If you like the feel of the Benihana, then this place comes close. The few things that stand out NOT being Japanese is of course there is no towels, you keep your shoes, making it feel very western. The filet mignon is excellent, if you like sauces the horseradish sauce is the best with the steak, skip the sesame one, but to be honest I feel that steak sauce is only to cover up inferior meats, which you don’t need here! The sushi has more of a Californian influence with most rolls being in that style. They are not the traditional type (all inside out), and their specialty rolls are too big in diameter! However I do enjoy the ‘cowboy’ roll that is steak/crab.. Ok it’s not real sushi but it’s good. Their sashimi & other rolls are ok, but uninspiring. It feels like what it is, and that is a very westernized Japanese place in Tennessee. It’s not bad, but it’s not the real thing. Go there for the steak & the various table tricks (I think everyone does the onion volcano trick) but the sushi is ok at best. While I may feel it to be an “average” place, considering it’s in Clarksville makes it an above average choice.

A japanese steak house used to be all about the chef and his entertainment. He could make so so food great if he was entertaining and fun. Tonite was the last time I spend money in this joint. Neither hostess, server, nor chef smiled or made us feel welcome. The food was burnt, yes the grille was way too hot. We had 11 in our party for a Bday and it just plane SUCKED! I will NOT go again. go to Sakura, or Shoguns, or Yamotos. Anywhere but here. I love to eat but this is not the place. We did not get offered desert, just the overpriced bill...and we asked and ate desert. Its all about the money and moving people in that place. They oughta be ashamed and yet theres always a wait at the door. Sushi has never come out before dinner...ever. Adios! HanaNOki

My wife and I walked in with some friends of ours and sat down for our wait, which they said would be 10 minutes. We looked around at all the lights and outlets and noticed there had to have been an issue with the wiring because they were covered in a black hue. After an hour wait we were seated and given the worst waiter ever. Spilled soup on my friends wife, spilled soup near my wife, brought me sweet tea with no sugar. This guy was the worst, but that wasnt all. The grill was dirty and I had to ask for it to be cleaned before they started cooking, then the chef cooked one thing at a time, making it a three hour meal. They have lost my business forever and if it was tore down and they built another restaurant there, I wouldnt eat out of there just in spite.

At one time, at the old location near the CoOP, Hananoki rocked. Since the construction of the new place, near Lowes, a few years ago, the food quality went way down and prices when way up. Prior to the move, we ate here atleast 12 to 13 times. It was awesome and authentic. Now, they are lucky if we even look at it when we drive by. Their food is grose and the attitude of the staff is crapy at best. The cost of their new building was passed to the customer in the way of cheaper quality food and higher prices. They should have stayed where they were. The old location is now called Kohanas and they are way cheaper in price but far better in food quality. In fact, Kohanas is the cleanest place in town and has the nicest staff to greet you. Try it some time.

Havent been to this location in a while but its gone WAAAYYY down hill! We went for a birthday and the hostess would not put the cake in the fridge even though it would melt at the hoot table. Drink (only ordered one) was extremely watered down to the point it was basically water with some flavoring. Service wasnt bad. BUT, my check came with an included tip-which I understand is fairly usual with a part of six (6), BUT we had a party of four (4). AND, the signature page was on top with only the total so i would not have known the tip was already included if I hadnt of wondered why my bill was over $150 for two adults and two children and checked the page behind it. Overall poor experience.

We love dining out where the food is cooked in front of us. However this time our dining experience was very bad. Service was good, manager was the worst and charges were very poor. Paid for a 21 dollar meal but got way less then 21 dollars worth. Also bought a childs meal which was lacking on the food portions too. When it was brought to the atten of the manager she did nothing to fix the problem or even discount the meal. To top it off I was also charged a gratuity fee of 13 dollars. When we only had a party of 3! Heads up to anyone that works hard for their money, dont go to this place. They look for any and every reason to rip you off.

The people working in this restaurant are in need of attitude adjustments and a simple concept of consideration. Quality of food is no reason to hold ones integrity and patience hostage, especially at these prices. If you are looking for great sushi and sashimi in a subdued and quiet atmosphere, then please try Fujiyama. Fujiyama does not have hibachi but anything and everything else a sushi restaurant has to offer. Dont let Hananokis shiny beads trick you into giving up something more significant than $...your pride.

The food is always amazing when I visit, I never have any complaints. I just want to give a HUGE thank you for dealing with my group last night. I had a friend visiting who was very rude to you guys and you didnt let it affect your service at all. I want to apologize for you having to deal with it, but I do thank you for not letting it affect you and allowing the rest of us to enjoy our night out. Youre our favorite sushi stop in Clarksville!

The service is absolutely HORRIBLE! They advertise false prices and charged us $5 extra dollars for a child under three who wasnt eating. They take FOREVER to come cook you food. We literally waited 45 minutes before we up and left because they hadnt come to cook yet. When we asked about it, the server (b at the front) said it was because they were trying to fill up the table. 45 MINUTES!!! Service is horrible and staff is rude.

When I walked in at 5:45 pm on March 7th the waitress/bartender was standing there chewing on her fingernails. Her fingers were in her mouth. After I was seated I watched her take her fingers out of her mouth she them scooped out my ice and brought me my diet coke. I had seen enough to know if they are that dirty and nasty in plain sight that I did not want to eat there. This is a major health and saftey violation. NASTY!!!!
