Very good local Mexican restaurant! The margaritas were quite tasty as well. Ive only tried it once so far, but I do plan to be back...I love supporting the local spots, especially when theyre good! *EDIT* I went again last night for our 2nd visit here and the food was again very delicious! The beer was reasonably priced as well. They definitely could use an actual dedicated bartender and more servers, plus some professional waitstaff training. Ill leave my rating at 4 stars and move it to 5 once the staffing kinks are worked out! *ANOTHER EDIT* This has now become one of our usual spots; service has improved as has the bartending. Everything weve tired on the menu has been delicious, but its pretty tough to beat their street tacos with homemade hot sauces! Happy hour is 4-7 I believe, but buckets of beer are always a great deal, as are the 32oz quart bottles of Mexican beer. *FURTHER EDITING* Weve been regular customers for 2-3 years now and the owner (Mary) and her husband just keep improving! The food is all freshly prepared and cooked in an actual kitchen as it should be. All meats and veggies are top quality. The homemade hot sauces are HOT with excellent flavor to match the heat! Both the flour and corn tortillas are great, but I absolutely love the handmade corn tortillas. Very good queso and guacamole as well; nothing tastes like it came from a package. Ive even been known to come here for the avacado bacon cheeseburger or order a few dozen tamales for the office.

Family owned and operated. Maybe a little short on help, but usually not busy. And Mary and her family are genuinely good people. The food is all delicious. I always add a couple barbacoa tacos, and I love the Tacos Piratas with grilled steak and avocado. Service is spotty, I agree, last time I think I had Marys nephew as a Server and he was definitely new to it, but this place is a hit with me. Im distressed to hear about the liquor license, by the way, you do NOT need a license to give away alcohol. Get your facts straight before you call someone a criminal on the internet. This isnt about the troll, this is about how great this place and these people are. They need an investor!

What can I say. My first visit to this place and it was terrible. My food had to be sent back because my food had too much grease in it. This place needed a total overhaul. As for the service, this was the first place Ive been to when I actually saw the manager sitting with customers drinking alcohol. I would not recommend this place at all.

The food was really good. Great prices for the amount of food you get, a lot. They actually have a red salsa that will kick your butt & we like that. Homemade fresh tamales to go as well! And, its not just Mexican food, saw the hamburgers and theyre huge, fish and a good kids menu.

Had the best Margarita in The Colony. Actually the best Margarita I can remember. We has the El Grande platter. The Chili Relleno was huge and oh so delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. I have never been a fan of Mexican food but this place has changed my mind.

Walked in on a Sunday afternoon and stood at the door for 5 minutes before we finally just left. In that 5 minutes we did not see one employee. No one greeting people, no waiters, no bartender. Will not be coming back to try again.

Yes!!! Been looking for some homemade Mexican food. We went at lunch so it was slow and unexciting....will definitely come back and check it out again! Took a bowl of chicken tortilla soup to go for dinner..amazing!

Had a wonderful breakfast/ lunch there today. Very friendly service. Loved the hand made flour tortillas. I had the Mexican breakfast while my wife had two tacos. Delicious. Would come again if we lived here.
