Mean hateful waitress.. really, we went to this place at 3am, as a tourist, unfamiliar with all the rules apparently, because my friend had 1 inch of a drink left in his to go cup and after waiting for a table for just 5 or so minutes and putting money in their silly video gaming machine, a mean, horrible lady waitress came and said to my friend " you cant have that in here " so I really thought she wanted it gone so I drank it like a shot because I really thought she wanted the drink gone, not us, it was an inch of watered down jamenson and Coke. To me it made perfect sense, then the bitter, heinous waitress that apparently doesnt like people having fun told me she "didnt like my smirk" and I was "out of here" so we looked super surprised because really we are nice normal people, we werent being loud or stupid or drunk acting like others there were. But the waitress really seemed to not like us for no real reason so we went else where and they liked us and our tips quite a lot.

Disgusting!! DO NOT EAT HERE. The entire staff are fifilthy people. The waitress sweats in an uncontrollable fashion. She wipes her sweat from her face and blows her nose and then handles the food. She uses her hands to scoop ice into cups, she handles the biscuits after blowing her nose. The place is fifilthy. The rag they use to "clean" tables fell on the floor and was then picked up and fell into the gravy dish. As the rag sat there, the woman continued to scoop gravy onto plates. The eggs sit out, none of the staff wears gloves. The restrooms are so grose and there is no soap. At no point did anyone was their hands. They violate every serve safe law imaginable. Finger prints in the food that was served..... I will be calling the health department on this incredibly fifilthy place.

This was my second time at Hermitage Cafe, the first being enjoyable but after this last visit, we will no longer be customers at Hermitage. The staff cursed and conversed loudly while we waited for our food and they all joined in on a customers conversation about his "balls." I just wanted a quiet breakfast, our son is currently in NICU and we travel to Nashville every Monday and Tuesday, sometimes we just want to leave the hospital, sit down and have a nice quiet meal to enjoy. This past time at the cafe was horribly rude, loud and offensive. We will never return back because of the very unprofessional staff.

i stayed outside of downtown in Antioch for a week and decided that one night i would go downtown. i took a peak at Broadway and thought not for me so i ventured on and found a watering hole called beer cellar (i will write a separate review on this place!) after meeting some good people and drinking some great beer we decided to go eat. the bar tender led us to this little cafe (at 1:00 in the morning!) here we met more great people and ate some of the best diner food i have ever had. i would highly recommend this to anyone especially those looking to experience something i thought felt a little more local.

OK...totally one of my all-time favorite places in Nashville...you see the most eclectic people. Its so nostalgic, that I think it rivals The Palms for celebrity memorabilia...but in a totally retro diner sort of way. The food is to DIE FOR! Really yummy! Everything from the chili to the burgers to the fab cakes. And the people who work there are so sweet and helpful and wonderful! If I were a tourist, wanting a real sense of the Music City side of Nashville, this would be my #1 top choice of places to go. And they are open ridiculously late for those wanting to grab dinner after the bar scene downtown.

This is a staple here in Nashville. I love this place and I love the people that work there and even those regulars like me who I always spot when I come in. This is my go-to breakfast place. I can call in my order and in 10 minutes it ready, not to mention that they know who I am and what I want by the sound of my voice! Prices are some of the best in downtown especially for what you get. Even love their fried catfish lunch special on Fridays! Everyone who visits Nashville should stop by this place. It is CASH ONLY, but they do have an ATM located inside.

Service was exceptional. Food was good, but nothing to write home about, but the value is exceptional. The quality of the biscuits is off the chart, the gravy is average, but the biscuits make up for it. It is a hole in the wall, and if you like that sort of thing (and I do) than I highly recommend it. You do feel welcome. I was called baby, sweety and sugar numerous times, so it has the whole southern hospitality thing going. If you are one bit pretentious then stay away this place is not for you.

Was there on New Years with my boyfriend and two of our friends. We ordered, got our food. I packed up the last of mine, my boyfriend was still was eating the others were drinking coffee still. The waitress was hateful and told us we had to leave now because there was a 35 minute wait. We had already paid for our food. The sad thing is we have been there multiple times and they have great food. But the staff is going to drive the business in the ground with their rudeness.

Its a little divey, but the food was decent. Stopped on after a morning flight to Nashville. My wife got the vegetarian omelet and I got the country eggs and ham. Ordered my eggs over medium but they came a little runny. The wife said the omelet was good. Service was good and relatively quick. The thing that took the longest was the toast for some reason. I was almost done eating before we got our toast, though it seems like it should have been the easiest thing to prep.

My wife and I ate here last minute after a run to the County Clerk office across the street. I had the Southern Chicken sandwich with mayo and pickles and I added some hot sauce to it as well as fries and she had a burger with fries. It was delicious! Good food for a good price. Staff was very friendly as well. Cash only is the only downfall although there is an ATM onsite that charges a $3.25 service fee. If your looking for a genuine greasy spoon this is it!

This is a hole-on-a-wall type of restaurant that is very popular with the locals. It is a rougher version of Waffle House but the food is good if you can overlook the abrasive service and the amount of Crisco or butter they use when cooking your food. This is not a place for people wanting to eat healthy. It is very affordable for the amount of food you receive; with 95% under $8.00. Parking is limited and they ONLY ACCEPT CASH. Give them a try!

My husband and I ate here a year ago on a recommendation from someone. BEST RECOMMENDATION ever! The food was amazing, reasonably priced, and friendly service. My husband is back in Nashville right now and we were talking about how good the food was, but couldnt remember the name. Luckily google helped me find it. Im seriously jealous that he gets to go back without me. I hope to come back again soon!
