Im from Memphis, so the bar for BBQ is pretty high. That being said, I think the pulled pork is pretty good for Nashville. They make their own sauce; its vinegary but not spicy, and has a little sweetness that complements the pork. The staff is really friendly, and they have a good brown bag special that will have you in and out in a few minutes ($5 for a regular pork sandwich, canned drink, and bag of chips). Just a couple things worth mentioning: not open on Sundays and sometimes its hot in the indoor dining area.

I ordered a shoulder sandwich and it was sloppy with cold slaw. The meat was very wet and slimy with too much fat...The meat tasted like something from a can. No barbecue taste whatsoever. It wasnt cooked on a barbecue pit to taste the barbecue coals.. This food wasnt fit to even put in the garbage.. Thats how HORRIBLE it was.. The server looked stoned high... GZ barbecue on Gallatin Rd is the REAL DEAL!!!

Such a gem! The owners and staff are so warm and friendly and the food is so good at a great price! My Wee One wants BBQ from "the pig place" at least twice a month. Get the cabbage as a side, you will not be disappointed.
