Red brick bar & grill on the water. One block off US 27 but rather isolated nonetheless. Heavily wooded and paved walking trail on opposite shore of Richland Creek. Point Park on "lake" (backwaters of Tennessee R.) across the street. (The street, Chickamauga Dr., is more like a wide paved "path" passed Jacob Myers.) Outdoor balcony. Great views. Geese, ducks and swans and assorted birds. A resident ground hog. Sometimes a blue heron. Magnolia, large Crape Myrtle, and tall trees. (Taxonomic category: “wood.”) Includes a dock on the creek where boats tie up in the summer. Ample free parking in paved lot and across the street. (‘path’) Blue plate luncheons M-F. Lasagna on Tues. a specialty prepared by one of the owners who was a cook when they were downtown. A big hit with locals that is well deserved. UPS trucks lined up on the street every Tues. at the former downtown spot. Meat loaf on Thur. is excellent, a rarity in restaurant fare. Just like mother made. (Who was no slouch in the kitchen.) A very ample portion too. The lunch menu also offers an unusual and wide array of specialty sandwiches. Lunch begins at 11:00 a.m. Dinner is served from 4:00 p.m. till closing at 10 when the mouse runs down the clock. No breakfast. The dinner menu includes steaks, pastas, fresh catch of the day, chicken (hearty chicken fingers), large hamburgers, etc. "Etc." includes a batter dipped, french fried pickle. Homemade soups prepared by an owner. Desserts include superb cheese cakes and other items. No pies. Bar open. This is without question the #1 place for a Daytonite (similar to “kryptonite”) to eat, dine and relax. Preparing to reopen. Recently damaged by a metal roof which blew down in a storm from a large bldg. on a hill above and landed on the roof. Remodeled during repairs. Reopening should be any day as of this writing 6/11/2017. Bon appétit.

I went with three other people, and well be back! Fantastic food and service! Best place to eat in Dayton, TN! Appetizers: - Fried Green Beans: Delicious! Served with both ranch and their "Boom Boom Sauce." Both were delicious! - Garlic Herb Quesadilla: Recommend passing on this. We decided to splurge $1.99 to add "Santa Fe Chicken." The chicken wasnt super flavorful. This appetizer wasnt bad, it just wasnt good. It was mediocre. Compared to everything else at the table that was fantastic, this fell short. Entrees: - Crispy Chicken Tenders: Hand-breaded and yummy! I had with ranch and honey mustard. It came with their "Cinnamon Honey Mustard," which, I give them points for their creativity, but at first before I asked what it was, I thought it was cinnamon tartar sauce. - Grilled Salmon: Had a really nice sear on it, and dining companion really enjoyed - Fried Shrimp Platter (dining companion really enjoyed) - Dreamy Mushroom Pasta (dining companion really enjoyed) Sides: - French fries - Rice Pilaf - Steamed Vegetables - Shut Up Dawgs (a version of a Hush Puppy!) - Side salad (This is absolutely delicious! One of the best side salads I have had anywhere!) Desserts: (all delicious!) - Vanilla Bean Cheesecake - M&M Candy Cookie - Chocolate Chip Cookie - White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie Our server (a male, with a different name, something like Garon or Garion?) was attentive and helpful. This is by far the best restaurant in Dayton, TN.

While in Dayton visiting family, we went to Jacob Myers Restaurant based on recommendations of friends. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive to the needs of our large group (8 adults). Noise level at the beginning of our meal was tolerable, but, as the meal progressed, became almost unbearable thanks to someone bumping up the background "music". Those in our group who ordered sandwiches, burgers, and catfish fillets were all pleased with their orders. Three of us, however, had chosen boneless, skinless chicken breast, prepared in different dishes and cooking styles. All three of us found the chicken breast to be tough and almost impossible to cut. Considering the cost of these selections ($11.95 - $12.95), this is totally unacceptable. Side dishes for these dishes, while tasty, were *very* small portions for the amount of money charged. I doubt seriously if they were one-half cup in size. The vegetable medley (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and squash) were mostly squash and carrots with one piece of cauliflower and one floret of broccoli. Plus they tasted like they were frozen vegetables. Definitely not fresh. While a lovely location and with great wait staff, we will definitely not be returning for another meal. The quality of the meal just did not justify the cost.

Food is great when you get it. Have been twice and both times had to wait 45 - 60 min for a table. Then when we got seated we saw more than 7 tables empty. When I asked why were all these tables empty they said the kitchen couldnt keep up. Also, they allow first come seating in the bar area which not where I want to go and eat a nice meal. So the seating and promptness of service is terrible but once you get your food it is great!!

Our waitress, Venice was very attentive and friendly. She reminded us when departing to be sure and come back and see her again. As we were leaving at least 4 or 5 other servers asked if our food was good and reminded us to come back again and they were glad to see us. We will be back. And we gave the restaurant 5 stars and rarely give restaurants 5 stars cause there is always room for improvements.

It was understaffed, had several empty tables but still had to wait 30 minutes. Sweet tea was watered down and had no sugar. Ruben sandwich was good but had to send it back because it had no sour kraut . People at the next table had same issue with there sandwich. Still enjoy your place and will be back. Glad your back open. Details count. Thanks

This is my wife and my go to sit down restaurant! The staff are always friendly and pleasant. The service has always been excellent. The food is great, we try to get something different each time we come and have yet to find anything we did not like! Price is completely reasonable for the quality of food and service.

Worst $71 lunch ever, if the guest tells you that tbey dont like something and it doesnt taste goo and they didnt eat it, I would not charge them for it, let alone let them leave my establishment un happy. This is a disgrace . Cold food , stale bread and chips. Will not return. The Internet can be a powerful tool.

Our band plays in the area a couple of times a year and we always eat at Jacob Myers. Have never been disappointed. Dont remember the servers name but must commend her for getting our order in ahead of a very large group that probably would have made us late under normal circumstances.

Hostess was curt and visibly unhappy with her job, also was told a five minute wait time for one person and waited 20 minutes while multiple tables sat open and clean. The wait staff and food was excellent however and I think I will return when in the area.
