I feel like this place has a great deal of untapped potential. The location is great since theres quite a few neighborhoods close by, and its far enough from the nearest olive garden that people would consider going out for Italian at Sauce instead. Ambiance: Sadly, Sauce cant seem to decide weather it wants to be a pizza and sports joint (florescent lights, many of which were burnt out, were sparsely on across the place, a large-screen TV on one wall with a football game on with the volume up) or a romantic Italian cafe (decorative warm pendant lights here and there with some food related decorations spaced across one wall, Christmas lights hanging across the front of the cafe give off a warm glow, the low bar completely covered in wine corks was a neat touch). It falls somewhere in between but in the end fails at both. I would not take a date here as I discovered that the restroom was a complete mess. Perhaps I caught them on a bad night? Staff: The staff were the highlight of our experience. They were cheerful and professional and really made our time there feel warm and inviting. I would go back just because theyre nice people who seem happy with their work. Food: I was surprised to find that Sauce had a pretty large selection of sandwiches which made it seem like maybe they were more interested in the lunch crowd, but their main focus seemed to be pizza. We ordered a pizza. It didnt take too long to come out of the kitchen (I read a few other reviews complaining about slow pizza, but that wasnt my experience). The crust was unexpectedly thin, but not in a bad way. I enjoyed the crispiness of it. The pizza smelled delicious, but I wish it seemed a bit more "fresh out of the oven" hot. It didnt have a high enough temperature to visibly steam or to have gooey cheese, and I could immediately grab it with my hands (perhaps a plus since it smelled pretty darn good). The pizzas flavor, sadly, was a bit too salty and was lacking the sweet flavors of tomato sauce to balance it out. It was also missing the tangy pepperonccini flavor I was looking forward to when I ordered that particular pizza. Perhaps the saltiness overpowered the rest of the taste. Overall I feel like Sauce is teetering on the edge of being a nice casual eatery to go and watch the game, or an authentic little Italian cafe perfect for romantic dinners. They just need to decide what kind of place they want to be.

When we went in the place was semi busy. Sat down with my party of 3, Drinks were ordered pretty quickly and thats when it went down hill from there. Server was taking Togo orders over the phone. About 15 minutes later she came over to take our order. Well then the restaurant got busy, it was a Friday,We got the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer and ordered a pizza. It took 36 minutes for us to get the appetizer, People who came after us sat down ordered food and were enjoying their entrees. I hailed down the waitress after we were finished with the appetizer which was ok, She informed me the pizza would be here momentarily. Well another 20 minutes went by, she never stopped to check on drink refills and now no pizza, I hailed down another waitress to check on our pizza. Watched her walk over talk to our waitress, they both looked at us and then preceded to talk to the kitchen. The server then finally came over after about 10 minutes and said they are working on the pizza now. Not one time did she ever say they lost the pizza order, or that it wasnt rang in or the dog ate it. I get it, its busy but not one acknowledgment that it wasnt rang in. No manager interaction, no Im sorry but we messed up and it will be up in a minute. Just that it is coming. Now 1hr and 25 minutes later, no pizza and a server to be found yet still with no drink refills I went up to the counter and asked what was the problem. She had no answer. At that point I requested my bill and we paid and left. Customer service is lacking in both the way its ran and how the staff is trained to handle the situation. We wont go back ever!!! And I have told at least 100 people about our experience. Which came recommended. Sauce is a FAIL!!!

Have been wanting to visit Sauce since they opened. Decided to try their pizza and went with the 14” (large) American Classic with mushrooms, Italian sausage, and pepperoni plus I added onions. Worked out great as that was their “special” for the day and received $2 off. Enjoyed a beer while waiting for my pizza and watched some of the football game. With all of the pizza smell I was starving when the pizza was ready so I decided to try a slice (that turned into three) while I finished my beer. Overall the pizza was quite good and the crust was nice and crispy with the outer edge folded up. This type of crust would lend itself well to a brush of olive oil infused with some basil or oregano on the outer edge. The toppings were ample, fresh, and really enhanced the flavor of the pizza. Now this is MY personal preference, I love cheese but not as thick as they put it on their pizza. Now if you love a lot of cheese…you will be happy but the next time I order here I would request a bit less. Service was very friendly and the price is good as to what you would expect for a large pizza. They have some interesting pizza options on their menu (Chili Jubilee, Florence, and Brusciutta) I would love to try. Highly recommend them!

Ive never had a better experience anywhere. Everything is homemade and made from scratch. Nothing out of a box here. From the pizza and pasta down to the bread and salads this is by far the best Italian restaurant. Service was quick and friendly, even though they were packed (busy) when I went there, the food was piping hot and delish, the background music was great, sports on the big screen, and it appeared everyone who eats there always has a smile on their face. I cant imagine our family having another "goto" place. We try something different everytime we go because honestly, you have to or youll regret it. I dont know who owns this place but, Bravo! Excellent job neighbor.

Sauce, despite its simplistic interior and less than comftorable seating, has certainly become my favorite place to eat an "American style Italian Food." The pastas and the pizza are soulful and flavorful - you will defiantly not regret coming to this place if you are in the mood for a quality, high tasting meal.

Thin, crispy crust and unorthodox toppings, whats not to love? Bayswater is my favorite but Ive never had a bad experience. Its a small restraunt with only a couple of waiters or waitresses, but this doesnt affect service at all. Has a homey feel. I take my family from Arkansas here when they visit. Always a hit

What I didnt like: The pizza has a really thin crust and is greasy. The crust reminded me of Tonys frozen pizza. The pepperonis are under the cheese so they werent crispy and didnt have a very distinct pepperoni flavor. What I did like: the sauce wasnt over powering and the cheese was delicious.

Highly recommend the Bayswater pizza. Best pies in Murfreesboro. Can be a little bit of a wait from sit to eat but the food is always fresh and hot. Its not a fast food joint its a sit back and enjoy place.
