Ordered a cake for my sons 5th birthday, and at first it was a dream. My son has an egg allergy and Sweet was happy to make an egg free cake for his party. However, it was all down hill from there. They called the night before to say it was probably not going to work egg free. After some discussions we found a solution, but the final product looked thrown together. The fondant was not even remotely straight or smooth, the cake was not even level. It looked as if it would tip over or slide off at any moment. In the end I had to spend several hours fixing the cake to make it presentable to my son. What made the whole situation worse was discussing this with the staff on the birthday. They were quite rude and unhelpful toward fixing the cake. I would not recommend them.

Sweet always has a great variety of "to go" items (cupcakes, cookies, cake balls) and delicious espresso, if you feel like pulling up a table, taking a break from shopping, and watching the world pass by. Their Cupcake of the Week is always something very inspired. For example, they recently did a locally themed offering with Fredericksburg peach cupcakes and cookies featuring Austin murals (think “Greetings from Austin” and “I love you so much”). However, they go above and beyond with their custom cakes, from beautiful, elegant wedding cakes to whimsical, creative birthday cakes. It’s almost a shame to cut into them, but it must be done so you can get to the moist, rich insides. Highly recommended.

I needed a cake to feed about 20+ people for a work baby shower. I did not want to get a store bought cake because I wanted it to be special with extra thought and uniqueness involved. I provided a copy of the shower invitation as a sample of the colors and theme of the shower. I could not decide on chocolate or vanilla cake and was told the baker could accommodate both types in one cake. Easy peasy! When I picked up and peaked inside the box I was thrilled. The cake was so pretty, and tasted even better, so moist and flavorful. Coworkers asked to sneak and extra piece to take home if there was any left. I will be a return customer in the future for sure!

"custom cakes, cookies, cakeballs, cupcakes" Yes you read that right ladies and gentlemen... CAKEBALLS!! This place is amazing best baked goods Ive had in all of my life (sorry mom). I hadnt even heard of cakeballs before Sweet converted me into a cakeball consuming machine. Thank you Sweet may your icing continuously flow and your cakes be forever moist. Not to mention the lady behind the counter was awefully nice and made some great suggestions. Only suggestion I can think of is free insulin shots so I can continue to consume CAKEBALLS!

Sweet was recommended to me by a colleague, and I requested a quote from them for a 2-tiered cake for my sons birthday party over a month ago, in early May. I have yet to receive a response from Sweet saying anything at all. It is rather rude and poor service. Good customer service starts with communication. If they are unable to respond to a quote request at all, I doubt I would have been satisfied with their services anyway.

I have had several cakes from this bakery, and all have been fantastic. I eat gluten and dairy free, so it is hard to find a good cake. Sweet has managed to solve that puzzle. They offer the best GF/DF options in Austin. Also, the theme cakes are impressive in terms of decoration and style. The service is top notch and they aim to please.
