The wife and I have been coming here for a couple of years. Its about time Ive reviewed Chilli Thai. We have always enjoyed friendy, prompt service, well-prepared dishes in a "not-too-Thai" setting. Agree with one reviewer who said it was not easy to find being in a small sort-of strip mall. But yes, certainly worth looking for! On our most recent visit, we had two appetizers (soft-shelled crab: YUM!!!) and split an entree. It was quite enough for us both. We asked that the heat level be "#2"on the entree. Ive had Thai at other places where their menu showed three little chili peppers by the name of the dish and itd be mild as baby food. Not so at Chilli Thai. They like their spice. Level 2 was just spicy enough to have us go "whoo!" and not needing to down a gallon of water to wash it away. They dont serve alcohol, but you can BYOB. Its one of my favorite ways to dine anyway - so much more inexpensive. We keep coming back, and if they keep doing what theyre doing, so will we! UPDATE 7/29/16 They are in a new location: NW corner of Old Denton & Hebron Parkway. A bit more chi-chi with more emphasis on Thai decor (Buddha and elephants done Jackson Pollack) but cool. Had a bit delay getting our appetizers out due to "take out orders" in the way. But the rest of the dining experience went smoothly. And food quality still the best. We are still regulars here! See you there!

Weve been eating here for the last 5 years and its consistently the best Thai restaurant Ive found so far. The menu is definitely vegetarian friendly. I think almost all the dishes can be had with chicken, beef, or tofu. I like chicken or tofu in curry and beef with noodles, but theyre all good. The food is always consistent and excellent, Ive never had a bad experience. We order to go most of the time but also dine in on occasion. Its a very comfortable atmosphere inside, always clean and relaxing, not loud or rushed. I really like the coconut curry which comes in green, red, or mussuman. The pad see ew is also excellent. My wife likes the curry fried rice and pad Thai. The restaurant moved down the street a year or so ago to a larger space, but has the same great food & staff. They always recognize me and greet me by name, even if its been 6 weeks since I was in. Every time I have family visit from out of town I take them here, and the staff always asks how theyre doing if I dont bring them in :-) I used to eat at a couple Thai restaurants in Far North Dallas: one on Preston and a couple others on Frankford. Those are good, but Chilli Thai is much better in my opinion. Im also glad theyre conveniently near my home in north Carrollton. Theyre pretty convenient to Castle Hills now too.

So freaking consistently good! Pick your heat 1-5 peppers on each of your dishes. We went looking for trusty old villa Mediterranean Grill (good food too), it moved down to 35 and Frankfurt. So we ahead and tried the new place near the house. ON our first visit we had the Pad See Iew w/ chicken, Tom Ka w/ tofu, and the House Salad. All of the veggies were fresh and filled with flavor. The salad has traditional ingredients and it was very tasty. This timek we shared the Herb Chicken (appetizer) Drunken Noodle and Yellow Curry with Tofu Sweet potato and pineapple ( SO FREAKING GOOD!) and more Tom Ka. Even at the end of the night the soup taste fresh not like its been boiled down and had water added all day, veggies and firm and not over cooked from simmering too long. Every dish was just... perfect. New favorite Thai place, in Carrollton or DFW.

We spent 5 years living in Thailand eating only Thai food. for the last 3 years we have been looking for authentic Thai food ( not modified to American palate. We have been twice and now will make it a weekly or even more frequent outing. The first outing was lunch and Tom Ka soup with chicken. Superb taste , the portion was not too large for us older people but they did have too much chicken for us . We had the 4 star strength. As the atmosphere is modern and efficient we went for dinner. We started with the bikini shrimp which unusual then each of us had yellow curry one with just vegetables and the other with shrimp ( lots of them ) level 4 was correct. A big advantage for the night out is BYOB

First let me start by saying this has been one our favorite restaurants for over 7 years. On Monday evening 6/19, we came in to have dinner. We thought we try something new on the menu. We ordered the calamari appetizer. We werent pleased, but didnt say anything. Next we tried the Red Snapper fillet, again we were not pleased. We asked the waitress to change our order and we apologized for the inconvenience. It was apparent she wasnt pleased she had to take the order back. For the rest of the evening she decided to ignore us. We had ask for to go containers & the check. Also the water glasses were dirty. I am sad to said we will not be returning.

ordered orange chicken...and got sesame chicken. Dont give me wrong food! I have been ordering these two dishes from several years, and am sorry to say your waiter doesnt understand difference between both of these dishes and gives wrong food! Btw, the brown sauce did not have flavor of orange if that is what she told me. Really! It is such a shame that your staff does not understand the difference between 2 simple dishes and argues with customer about it! Wow! food was tasty but yes, sesame chicken was not tasty! Sorry-will think of coming here again..I dont want to run into senseless arguments for sake of eating!

The best Thai food you will find in the Dallas area - no question. Most Thai places are "afraid" to give a little heat to their dishes, and often times I will order a "4 of 5" spice level, and its barely spicy. NOT the case at Chilli Thai. The food is VERY flavorful, and reasonably priced. The portions are huge, the staff is friendly, and the dishes are catered to your spice-level liking! If you like more "traditional/Americanized Asian dishes", order the Curry Fried Rice with Chicken - wow.

This was a good restaurant when they started off. The last time I had a take out, the curry was extremely watery, very different from the numerous times I had the same dish. This was at the end of the day and it appears they had very little curry remaining and added water to fill the dish. Next time they just can be honest and say that they are out of the dish; order sometime else. Its unfortunate that their standards have fallen. I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Operating times posted on front door state lunch hours are 11:00-2:30. Arrived today at 2:20. When I entered girl asked if I was there to pick up a to-go order, I stated, "no, I was there for lunch". She said sorry we are closed. Again, checked my iPhone it was 2:20. No excuse for that in my book. Ill drive the extra distance to Best Thai at Frankfort & Tollway from now on.
