Perfect location gone to waste, took my family again and was not happy. The waitstaff is good, as always, but the food and management was not. My kids ordered the mac and cheese and it came out like it had been sitting all day, noodles soft and tasted horrible, and my kids took one bite and spit it out. My wife ordered the overcooked shrimp, and I ordered the 2 meat BBQ plate. If your going to sell BBQ in Texas on the lake it should at least be good. Not dry and no taste at all. This is not like its the first time. I thought maybe something had changed since I was there last year, wrong. It has cobwebs and dust everywhere. If you work there and you read this look up when you go to work as ask if you would want dust or spiders coming into your food. Neither do I!! For being the only place on the lake they have failed miserably. Suggestions: Shorten you menu, take the time to make quality food, and dont rush to make a bunch of tasteless meals. Clean! I know its on the lake but take some pride in your workplace. Work with your managers, I complained and the waitress went right to your manager, she looked at us, shrugged their solders and walked off. Managers should talk to there guests and interact with them to make sure there getting the best experience possible. Next time I take food to the lake with me, you have ruined my on the lake restaurant experience.

Awful food awful service. I went to this excuse of a restaurant after floating the river and my day was ruined. We waited for over an hour to just get greeted my a server. I had to speak to three different employees to ask for service. We ordered the brisket nachos and quesadilla. It was AWFUL! The quesadilla had NO taste at all and was full of grease. Took one bite and spit it up. The nachos were also horrible. They were obviously just Tostitos tortilla chips (maybe even something cheaper) with melted velvita cheese on top, topped with greasy brisket. They were the saddest excuse for nachos I had ever seen. For that price, they were not at all worth it. The menu is just odd, Tex mex, barbecue and American? None of which are executed very well. The name is deceiving as well. Its not at all a barbecue place. My visit to this restaurant completely ruined my day, the view is nice but that quickly wore off when youre starving and waiting an hour for service. If you plan on going here... Do yourself a favor. Dont!! You have been warned.

As soon as we walked in the hostess complained to the bartender about there not being room outside to sit us which was confusing because literally 1/4 of the balcony had people sitting there. They then argued in front of us and the bartender was telling her to punch out and go home if she didnt want to work. My husband and I ordered a margarita and the waitress came back and said their bartender went MIA so she made them and they probably arent would that good...she proceed to give us attitude or make sarcastic comments whenever she did check on us. The food was awful. We got brisket tacos and the retried beans are like watered down dog food while the brisket was just fatty greasy bits with no flavor. Really just awful experience.

Terrible Service! Great view but it stops there. My wife and I were there on Sunday 9/21 and literally it was a waste of out time and money. There appeared to be more wait staff than patrons but that didnt help their cause at all. Theres was a consistency in the poor service, all the wait staff appeared to be equally unprofessional and ill equipped for the job. Inefficiency with table assignments, inefficiency with follow up and it only got worse from there. I dont know or need to know the history of the restaurant or owners but they really should leave it to professionals. I would not go back or recommend this place to anyone. There are other places to see the lake from and youre better of enjoying it with your own PB&J.

What bbq, didnt even smell like bbq! I agree that they have horrible service...manager was ok I guess. But my husband had asked for no ice in his drink but of course theres the ice. Then it took more than an hour just to get large nachos and a pint or basket of fries. They refused to put "chili and cheese" on the fries. And when the nachos finally came out they were cold and the cheese was stuck to the plate. Looked like something we couldve quite very easily made at home and ours wouldve looked so very much better. I dont think they care at all about presentation. Also our bill was pretty high for the crap they served. Will never go here again!

Ok the scenery is amazing. The staff is super friendly. Drinks were tops. The chips and salsa, queso and guacamole appetizer was tasty however the rest if the menu needs done some work. I was also a little bit grossed out at the bar having water bowls for the dogs ON THE BAR! People placed their dogs o. The counter next to the drink stirrers and drink garnishments. I saw roaches on the bar as well. Place the bowls on the floor and please tell people to keep their animals off the bar. i also I enjoyed the music but again some people had their dogs on the few bar stools leaving many people standing.

On our last visit to Canyon Lake, we decided to eat at the Baja BBQ Shack after a day of being on the lake. We went in about 2 hours and 30 min before they closed and sat outside, while the views were awesome and our server was friendly we could definitely tell she was in a hurry to get us to finish so she could leave. We remained courteous as I have been in that position before when I worked in the restaurant industry. However, the two tables sitting by us were not happy. As for the food, I had the cheese enchiladas and my bf had the bbq sandwich. His meal was good but mine could have been better.

20 minute wait for seating , another 20 minutes before you could order ,placed order ,another couple was seated beside us they ordered got food, ate, paid there tab and was gone before we ever got ours !!! then we got our food after about 2 hours ,, it was the worst !!!! new menu is what we were told !! so i asked how long they have had the new menu they said since the flood ,that was a month and a half ago !!!! the worst experience ive ever had !!! thank god for the waitress she was the best !!!! sat night 7-11-15 !! love the deck and the view of the lake and sunset great drinks

Loved it! Ive seen this restaurant go through a lot of changes over the 20+ years Ive been eatting here. The bar b que is fantastic! Fish tacos rock! The queso is so much better than ANYWHERE else! My kids LOVE LOVE LOVE the pulled pork. We appreciate being able to grab a pound of turkey, a pound of pulled pork, some ribs, sausage links - take it to go and enjoy it on the boat, or sit and watch the sunset from the deck. We have found the music to be well chosen for the environment! The servers always take good care of us. We come here often, and always leave happy!
