I will never go back to this place ever again and I hope they shut down sometime soon this is the most disgusting food I ever tried and I felt like Im in prison where they put some food on your plate and hand it to you and tell you come back again for more if you want and before I forget after you get your plate you have to pay before you even sit and eat and it was too expensive for a place it could be in the third world country I really dont understand how they are still in business three men run the whole show and they keep staring at you while youre eating I was the only customer they have I should of just walked out and told him I forgot something in my car.and I believe the people they left nice comments about this place they were told to do it.I am not from Tennessee by the way. Dont go

Beautiful cultural atmosphere!!Super amazing $10 buffet (tax included with MTSU discount) eat all the Indian foods you want. Family owned and super delicious. Real people from India cook the food, and they cater, and they travel to cater. Its a good cultural experience. Everything is awesome here. Tastes like Indian food!! I usually bring a new person with me every time I go there and they like it. Even if they havent tried Indian food before. The only people who didnt like it were an uncultured white boy from green bay and uncultured white folk who grew up in the same Tennessee city all their life. Very good food. Im planning to stop here for a take out meal before I head to work this semester since I work on the same street.

I absolutely love Clay Pit! Ive been eating there for almost three years now, and the food is incredible every time. Ive had quite a bit of good Indian food (real Indian home-cooked food), and Clay Pit definitely meets the standards of good. The prices arent exactly cheap, but you get a lot of food for what you pay ($11 includes buffet, drink, and unlimited nan), if you can eat it. I take everyone I can to Clay Pit atleast once, and so far, no one has had anything but praise, even my picky eater friends. If you want to make sure and get your moneys worth, get the buffet to go, ask for everything you see, and I promise youll come away with enough food to feed atleast two people for a couple meals.

WHAT??? HOW is this place even open. I was visiting MTSU campus and a friend told me about this Indian place. I should have WALKED OUT after seeing the Inside but hoped that food woudl be good and seriously glad to find Indian food in a small city. I mad ethe biggest mistake. FOOD was awful, no service whatsoever...place reeked fith and staunch..I left most of my food and walked away..Being from a bigger city in TN where we have decent Indian restaurants, I think I know Indian food better and definitely want to share my concerns about this place..STARVE...BUT DO NOT EAT since you will feel sick after eating here...Do yourself a favor please...

Had lunch buffet on weekend. Gulab jamun and garlic naan were quite good, everything else was quite bad. Seems to have same menu everyday so that leftovers may be recycled; non-veg dishes include chicken tikka masala (very mediocre with ultra-thin gravy), mango chicken (very mediocre, nothing to do with mango), tandoori chicken (seems to be sitting there for ages, did not try). The ambiance takes away 50% of your appetite. Most importantly, you will have to go and beg for food every time you want some from an "all-you-can-eat buffet".

I was a student at MTSU from 2006 - 2008 and was first introduced to Indian food by trying out this place. I became a Clay Pit regular in 2007. After moving away from Murfreesboro, I have tried out other Indian food places in Tennessee and this place has the best Indian food I have tasted. Most buffets compromise food quality; in my opinion, Clay Pit does not. Clay Pit has excellent service. Note: Their all-you-can-eat buffet is not self-service; instead it is cafeteria style.

I just tried the buffet and it was gross. Not sure about the food in the menu. Its below the average Indian cuisine, yet pricey. I have been to many classy Indian cuisines across the country that serve better food for fair price. I think the reason why this restaurant pricey and below the average is because its the only indian restaurant in town. Hopefully, more Indian restaurants, which surpass the only one in town, come in town soon.

This place has redone the interior and is much much nicer than before. The food here is excellent. It reminds me of the Indian food I used to eat when I lived in NYC. I also like how theres not only a lunch buffet but a dinner buffet too. You can also order from the menu if you prefer that.

This place is awesome! I came in for New Years Eve for a Togo order. Was greated so nicely, and offered a couple of free appetizers from the buffet while waiting. Food is super delicious. Def my go to place here in town to get some fantastic Indian food.

Awful food! I am Indian, and I can definitely say that the food didnt taste very Indian. Very stale, and cold. Not very good selection on the food. And to top it off we were sick with diarrhea for several days. DO NOT GO!

Not much to pick from, not that great of food either compared to other Indian restaurant in area, yet same price as better shops. Only thing that saved the experience for me was the Bollywood playing on the TV.

Normally a good place to dine. Tonight, horrible. Weak buffet, excuse was earlier event caused lack of food items they should not have opened. Also brought burned Nan to table. Hope it improves or never again.

Food was bad and unfresh. I refused by daughter to keep eating since I felt it had gone bad after sitting for days...Went to TANDOOR Indian place on N. Thompson Lane instead. I was glad I did.

Service was nice. I got the buffet which was so so. Rest of the family ordered from the menu and that was good. They should just get rid of the buffet and prepare on demand so its fresh.

This restaurant food quality goes up and down over time for unknown reason, maybe they change shefs or something else, as of Nov/2015 quality was high, please keep it high.
