The only reason I give this place for stars is because the atmosphere is pretty neat. I can see how a lot of people would like the look of the place and maybe get enticed into the menu. They have a lot of exotic meats and a lot of burger options here plus it looks like a pretty good bar. The problem is the execution. They put all these wonderful ingredients into their burgers and then just kind of throw it down and its unstructured. I got the buffalo burger and it was tasteless there was no seasoning or anything. Plus the lettuce was just as huge Leaf of lettuce with a thick spine and it was like $11 and so disappointing you have to pay an additional $2 for their home cut fries which are okay but Ive had better at In-N-Out. As far as the cheddar fries are concerned dont waste your money or your time. They use good ingredients but they seem to put the cheese in first and then everything on top of it so what you really good is this little boat with a whole bunch of french fries with a big block of cheese in the bottom . I never thought I would say dont eat the bacon its rubber they must cook at that morning for the entire day.. so another words I wont be coming back here it might be good for some if you like rubbery bacon and allowed busy bustling place it has the cool factor in that its downtown Carrollton which I love but no this was not a good burger. You can do much better at Snuffers up the road or quinlans bar and grill where they actually put some love and thought into their food. I do give him four starts though for trying it looks great. They just need to work on the quality.

Visiting from Scotland, I thought that Twisted Root Burger was a great, fun and quirky place that provided really good food and a memorable experience. I made my own burger with green chills and swiss cheese on a pretzel bun. I thought the burger itself was really good but my only gripe is that it completely saturated the bun and made it soggy. The overall taste was great, though, and the burgers were of good size and very filling. With the other three in my party, I really enjoyed the onion strings, fries, and fried pickles. I am not a big fan of pickles normally, but seeing the whole lineup of unlimited homemade pickles of all different varieties was really fun and I enjoyed sampling them all. In addition, I liked trying others drinks including the homemade pumpkin root beer and black raspberry lemonade. The latter was particularly delicious! For myself, I was lured in by the homemade vanilla bourbon! Coming from Edinburgh, I just had to give that a try and it was absolutely delicious. They also had homemade chilli pepper tequila for the adventurous! Overall, I had a great experience. I loved the decor and the humour of the place in their signs and bathrooms, too. The food was great and I think Twisted Root is a great place!

First off the Buffalo burger was good but what disappointed me was that when I ordered the burger I had to pay extra for the cheese on a $10 burger. Also I asked if they used Romain lettuce or regular lettuce and I was told regular lettuce but got Romain lettuce which I dont like. Also the fries were 2.99 extra. So I decline the fries figuring I would get chips with it, which is the case with most restaurants but no chips. My total order came to $11.63 for a 5oz burger with cheese. Just seemed over priced. I would suggest LA Hacienda Ranch off I-35 if you want a good burger itll cost about the same, the burger will be twice the size. Its more than you can finish and it comes with fries also you get all-you-can-eat homemade salsa and chips and the salsas is excellent.

My family and I decided to try this place even though we were a bit crunched for time. My husband and I both ordered the American double with a side and a beverage. It was the best burger Ive had in a long while. Things I would have changed is probably the size of the meat. I assumed a double would be two patties instead of one big one, but my husband loved it being a carnivore and all. To me the best thing on my plate was the fried pickles. If youre a fried pickle lover like myself, these are definitely the ones you need to order. Overall it was a really great atmosphere and loved the service. We will definitely be back!

Quality here has gone down significantly. My last burger came with a limp piece of lettuce about the size of a post-it note, a single slice of tomato, and a bun that was soaked through on the bottom with grease. A plain burger with fries and a drink totals about 12 dollars—definitely not worth that price anymore. They’ve recently gotten rid of their sweet potato chips which were the only (somewhat) lighter alternative on the menu to the fries and other fried side items. At least the root beer is still good. I like Twisted Root, but this location at least is lacking now.

Great location! Located next to a parking lot and bike racks. Outside seating and I believe they are dog friendly. Order your food past the tables if you come in from the main st side. Draft beer located by the bar. Didnt realize that they only have certain game of the day. I think Tuesdays are rabbit. Burgers are pretty good and sodium stuffed so you dont need to add much to it. Super fun place! They have the pickle bar at this location! Got my entire tables order wrong so that was agitating, but it wasnt busy so they corrected themselves very quickly.

Very cool chic little place a little bit hard to get to off of I-35 but definitely worth the search. Great food great atmosphere only thing they lack is they make everything from scratch with the exception of the jalapeno I would have preferred raw jalapenos to just standard pickled jalapenos with no imagination excellent Burgers excellent fries the waitress at the bar was phenomenal. And a gimmick that they have is pretty cool too this time as Freddy Krueger but I heard everything from Carmen Electra to Elvis to The Jetsons and so on

I have been to this location many times as well as several different Twisted Roots across Dallas. My family loves a good burger and we consider this the best in Dallas. My personal favorite is the Big Tex, but you cant go wrong with any of the burgers on their menu. I tried Quincys Patty Melt this go and wasnt a huge fan of the special sauce that only comes on that burger. The beef was delicious as usual though and its the tastiest burger you can find. We always get the Treat Yo Self fries as well - theyre delicious.

Burger normally tastes good but after waiting for 30 minutes after I placed my order it left a bad taste in my mouth with regards to the overall establishment. You will get the best experience when its not busy, but if it is busy prepare to wait a long time in line and an even longer time after youve placed your order. Not recommended for lunch. This place commands a high price for a crappy experience.

This place is spectacular. Their creative quality burgers are definitely something my wife and I will come back for. I had the Freshman 15 which has French fries, bacon, and a fried egg all on the burger and cooked to order. My wife loved the Western which has onion rings, bacon, and jalapeños and said the margarita was amazing. It has a fun atmosphere and a patio so it is a must visit.
