Service is usually good. The servers try to get to you and keep glasses full and pull used plates. My problem is with the management who sets the menu. Years ago, there was coconut cream pie and oreo pieces on the dessert bar. You could make your amateur version of a "Blizzard" by mixing oreo with ice cream. There were also gummies and other goodies to suit other tastes. The coconut creme pie is gone as are the oreos. They have replaced these with the gimmick fountain. The soft serve is grainy with ice crystals and no smooth taste. The hot food items are also not what they used to be. I wish I was as smart at their management at figuring out how to put out mediocre food just good enough to get you in the door and poor tasting enough to reduce consumption. They have hit the supply-demand curve perfectly and are maximizing profits while the consumer does not get the same quality of meal they got ten years ago. The local Ryans restaurants are out of business so they do not have any serious competition. We went to Mamas House once and it was OK but not impressive enough to want to go back. The selection of mediocre food is such that when you have a group of 5+, you go here as other, more focused, restaurants will not be acceptable to at least one person in the group. The entire group shows up and finds something that is "good enough" to put some food in the belly. The servers are almost always pleasant and efficient. People like me who remember the old days become bitter about the removal of coconut pie, oreo and other candy pieces, and the reduction in quality of the soft serve ice cream. You walk in, pay your money, eat less than you did 10 years ago, and walk out praying for the day that another mega-corporation decides to produce a buffet with the same quality as this place had 10 years ago. If this day ever comes, it will force the management here to either start providing something better than mediocre, or Golden Corral will go the way of Ryans. For now you go because you want some hot food or salad and the alternative is expensive plate food that narrows what each person eats. Billionaires of the world, please compete with these folks who have an unofficial monopoly on this niche so they will either raise their quality of offerings or go the way that they forced Ryans to go a few years back. Right now, you keep going back not because you cherish the food but because they offer something that is acceptable to a diverse group of people. If I never set foot in this place again, I will not miss anything as it currently operates. However I realize that when with the entire family or with a large group of people, I will be back.

Do not eat here if you want a nice family dinner! Reserved the party room with them for our familys Annual Christmas get together...as we do every year. The one in Johnson City was booked so we had to use this location. The manager told us it was no problem...we showed up with our 30 family members, only to be told he didnt have the room booked and he had us crammed in the back near the emergency exit door...all at seperate tables! What a family dinner! The food was not great, waiter was nice and cordial but those are the only pluses. Needless to say our family spent $500 plus with this restaurant and we were treated like scum. Would NOT eat here again!

DO NOT EAT HERE! I used to have 4 stars at this buffet until last night. My husband and I went to eat here and as I approached the buffet where the pot roast usually is I saw a cock roach. It was a small house roach and it was crawling up the side of the buffet and went inside of it. I nearly vomited right then but I went back to my table and told my husband we are leaving now..and we did. I will never return to this place again. Roaches come out in the dark. This was broad day light and under tons of heat lighting. There are hundreds if not thousands more of these nasty roaches lurking elsewhere. Yes, I contacted management.

The service was awful, I asked for fresh banana pudding because what was out was brown and runny and looked old the lady took a fresh one out after rolling her eyes and put the nasty on top of the fresh, needless to say I didnt get any and got so upset at her for her actions we just left, if she doesnt want to work there she should quit and thank her lucky stars she rolled them eyes to where I couldnt reach her, very disappointed we wont be back anytime soon thats for sure

Food was very dry and no variety went in for lunch at 12pm and all the food was extremely dry, looked like it was left over from the night before and reheated. I called to speak with a manager and was told nothing he could or would do! This is the 2nd time Ive went in and have been extremely disappointed with quality and quantity of food. I feel they are way overpriced for quality and variety of the food. I WILL NOT BE VISITING A GOLDEN CORRAL ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!

After having a not so good experience with the food being either overcooked or undercooked, I alerted management who was literally rude to my face and everything but called me stupid. My server was the only good thing about the trip. Attempted to voice concerns to district/regional and the survey just to never get a single call back. This chain obviously has no intrest in customer experience, just hearding cattle through mediocre food at inflated prices.

Hands down the worst Golden Corral I have been too. No veteran discount, waitress took 20 mins to greet me, refilled my drink one time, food was old and not very tasty. Tried to get a piece of chicken from the grill and the lady told me to get the chicken on the bar that I didnt want because it looked old and dry. 2 mins later I see my waitress bring the guy behind me the same chicken I asked for on the grill. I will never return.

This place is a really great place to go eat because they have a large variety food to choose from and get your desserts to. This is one of the best golden Corrals I have visited and I have been to a lot. If you have a favorite food they probably will have it. I highly recommend going to this one to eat even if you had went to another one and had a bad experience you will not have it in the one in Kingsport Tennessee.

I normally LOVE this place! Went on Thanksgiving and it was super busy, so the food seemed rushed/not always done, but thats somewhat understandable. So I dont know about eating here for Holidays just because so many people have the same idea and it backfires. Any other time, though, this Golden Corral seems to have an AWESOME staff who makes great food. Steaks are always stellar, and they have A1 if you ask!

Went there with my family over heard a manager talking crap about other employees cursing unprofessional as can be and the service w,as not all that either I will never eat at the Golden Corral in Kingsport again and to my friends,family and co-workers I will suggest they also find another restaurant to visit, sorry to say but lack of an owner over seeing whats going on.
