My friend and I planned a weekend at Myrtle Beach last weekend. I really wanted this weekend to be super fun! Any ways let me get down to my review. The location was exciting since places that look a little run down are usually delicious! Mind you, I did not research this place like I did everywhere else we went, which now I know I should have. When we first walked in, the waiter told us to stand and wait for him to return. We did as instructed. When he finally sat us down we thought he would be a very nice server, but instead just laid down the menus, not even saying welcome, and left us. When he returned to take our orders he was not very helpful. I knew what I wanted to order, but my friend, was looking for some advice from the server. Not only was he RUDE! but also left us with a... "I dont know what you like". Anyways, the food was ok... Certainly NOT the BEST THAI FOOD! ... here is the cherry on top. After paying the bill, the guy immediately runs to the table and we needed a bag for our leftover food. He comes up to my friend saying "You didnt leave me a tip?!" "are you not going to leave me anything?". She did leave a tip... and in my opinion for this kind of service TOO MUCH! I was super upset!!!!! How dare they treat us that way!!!!!

EXCELLENT! Listen we are from the islands and have traveled ALL OVER THE WORLD and this was a jewel of a restaurant! Mom in the back running her kitchen cooking homemade delicious COMPLETELY HEALTHY food that only moms can do. You eat here and I promise you that you will be 100% satisfied. We are from Atlanta where there are numerous authentic Thai restaurants and NONE have come close to this. Every bite was like OMG. The service was exceptional. I never leave reviews but this one had to be left. We did eat once at the restaurant next door that us also Thai and thought it was strange these two were next door to one another BUT one of THEIR waitors stated to my husband that the owner, his employer (Thai Lao) used to be an employee of the next door Thai Cusines and then stold that sweet womans entire menu and opened up NEXT DOOR TO HER and then tried to steal her customers! And said they actually sit back and laugh about it! I was so angry paid the bill and left! Then we tried Thai Cusine and OMG what a difference! So.. Thai Lao I hope you fail because Karma is a... If you go to Thai Lao you should be ashamed of yourself! Imagine if that were your mom that was done to. Try and see the difference for yourself.

Horrible Experience! Not greeted at all when my wife and I entered, though the restaurant was not busy at all; considering it was winter time and the whole town is vacant I would have thought they appreciated every single potential customer. Now the food part. Appetizer: we ordered chicken satay. the chicken was extremely dry. normally this dish come with a cucumber relish/salad, in this case it was cubed cucumber with cheap Italian Dressing and the peanut sauce was freshly squeezed out a condiment tube. Main Course: My wife ordered garlic shrimp. the shrimp itself was not thoroughly cooked and tasted frozen, the cabbage in the dish were the end/hard pieces, the broccoli was not even tossed in with the food to warm and was placed out of the fridge on to the plate. I ordered Chicken Drunken Noodles that were over cooked, with bean sprouts that tasted spoiled, the chicken had all the fat trimmings still on it and everything was piled in a mound. Presentation was horrible. after raising everything to their attention we were looked at as if we were still supposed to eat it. we payed for our drinks and walked out. Stay Away!

Friggen awesome. I am talking out-of-this-world. Best Tom-Kha-Gai (coconut soup), red curry (real thai eggplant cooked to perfection) and som tom (papaya salad) I have ever had, and I am a Thai Snob. Best ever. I am here on business, and I will eat there again tonight. If youre a fan of Thai dont miss this. Speaking to the cleanliness and "dive" status, I totally disagree. This is not a fancy restaurant, its got some character, in an older building. In the world of electro-lit Myrtle Beach- its a gem, some real personality. There was nothing unclean about the place, and my waitress was charming, authentic, and perfect English to boot. You will not be disappointed! Real kaffir lime leaves and galangal, authentic flavors, with no American "substitutions." Now- I did spent $20 on soup and curry. Not cheap but worth it.

DO NOT GO THERE AT ALL. It would be a waist of time, money, and a bad experience. Not a welcoming place. Hygiene is zero for both the place and its staff. One family we met there was complaining about the food they had. It didnt look good. The waitress was arguing instead of listening to their complaint. HORRIBLE! We left right away and never thought about that place anymore. We know good Thai restaurant back home in Connecticut that we visit regularly. This one should just be closed. Unfortunately, I have to give it 1 star. It hurts me so bad, because I wanted to give it zero star.

The food was excellent. I had the Thai fried rice with chicken and Shumai for my appetizer. The staff seemed nice, however the server was not welcoming. She placed my menu on the table and proceeded to walk towards the back and when she returned did not ask me what I wanted to drink. While watching her interactions with other customers was entirely different. I did not feel that same embrace as others. Hardly came to my table or asked if I wanted another drink. I gave a high rating for the food. Friendly, but not engaging. Still would recommend though.

I knew this place had recently changed staff after sliding down hill last year, so I did my typical Shrimp Pad Thai test. The noodles were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The bean sprouts had that fresh pop and taste. However the shrimp were overcooked by about 2 minutes and a little tough. I would have given 4 stars BUT there were no crushed peanuts!! Wow! How do you serve Pad Thai missing a main ingredient? If they would remember the peanuts and only cook the shrimp for 3 minutes TOPS, this could be the best Pad Thai at the beach.

The food itself was one dimensional and average at best. The service is HORRENDOUS! Our server was condescending and forgot our orders multiple times. I was shocked at our servers attitude towards the restaurants shortcomings. I had to wait ONE HOUR AND THIRTY MINUTES just to get my food. I saw 3 groups walk IN and OUT of the restaurant BEFORE I got my food. Granted we were a larger group but, if you cant serve large groups then, dont have tables that accommodate such groups. I will not be coming here again.

I rated this 4 stars but it keeps coming up with 5 .. ? My cousins wife is from Thailand and says this is the real thing. I loved almost everything we tried. This is the only Thai restaurant she will let us go to . . . we usually do lunch so I cant comment on the dinner prices. We got plenty to eat for lunch and the pricing seemed reasonable to me for lunch. Somewhat off the beaten path but not really hard to find.
