Love this place!! I am a Mexican food fanatic and this place is prob the best I've tried in East TN. The food is phenomenal, always hot, fresh and sooooo yummy! I've only ate burritos, rice and beans b.c its my favorite but all the other dishes I've seen seem to look as good and also always look steaming hot from the oven. Abuelo's doesn't compare. It's all frills no taste, personality or service. Border Taco is ok but its about the same price and its not fresh and hot, imo, plus its very pricey. The other cult favorite around here is soccer taco and I walked out of there without paying. Horrible service and mediocre food. A few bites in, just being there didn't feel right so I got up and left. I don't think anyone even noticed. I lingered by the bar for atleast 3min and Noone gave me the time of day so off I went. Anyway, la parilla. You'll be glad u did. I have had no problem with service. One waiter I've got twice who is nice and remembered me and the third time my waiter wasn't as outgoing but he wasn't "rude" and he was there when I needed him.

I never go out of my way to leave reviews on restaurants, but I just want to make it a point to come and leave one. Me and my best friend came in tonight to enjoy dinner and though the food was awesome (as always) our server was extremely slow, unfriendly, and left us waiting on everything for an extremely long time. He was very impolite and didnt even offer to give us to-go boxes when my friend still had close to a full plate. Thankfully we were right in front of the boxes so she could get one herself. We both used to serve so Im generally extremely patient but tonight I couldnt find any excuses. He was extremely inattentive. Hopefully he was new because thats literally the only excuse for the service we received.

Me my fiancé and 2 friends went to eat here and they were slow but the survives was horrible we couldnt even find a waiter I had to get one of the other waiters to get him once he came to the table he took our order and left it took about 1hr and 1/2 for the food to get there then it took another 1hr for us to even get tortillas and drinks i had to get up and go to the hostes and tell her we were still waiting on food once I told her it still took about 45 for us to get our drinks and tortillas by the time we finally got everything our food was could and half of our order was Wong but yet the still chagred us full price for our food worst service ever I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Knoxville! Consistently very high quality-try the chicken fajitas or shrimp quesadilla. Staff is very attentive, nice open atmosphere yet extra large and extra high booths provide good privacy for up to six people each. I also like that they provide a selection of hot sauces on table for extra heat. Great salsa. Good for either families or before-the-movie date nights. I almost like it as much as the legendary Chez Guevara near the mall. That is a huge compliment by the way...

Very friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere, but my god the food was awful. Scant one pack of processed cheese slices covered in tortillas and frighteningly orange rice. Greasy and plasticy tasting. With some peas and corn from what seemed like a dehydrated soup packet, that had failed to fully rehydrate. The shrimp were good. And the salsa. And no complaints on the portion sizes. Can they be too big? I really wanted to like this place but it wasnt my cup o tea.

Awful, thats all I can say. My fiancé and I went a few weeks back and we were both so sick that we thought we were going to have to go the emergency room. I physically felt like I was drugged, and my fiancé had to shake me awake at several points and our mental clarity was so off equilibrium that we were unable to drive. We drank only water, had the spinach dip and the shrimp quesadilla, but we were extremely disoriented. We will never come here again.

Stellar food, inattentive service. The food at La Parilla is incredibly delicious. The Fajitas Molcejete is easily the best fajita Ive ever had. That said, service is very slow and inattentive at times. Recently, we were brought our food and had to wait nearly 10 minutes for silverware or the tortillas for my fajitas. The only reason it wasnt longer is that we finally managed to flag someone cleaning the tables who got our server.

Terrible. I have been to this restaurant about 4 or 5 times for lunch in the last month. The food is decent that is why we have returned. The service is horrible. All of the servers hide from their customers. I have been out of a beverage for my entire meal. I have ordered the AYCE lunch several times and I think they avoid me hoping I have to leave to get back to work. We will not return. If you go dont expect much from your servers

After our waiter got 2 of 4 orders wrong we started to eat. About 2 bites in to my meal i bit into a chicken bone. I told our server and he kinda just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. A few minutes later my friend also bit into a chicken bone. We again told the waiter and he said "guess we didnt clean it very well". If ya want to choke on a chicken bone this is the spot for you.

On Sunday, August 28th, 2011 we had attended La Parrilla at Parkside Drive aka Turkey Creek... It took them over 10 minutes to ask us for our drinks, another 7-8 minutes for to TAKE our order... Then when we had finished our meal it took them over 25 minutes to give us our check and another 10-11 minutes to give back our card/bill. We got stuck there for at least an hour and a half.

BEST MEXICAN IN THE US. BY FAR. Amazing salsa, great food. Try the burritos and fajitas. Extremely friendly staff; only things; not everyone there speaks perfect english, it can get really loud in there, and the salsa isnt CONSISTANT; BUT ITS ALWAYS AMAZING. SALSA AND FOOD IS ALWAYS GOOD.

Food was decent (had fajitas) but definitely nothing too special. The chips and salsa are good but that isnt anything to rave about of course. Fajitas were comparable to Chilis in quality. Sadly my server was terrible and could have cared less about my dining experience.

You are better off going to the Chilis down the street. This place was absolutely disgusting. Awful service. Awful food. Awful margaritas. im not asking much when I go out for Mexican, but this place was horrible.

I would rate this as one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in town. The patio seating area is nice and the atmosphere is always vibrant. Try the big hot burrito if you like super spicy.
