Not what it used to be! I have eaten here before but havent been back in a while, and its not the same. We got here at 11:30 on fathers day and they said they dont open until 12. So, we waited 30 minutes. They actually didnt open the doors until 12:07. They were some how out of several things like the crab cakes that they substituted with more chicken tenders but when I asked, they wouldnt substitute it with oysters on a $27 combo platter for two. Not even for the inconvenience of not having whats on the menu. I cant believe they were going to charge me $27 for some catfish, shrimp and a double order of chicken tenders! They also couldnt serve less than 4 chicken tenders on someones order, that was $7.99. Besides all that, the music was too loud and didnt really complement the overall theme and it was WAY overpriced! We ended up walking out so I cant comment on the food, but, I cant imagine them having fresh oysters or catfish.

Overall, the Catfish Cabin was alright. Three of us ate there and it came to about $50, so not bad on price, but a little pricy. The waiter that greeted us wanted us to wait for a shift change, but we were catching a flight soon, and wanted to get our orders in. Staff was overall friendly, good service. Best hushpuppies Ive ever had. When we last went they served a few veggies on the side with our fish. This visit, no veggies. Didnt think to ask for them while we were there, oh well. The fish was good, very oily (yes its because they were fried, but they were clearly not drained before being put on the plate). The worst part was the bathroom. One of the sinks had something weird/gross inside it. Was glad I had already eaten, because the look and smell almost made me sick. Not bad, though were not sure if well go back.

They have horrible customer service and the waitresses are not friendly. The restaurant has a horrible spirit inside of it, when you walk in, its just a sad feeling in there. They remodeled, but it doesnt look like it at all, it still looks ancient . The workers look ancient and broke down. To be honest they need to just shut it down or get a whole new crew and owner. Their birthday is not really a free meal, because they make you pay the difference. The limit is 11.45. I wouldnt recommend this restaurant to anybody, seriously, dont go.

Its considered no frills but there is an abundance of charm and sweet southern hospitality. This is a Memphis gem and a mandatory stop every time Im passing through. Hands down the best hushpuppies on the planet Earth accompanied by a the best tartar sauce on both sides of the Mississippi. The homemade peach cobbler is the perfect appetizer to the tastiest Whole Catfish platter outside of East Texas. This is not a quick in-and-out experience so slow down and enjoy the feel of being family at a Sunday afternoon fish fry.

My experience today (12-05-16) was not so pleasant. My fiancé and I came in today waited to be seated. There was an older lady worker sitting in the corner and saw us and waited 5 minutes before she got up to greet us! The atmosphere was about 80 degrees. The older lady worker was our waitress and her demeanor was not professional, walked past our table several times and did not check to see if we needed anything. We had to beck for her on refills. The cashiers were also NOT Friendly! I will NOT be returning.

The waitress was great!! The food was awful. I ordered the cabin combo. (2 catfish fillets, 2 Chicken tenders and 2 shrimps with fries) Everything was greasy. The catfish fillets were actually one fillet cut in half. The chicken tenders were over cooked and dry. The shrimp was cold. The cold slaw was nasty!! The best part of the meal was the hush puppies but by the time the rest of my meal came they were cold. Never again!! I dont see how they stay in business. Oh yes, I forgot, $10 off on your birthday.

CATFISH CABIN is back! The original (founding) owners are back so are the recipes and staff! Food is better than ever and they are working hard to rebuild their business. They leased it out for several years and the name was bruised due to poor management and upkeep of the business. The original owners are working hard to restore their reputation by serving only the best southern fried catfish and seafood in Memphis. I would def recommend any and everybody to check it out! " Prepare to be amazed"

I was very disappointed. We were there on May 18th for a birthday dinner. Our server, Monica, did the best she could with a party of 12, but the food was lackluster, at best. The spaghetti had the texture of baby food and the filets were cut in half into straps. They claimed they remodeled but that same moose/deer/yak was hanging on the wall looking crazy. I was pimped out of $35 and I was still hungry, afterwards. I wont be returning...deuces!

Outstanding service today - Ms. Florida was a doll. And the food was fast and great. Slaw has sweet pickle relish in it - nice touch. Catfish was clean and hot and perfectly seasoned and cooked. Oysters were tasty. Hush puppies were, too (jalapeños in them, of course). And you can tell they make their own tartar and cocktail sauce. Really a great spot for good southern fried fish and sides, and easy to get to right off I-240. Try it.

This place is gone down hill, I had a roach to fall in my food from the ceiling and when I told the waiter no-one responded to my table, when I went to pay the manger said, "oh yes the waiter said something about it" and took $4 off the ticket, I was disgusted and so was my two year old baby, all she said for the whole ride home was that nasty bug fell in our food. Disgusting!! I Will NEVER GO BACK, I WAS WARNED.

Not like it was back in the day. Catfish & fries were at best luke warm. Hush puppies were super greasy (literally dripping grease). Cole slaw was best thing in the meal. Server never smiled until she talked to other employees in the back. Just overall bad. I would not reccomend this place. Owner said she would make it right next time. Sorry lady their wont be a next time!!! A total waste of $20 for lunch.

I spent $30 and the meal was terrible except for the cold slaw. The fish fillets were a little strip of four fish, the hush puppies greasy, they put cold slaw in the food carton which leaked all over the place instead of a container with lid, the chicken was dry, and four little shrimp. This place is not the same as when they first started which was always packed. This place was the best back then!

Use to go a lot, but they have fell off more recently. Last 2 times I went were both horrible experiences. Went at opening once, tasted like they refried left over fish from the previous night. Went at 9p for my birthday, everything was cold and old tasting. They are no longer in the days with excellent hush puppies and coleslaw. Dont waste your time, not even for the free birthday meal.
