I hate saying this but the only reason this place is getting good ratings is because its basically the only bar in town and the locals seem to not know any better. Worst service EVER. I have been to loads of breweries and restaurants and never complained once but this place.. Upon arriving I should have taken the first hint of unwelcoming after our first initial interaction with a waitress after seating, I asked "What are your house brewed beers"? and the response was in a very fast, boring tone while looking in another direction “Numbers 1 and 2 on the board?" Let me remind you I was sitting near the window in the front entrance of the bar, the board is at the far end of the room behind the bar area. I have good vision but Im not super woman. Since she refuse to tell me I had to get up and go read the scrambled beer board in the back of the bar. We werent ready yet so she left and basically didnt come back. She didnt bother to stop and ask what we wanted, she past by and we had to get her attention as she was walking. She just shakes her head and keeps trucking. So it was 1 whole hour before first beer arrived. Waitress Shelby forgot to ring it in. (Surprise) Not even a “Sorry for your wait” Then 1 whole hour before food arrived (not exaggerating). We stopped the waitress and asked about the food situation after about 45 min, she says while walking away and no eye contact "Theres nothing I can do about that". So 2 hours in my first impression of the joint is out the window. Food arrives, finally and once again the waitress is no where to be found. I got the chicken avocado wrap and the chipotle ranch should have a warning on it. I can handle hot but this made my lips swell. We told the waitress and she literally said, while holding a clip board over her mouth "Sorry" rolled her eyes and went to the next table. Not a "Can I offer you another glass of water?" or "Can I get you something else?" Just her over all demeanor made the experience worse. She clearly didnt want to be there. She didnt ask if everything was ok there was no checking in on the table she drops the checks off and bounced. I left Monkey Town Brewery hungry, dissatisfied and very uncomfortable. My guest and I felt very awkward sitting there for nearly 3 hours. My 40 minute trip from Chattanooga just to try this place out was a bust. Never again.

So my brother and I had went to Monkey Town tonight. We had planned and looked forward to a good steak and my brother enjoys the brewery and beer selection. When we arrived, we sat down and ordered drinks. The only steak they offer is a ribeye (12oz). For anyone the appreciates a great steak, 12 oz. Is just a teaser. We inquired about a 16 oz. cut an were told they couldnt do it because they would have to open another package. We asked to speak to Kirby, the owner. After 30 minutes, we asked again knowing the message was never delivered. We were promptly told that Kirby said he was "too busy" to come speak to us. I asked for the tab at that point. This was not a social request, but one of a paying customer planning on drinks, appetizers and a full steak dinner. When the manger came by the table to ask if everything was ok, I told her that we had requested to talk to Kirby and he said was to busy to come out. I told the manger I,would go spend my money at Jacob Myers. Her simple reply was "okay !!". I guess Monkey Town makes enough money that customers are expendable. I am in the customer service industry and the golden rule is if the customer needs something, you make the time. Obviously Kirby doesnt hold this same sentiment. The result ??!!!..... on to Jacob Myers to spend upwards of $100 plus dollars Kirby doesnt need. Way to go Monkey Town.....we wont be back!! Its a small town and people talk. Itll either make a businnes or break a businnes. Very disappointing !!

Must have came in at the worst time imaginable. After being ignored for 20 minutes after I walked in, I asked the waitress at the bar, "Do I just sit anywhere?" "Yes",she replied. I walked to my table and waited and waited, Watched as ladies and gentlemen chatted it up at the fountain. So I approached, "Could I get a menu?", and returned to my seat. Tried to catch the attention of any passing server to no avail. Only after I exclaimed, "Excuse me Miss?" to a passing server did I even get acknowledged that I was trying to spend money here. I would recommend a hostess as this place is normally a wonderful environment until they are overwhelmed with visitors. I would hate to have this kind of experience anywhere. No matter how great the place is. Nothing is more frustrating than being ignored. One caveat, this is normally the best food and drink place in Dayton and they have added space and pool tables. If these issues are not addressed with more staff or a hostess, this will happen again and again as it becomes easier to get lost in the inevitable crowds.

The owner/brewmaster is a good guy, he usually has two taps of his own brew. Today I went there on the recommendation of my parents and found the atmosphere relaxed and cordial. I ordered the brewmasters IPA and found it rather like a wheat beer with no hoppiness to speak of. Not a problem since I switched beers with my girlfriend who thought she wanted the german gose, which I also like. The only problem I had was with the rueben I ordered. I dont recommend that sandwich. The rye bread was toasted/fried to a boardlike quality, and the corned beef was, well, "minced" I guess, or just chopped to hell on the flat grill. We also had the beercheese dip with pita chips that was very good. I tasted the other brewmasters offering from my mother beer flight which was a stout brewed with cherries, and he pulled it off, it was very good if you like stouts. Overall, food is meh, beer is good. He has about 14 or so taps with run of the mill craft beers. Overall grade: beer 8, food 5 PS. just dont order the rueben

I have to say that this establishment is great. I have walked into this brewery more times than I can count and every single time I am greeted by either the owner, bartender, or waitresses with a welcoming smile that really sets the tone for the entire visit. The food and beer selection that MTBC has is second to none in this area and is only that much better with the town being populated by mostly fast food. It is an awesome place to have a meal, or just to go after a long day at work to have a great beer. I would like to thank Kirby and all of his employees for bringing a wonderful and lively business to this town. 10/10 Would recommend

Went during the eclipse! They were packed which was awesome. Got to meet a lot of great people. There beers are awesome. I had the strawberry double IPA which sounds weird but it was surprisingly drinkable for an ipa and really tasty. The brown and out was also really good and had a good coffee flavor. The last and my favorite was the valley juice diet guava which is a Berliner Weisse. It was perfectly sour but not over the top. Even though it was slammed because of the eclipse our waitress checked in on us at least every 20 min. or so. I even ended up getting some beer to go. Highly recommend this place if youre anywhere near the area.
