Attending some training in Rock Hill, I did a little research to find a good local place to eat. When Im out of town, I always prefer to find a place the locals enjoy, rather than the typical chain restaurants. Having read the reviews, I settled on The Shrimp Boat for lunch. With a name like that, I had to try the calabash shrimp. The lady taking my order at the counter was very friendly. I paid her the $9.32 she rang up, added $2.00 for a tip and went to my table. Within just a few minutes, my order arrived. It ended up being a challenge to eat, as the flimsy plastic fork provided literally would not pierce the overcooked shrimp. It was so crispy, I had to scoop them up to eat. The fries were your standard, unremarkable, "diner" crinkle cut fry. I washed it down with the water I ordered... which came in a tiny cup that couldnt have been more than 6 ounces. In the end, I left less than impressed. After dropping off my food, the waitress never returned. The shrimp was overcooked. I emptied my water in two sips. I dont foresee being back in Rock Hill again, but I would be interested in trying the chicken, as it seems to be their specialty. This meal was mediocre, at best, and certainkly wasnt worth the $11.32 it cost.

DONT GO HERE! First of all I called and ordered a seafood platter and 12 wings as a pickup order. It took over 50 minutes for my order to be completed. My seafood platter came with a piece of fish, 3 shrimp, and 3 scallops. News flash shrimp boat this is not a platter its a snack. The fish was mediocre and the shrimp and scallops tasted like frozen pre-breaded seafood. Most of the staff was RUDE! In fact I overheard a member of the kitchen staff tell a call-in customer to look at the menu online instead of answering the customer simple question about the type of chicken they offer. WTF! The only reason Im rating shrimp boat 1 Star is because the cashier seemed to care why her customers are waiting over 50 minutes. Too bad she doesnt work in the kitchen. If she didnt work here there I would rate them ZERO STARS!! My advice is take the time to ride to Fort Mill and go to Captain Steves. Its worth the drive and they at least appreciate their customers.

I place a order tonight and was told that it will be ready in 15 mins and when I get their to only find out that they are close. The fact that someone saw me walke up to the door and let me pull on it and didnt say anything to me blows my mind not only that but to get a phone call 6 mins after I left wanting to confirm a pick up As if I never made it there at all, then to ask me how long will it take for me to come back and pick it up BLOWS MY MIND! Heres a little hint before taking a order at night make sure you let them know that they will need to be there prior to 10pm because after 10 the doors will be locked and you will not get your food!

Terrible. I get food that is old, cold and been reheated. The breading is falling off of the old fish. Its terrible. When I call back and ask the lady is rude to me. Says I have to bring it back. I am at work. Im not holding on to this until tomorrow. That policy is crazy. And I paid $12.00 for my food. I wont be going back there Ever again. Bad customer service and food. Spare yourself the trouble, dont go!! :(

I just got off of the phone with a woman from this place a few minutes ago about an application and she was VERY rude! She rushed me off the phone and as soon as I started to speak she said "listen sweetie, Im in a rush and I dont have time to talk to you about no application". I understand being in a rush but she was very rude about the whole situation and she couldve directed me to someone else or handled it better

Awesome Chicken and Onion Rings. I always look for great local places when I travel and this one lived up to the Hype for the Chicken. One warning, Google Maps had the location 1.5 miles off from the actual location when I went. I submitted a notice and hopefully it will be fixed soon. If you are looking for the location, it is 1.5 miles further off of the interstate.

My sister, not knowing the Carolinas, bought me fantail shrimp. They were good, no they were great. But I think that if she had gotten calabash or popcorn shrimp it would have been phenomenal. Who cares! Its the chicken stupid! It is some of the best fried chicken I have ever had--thank God Dad got a bigger chicken meal than he could eat, I got the rest.

Ive been eating here for 30 years, but no more. The food is no longer consistent, it may be burned, or not done at all. The service is absolutely deplorable. It use to be worth the wait, now its not worth the phone call. They have made some really bad choices where staffing is concerned, theyre rude, & unaccommodating. Never again

This was my first time coming here, And I order my food at 5:29 at 6:10 I still dont have my food. Been waiting on the manager for 15 minutes to tell her about this bull.... I will NEVER come back.. However the Waitress was really sweet... Terrible. If I could give this spot NEGATIVE STARS I would...

Some rude man was yelling in the kitchen at several employees. He was loud and very unprofessional. He did this several times while we were waiting on our meals. I believe he was the cook. He had on a red hat. He was very rude and nasty. I felt bad for the servers amd the customers in tne store.

Good is great but the past 3 times Ive been there I had to wait 45 minutes for my food. Add busy add they are, they seemed to have a little bit of staff in the kitchen. Its best to call in your order and wait 45 minutes before you pick it up because the lobby is always crowded

Not quite sure what some of these people are talking about. Been going there for over 20 years now, and never had a bad experience yet! Food is always piping hot, and they arent kidding when they say "Aint no Chicken, like Shrimp Boat Chicken!" The place is always packed!!!!

I generally love this place but this particular visit my chicken was cold and I waited an extra 30 minutes pass the 15 min I was told my order would be ready. My fries were cold and the fried okra was overly salty but at least it was hot.

First there is no soap or toilet paper in bathroom and dirty. Then they get our order wrong so Im sitting here while my whole table eats and I dont to top it off all the fries are soggy and nasty. Thank you I will never come back here

Their seafood platter sucks and the fries was soggy I was very disappointed I would not recommend no one to go here it was a waste of a drive and money I think they are under new management cause its not the same like it use to be
