If I could give less than 1 star, I would. I called in an order to pick up on my lunch break. I stated 2 sushi rolls and shrimp tempura for my order. The lady that answered the phone and took my order stated that it would be ready in 10 minutes due to them not having any other call-in orders at the time. I waited for another 15 minutes before leaving my job, just to give extra time and to ensure that it would definitely be ready. Well, 30 minutes later I am standing at their register waiting on my rolls and waiting to pay. The waitress goes to check on my rolls. The chef was not even around. She had to find him in the back. Along with that, she then asked me..."What was the 2nd roll that you wanted, I wasnt sure?" So at this point, I knew that the 2nd roll that I ordered was not even ready. The chef comes in and informs me that he knows that he is slow. Another chef takes a phone call and proceeds to yell out loud, after hanging up on the customer, that time is money and he will not hold on. At this point, the sushi chef is supposed to be frying my shrimp tempura. Instead, he made a shrimp tempura sushi roll. The waitress thought that it was funny and told him that she would take the sushi roll that he had made and eat it herself and that he needed to make me the shrimp tempura. She then walks off with the sushi and forgets about me. She went to eat her sushi. I waited for 5 more minutes alone. I then decided that if they did not even care enough about me as a customer, then I would not be giving them my money or support for their establishment. I will NOT be eating here ever again. By the way, this is the 2nd bad experience that I have had with Shogun. I usually give 2nd chances...this was it!

The service was horrible! When we arrived the hostess asked us if we wanted a sushi menu and highly encouraged us to order sushi. We accepted the sushi menu and were seated. When we placed our order for the meal. We also placed order for 3 sushi rolls. The waitress told us that it will take a little longer on the sushi and that the chef would go ahead and start the cooking show. No problem. After our meal was done and we were getting to go boxes, the waitress explained that the shushi chefhad not even started our order. I told her we no lobger wanted it. the waitress became upset and started telling me that she tried to tell me in the begining it would take longer. I replied, "so what you were really telling me, is that the sushi was not going to be made?" She replies, "YES! I tried to tell you! Everybody always gets upset with ME when the order doesnt get made! I tried to tell you in the beginning!" Wow, she was yelling at me about it! She also refilled my sons ice tea and spilled tea and ice all over him! The two compartment dipping sauce she brought to my family, i really think had already been used! The sauge had pieces of rice and seseme seeds already it it and they were filled to different levels and looked sloppy, I really think she may have removed them from another table, got confused and served them to us! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!

Been coming here for 16 years. Was my favorite place to eat for quite a few years of those 16. However, in the last 4 or 5 years the ownership has changed a couple of times & it has steadily gone downhill. While the prices have steadily gone up. And up. And up. The manager/owner now appears to be completely out of his element. Cannot stay focused or organized. Rude to his staff, indifferent to his clientele & clueless as to how manage a restaurant. The food is still ok. Not as good as it used to be, but not terrible. But its finally become too much. Ive easily spent a few thousand dollars here over the years. Tonight is the last cash Shogun gets from me, unless the ownership changes again (for the better). Moving on to Stix in Collierville for our birthday dinners. Sad.

There is one table-chef that would prohibit me from going to this location again. While all the other "japanese" chefs were doing the fancy preparation as you expect, our chef was different. When he began, he let out a big sigh (as if he hated his job), then he did the minimal-ist "show" he could. Both my wife and I noticed the "big I hate my job sigh" at the begging of our "show". So you might benefit from our experience I will describe this chef. He had a big name tatoed on his neck on his left-side. He didnt appear Japanese. If you get him, sorry, but you should have gone to Benihana as we will in future Japanese dinners... On a lighter note, my 6 year old did not notice, but my 14 yr old noticed his dont-give-a-hoot show....

Took a co-worker here for his birthday, its his fav. They got all of our orders wrong more than once, they never gave us refills even when asked, unless it was for alcohol. My rice was not cooked, i ordered white rice not fried. The staff was INCREDIBLY rude, we did not get asked if we wanted anything else, they disappeared with our payments and checks for over 20 minutes at the end of dinner and only gave them back when asked, twice. The best part? The man we took for dinner ordered fried crab app... when he tried to eat it the crab was still wrapped (and fried and breaded) in PLASTIC!!!!! The manager said "its clear plastic no big deal no discount no re-do youll be ok " and walked away... Do not go here

Do not eat here! We were seated ten minutes after we arrived. Four different employees walked right past us, looked at us, and ignored us. After I finally asked if they were closed another waitress on break seated us and then later had to hunt down our waitress to make her bring us drinks. The food was edible but not even remotely near good. The salad was DRENCHED in dressing, the soup tasted like cheap chicken broth, the portions were small, the steak was bland, and the shrimp and vegetables are covered in sauce. To top all of this off, both of us are already feeling sick to our stomach. While Osakas isnt my favorite restaurant, I would pass this up and drive straight to it.

I am totally dissatisfied with the service we received here! We had reservations for 6:00. It was 6:25 when we sat down which we didnt complain about because some of us were late. 8 of us in the party total. Celebrating 2 birthdays. We sat there 20 mins before drink orders were taken and after another 30 mins of waiting, there was still no chef! I asked the waiter how much longer wed have to wait and he said 5 mins. Well another 15 mins passed and still no service. So we waited over an hour for service that never came before we just got up and left. AWFUL doesnt explain what we went through. Especially celebrating birthdays. I wont recommend this place to anyone!

We went for lunch. Not too crowded and the family that sat near us had obviously been here many times. Their son ordered the sushi boat and it looked amazing. We had the Edamame app and the sushi five pc app. The Edamame wasnt hot enough so we got it to go. The five pc sushi app had only four but was delicious. The lunch combinations are generous portions. Very generous! Had to take a box, it will feed us one more time. Chicken and shrimp done perfectly and seasoned well, the filet mignon done perfectly medium rare and also seasoned well. If not for the app hiccups, I wouldve given five stars. This is a great place.
