Food City is typical of all other retail grocers in being MEDIOCRE at best! They sell over-processed, pre-packaged toxic-in-long-run foods that cause disease onset in ALL humans. The grocer busi ess concept is FAR BEHIND! America, we need to demand that geocers refuse to fraternize manufacturers who insist & consistently despite govt bans and lawsuits on putting excess & disease-causing ingredients in packaged foods such as: ▪ SODIUM/SALT - causes HBP then Stroke; ▪ WHITE or BROWN GRANULATED SUGAR - causes onset of Diabetes-2 leads to stroke and multiple Amputations; ▪ SORBITOL/ MALITOL/SUCROSE Sugar Substitutes - causes ▪ PALM OIL/COTTONSEED OIL/VEGETABLE OIL/SOYBEAN OIL - - know that ANY oil - - (other than E.Virgin Olive Oil Cold-Processed & Organically Grown Olives which is healthiest oil but still ONLY in moderation)- - ANY OIL is HIGHLY TOXIC ingested longterm and when heated is more toxic with far faster bloodstream delivery - causes a myriad of diseases such as Arthritis and more; ▪ HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP - - causes onset of Diabetes-2, MS multiple sclerosis, IBS irregular bowel syndrome, restless leg syndrome, migraines plus more, including cancer. ▪ CORN EXTRACTED INGREDIENTS of multiple names - - MAJOR cause of DIABETES-2 even if no family history of the disease. Not joking!!!! Found in EVERY PACKAGED CEREAL! ▪ PHENYLKETONEURICS - - Fou d in nearly every chewing gum. - Causes slow destruction of BRAIN CELLS plus MEMORY LOSS and Loss of Mental Focus/Concentration & Cognitive Functioning. Explains why your Fast-Food order is screwed up or your Morning Coffee tastes horrible one day! Employees cognitive capabilities arent functioning properly! The above is just a mere FEW on the toxicity list in the American Grocer Retail industry. An industry that is bent on aiding & abetting manufacturers for the sole purpose of GREED and CARES NOT ONE IOTA about the Excellent health of its loyal-customers who feel forced to use them as their only food supplier. The very same sickly, crippled customers that tell another customer all their medical woes as we all stand attentively listening to and wanting to tell these fellow citizens to simply find a better food supplier! In my opinion, FOOD CITY and every other grocer should be boycotted until every single manufacturer gets the message that we will no longer buy their DECEPTIVE, DISEASE-CAUSING FOOD PRODUCTS that are killing our wiser elders, our productive middle-age wage earners, our youngsters and our precious yet-to-thrive kids. Killing us all and were fed-up and were not gonna take it anymore by being blinded by pretty, sumptious food images anymore! We, hard-working American consumers working loooonng hours for mere dollars in return will also start online petitions against every Grocery Corporation and if need be every Food Manufacturer. Likewise, same for Organic Farmers & Healthfood Retailers. Start online petitions against EXPONENTIALLY HIGH PRICES for their food products & other goods. And against Organic Farmers charging retailers EXORBITANT costs to buy their harvested food products. And The U.S. Dept. Of Ageiculture for permitting & allowing this greedy monarchy to be created and persist in the first place. WHY?....WHY BOTHER? Ask that again when your loved one is having a stroke or a heart attack or tells you of a sudden diagnosis of a debilitative disease. Because turning your head the other way thinking itxs none of your concern is a total darn lie! BECAUSE WHATEVER HEREDITARY ILLNESS/DISEASE RUNS THROUGH YOUR BLOODLINE means YOUR DAY WILL COME and it wont, - guarantee you - it wont feel good, easy, nor simple AT ALL. So please, refuse to be a patsy or a bystander. The power of one can & will become the mightier power of many in starting online petitions. MAY GOD HELP US ALL

My friend and I went to this Food City this past saturday. We went to the deli to grab us a bite to eat. Some young guy with an attitude was working (his name tag said Brandon). He obviously didnt want to do his job, because everything you ask him, he acted like he didnt want to do it.. well, then we finally got our food... I got what was suppose to be chicken tenders.. it was more like leather dipped in batter and fried. and the oakra was the same way. it was so tough that a dog would have had a hard time chewing it and Im not exaggeratig either.. My friend got meatloaf.. it was blacker than a chunk of coal and old and tough also.. As we left, I thought I would go tell the manager. .. He had a bigger attitude than the punk in the deli.. He acted and looked like a redneck that had been picked up off the street and put a suit on.. He acted like it didnt concern him.. He offered to give us a refund.. then changed his mind.. Then I wrote a complaint to the corporate office and they just forwarded it back to the redneck jerk manager back at the food city on clinchfield.. He called me and tried to be nice in a smart allecy way.. he refused to refund my money for this pig slop they serve in this deli.. What they dont know is.. they just lost more than $14 dollars if they would have refunded it... they lost our business and Iam going to continue to spread the word about this place.

The ONLY Reason My Family And I Ever Go In This Store......1.) The Meat Department, and One Particular Worker (Jess Norton) She Knows How To Make Sure You Get Everything You Kneed For A Meal for 2 to A Buffett For 200. They Can Supply Any Need You Have For Any Event. And 2.) The Bakery/Deli. Ask for Misty Cox!! She can Supply You With Any Food You Need For Small Events or Meals. To Large Gathering/Meetings or Any Function. They Have Both Been There More Times Than I Can Count To Help Out With Personal Events And Company Events. Great Service!! Great Prices!! Stop In For A Visit

The food quality is ok. I wouldnt say it is the best or the worst. In the summer months the fruits and vegetables sometimes have either bugs in them or mold / fungus growing on it. Always turn your produce over before you buy there. The quality of meat and fish is not terrible great either. Everything has been frozen and thawed so it isnt really fresh and you can taste it. The staff is typically friendly and the store is usually clean.

Employees are very friendly. Everytime we take my husbands grandmother they always get someone to go with us to help her put groceries in the car and take the scooter back for her. They are good about having enough checkout lanes open too. The only downside is being downtown and we get ALOT of people bumming cash off of us. But the employees are good about running them off as long as they know whats going on.

The first time I went they employees were great and very nice. This time the cashier who checked me out and the guy who bagged my groceries were very nice. But the manager was extremely rude. I understand that I was checking out right as they were closing. But I did apologize. She should have had one of her more experienced cashiers on the register so that there wouldnt be any confusion.

Since adding wine, you are constantly reminded that this location is most definitely located downtown. People begging and scabbing cigarette butts make it feel unsafe. Oddly placed ATM in the parking lot make it hard to watch for traffic. Gas-N-Go is terribly cramped and right in the line of traffic. Dont go on food stamp day.
