First time here. TLDR - Average middle range Japanese place, theres probably some better in town but feeds the craving. Nothing to write home about. The place is unassuming from the outside but a nice size on the inside. The host was nice but did tell me they were short staffed and that whatever food I order would take a while even though the place was quite empty. I started with a green tea and a water. The waitress just brought a cup of green tea with a lemon on it. It would have been nice to get a pot as in most other places you can get a pot for this price, but she didnt charge me for the refill so they may be free who knows. The menu is quite big and yet after you read it there doesnt seem to be many options that you havent had before. I then ordered the house salad with the "house Osaka dressing", the miso soup, and the yakitori chicken. The salad came in a small soup bowl that seemed very small for the price. The lettuce of the salad was is soaked in water so the dressing got watery and it was weird. And the dressing was good but nothing to write home about. The miso soup was excellent but honestly I couldnt tell if its made from a packet or not. Finally the Yakitori chicken was great, good flavor almost like a sake glaze or something, good portion for the prize. I then ordered the Dragon Roll which came pretty fast and looked great. Presentation was neat and mostly unadorned. Texture was good, the rice was fresh and well made. However the roll didnt have much flavor. the unagi didnt come through at all. A bit overpriced for the quality. Finally I ordered Salmon Sashimi and a Tuna Roll. The sashimi was amazing, the salmon tasted fresh and fatty in a good way. It melted in your mouth like butter. The tuna roll was good the tuna was fresh, rice was good. This final set was very good. Overall, This is a very standard restaurant and thats ok. Its not great, for the prize they could do a little better presentation or portion change, but theyre alright.

Im rating their shabu shabu hot pot and service only not their other dishes. I ordered the kimchi broth, for $18.50 you get a good sized pot and protein but not enough veggies. This would be good for two small people to share or for one with a huge appetite. Broth was good, but more on the salty side. It didnt have a good balance of sweetness, sour and spicy which youd find in a lot of Asian soups. This is far from the traditional shabu which is usually in a very light bone broth, miso or plain water which you flavor yourself with the sauces they provide. Shabu broth is usually light in flavor so you can really taste all the fresh ingredients. Its not meant to be sipped throughout your meal, its more so to help flavor your meat during the cooking process (but theres really no right or wrong to it). The broth will slowly develop its intense, deep flavor while you dip all your meats, seafood and veggies in it, its meant for you to be enjoyed at the end when its full of flavor and delicious goodness!! My broth ended up being way too salty after all my veggies and proteins have been stewing and cooking in it. My server was great and did an amazing job. Id be back to try their other dishes. Found a piece of plastic in my hot pot, they basically said its from the crab stick and o well. Then I asked for green onion garnish, they charged me extra without telling me.

Avg hibachi. Much bigger issue was that we were there around 7:30 p.m. with our 12 year old son. Halfway through our meal our son says something about there being nude people on the television. When I looked to see the television which was in my sons view, I saw that they were not only nude but in a full blown sex scene. My husband went over to tell the manager who very nonchalantly picked up the remote control and change the channel. She did not apologize or make any comment about how inappropriate it was to have this showing on their television. When I went over to tell her how upset I was she only responded that she was sorry and that she had children too. At point, after I asked to speak to the owner Im , assuming she decided she might need to do something and she went to our server and tols her to take $6 off of our bill, and had our server come over and apologize instead of taking responsibility herself. This manager is worthless and has absolutely no business being in this position. Needless to say were pretty bummed about the fact that our son now has images in his head that we tried to shield him from every day. This is not OK.

Dont get me wrong the food was good, our sushi was well made, however during our sit i was eaten up by mosquitos as i killed two while sitting. I mentioned this to the server and he said it was normal because of the field next to them..okay well maybe spray or something it would be worth the investment. My ankle is swollen with 7 bites and I will be miserable for the next few days because of my reaction to bites. The food was good but not worth it to be eat up with mosquitos. My sisters who were with me also received a couple bites each. If you have bad reactions to bites stay away. Its is painful to walk today.

The service was great! But I am not sure if we will ever be back. The kitchen got steak, chicken and scallops done and out to us before tempura. We had to wait for about 15 minutes before the rest of our Birthday group got their food. I went to the manager to let her know that we were unhappy and she even knew that it took to long and never came to our table to apologize. Being in the restaurant business this should never happen. I did not want anything for free! Just an explanation or apology. There are more sushi restaurants out there to go to.

We went for lunch for the 1st time 02/12/15. Ordered 2 lunch specials and still didnt have them almost 35 minutes later. This after the hostess said they werent busy. We walked out with out eating as the food never came. We even asked for it to be boxed because it was running so late. Told the hostess on the way out and she just shrugged. Well not be back. Looks like they spent a lot of money on decor and none on training. Dont go there if youre in a hurry. I would have give "0" stars if the review would have allowed me to do that.

The food is awesome the manager is typically doing absolutely nothing behind the register resting while the 2 servers struggle to keep up .. today we were sat by the female hostess who found it funny that it was 10 mins before anyone noticed us .. this place could really make money if the manager would engage herself and act like a manager when u only have 2 servers... and there are 3 employees sitting down doing nothing to help there is a issue .. how ever the manager did get her food and service fast
