HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! My date and I had a taste for sushi on Friday, May 13, 2016, so we decided to try Tsunamis. After waiting 20 minutes to be seated, we ended up being seated in a section with a waitress who was too busy with bigger parties to serve us. After waiting for nearly ANOTHER 20 minutes after being seated, we realized that no one had even come over to say hi or take our drink orders. We noticed that a waitress came over to the table directly next to us and began to take the order of a couple that had just sat down, despite the fact that we were there first and had been waiting for at least 20 minutes at this point. I called that waitress to our table and asked if she could get whoever our waitress was because we had been waiting for a long time. She said she would check to see who our waitress was, and 10 minutes later, we still had not been served and had not even put in a drink order at this point. My date and I proceed to get up because at this point we were both livid and decided not to patronize this horrible business. On the way out, I told the hostess that we were beyond displeased with our service and asked to speak with a manager. The manager (or at least she said she was the manager) came out and instead of apologizing and doing whatever she could do to get us to stay, said that the person who was our waitress was busy with a large party. I was expecting her to offer to serve us immediately and at least offer to cover the bill considering that we had been sitting for 30 minutes WITHOUT ANY SERVICE WHATSOEVER!!! This was s horrible experience and this was my last time coming to Tsunamis. My date and I ended up going a block down the street to Sushi Murasaki where we were seated and served immediately!

One of the worst dining experiences of my life! My grandson chose this restaurant for his 21st birthday dinner. The food was good, but not great. Ive had better at much lower costs. The service was lousy. The atmosphere was that of a beer dive, not a nice restaurant. A large table of young adults who acted like they were in a football stadium was seated behind us. We couldnt even carry on a conversation at our table, as they literally yelled profanities to the top of their lungs to others in their party seated at the opposite end of the table. When my son-in-law complained to the owner, one of their party yelled "You are the one making a scene", and one of the "ladies" (I use the term lightly, as she was obviously pregnant and drinking sake) , yelled "We are NOT at your house!". EXACTLY.....youre in public, where there are other patrons that deserve a peaceful dining experience. Does no one have any consideration for others anymore? Well, the owner did nothing about the middle-schoolesque thirty-somethings, who then increased the volume of their vulgarities out of spite. As we rose to leave, the rowdy crowd started yelling at us, so she (the owner) literally SHOVED me out the door before they became violent, while the inept red-haired waitress weighted down with body piercings made a snide comment, something to the effect of "Yall need to go".She was right....we did, only we should have gone long before that so we wouldnt have the regret of spending one thin dime in this low-class establishment. NEVER AGAIN.

I came here thinking about sushi then looked through the menu and decided to try their udon soup instead. The soup came in a deep bowl thats about 6 inches wide. The soup was good and very filling. The one thing that this place may need to do is talk to their young employees about their attitudes. I witnessed a lady (who I believed was the owner) tell one of the girls that she needed to tie her hair back. That girl replied back "But its cute" (in a little braty voice) and started to pull her hair back while walking through the dining area. Really? Thank goodness she wasnt my waitress. The girl that I had was sweet snd polite.

The worst experience at any restaurant Ive had in a long time. The establishment was louder than any bar/club in Greenville. The waiter couldnt even hear that I ordered an appetizer. I had a glass full of semi sweet tea ( I asked for sweet tea) and no ice! It melted within 2 minutes. *** A large party in the back was screaming "show your tits" for 2 minutes straight. Everyone was looking at them but the waiters did nothing. I wanted to leave sooooo bad. It took me 10 minutes to find a parking spot because there is no dedicated parking. Avoid this place. I eat everywhere and review the good and bad.

The prices are great. The wait staff on our evening left much to be desired. The hostess seated us with a begrudging tone. We were seated in the area next to the bar ( alcohol bar). We waited for more than ten minutes and a waitress never talked to us. FInally, I got up and asked the hostess if we could move to the sushi bar in order to get service. We moved, and the waitress in that area was more attentive. Lots of potential here but they need to get their wait staff up to par. My advice current advice, skip Tsunami and try Red FIn. The prices are higher, but its worth it.

Dont even think about going to eat at Tsunami in Columbia, SC unless you are dressed to the nine! We heard such great reviews about this restaurant so we drove downtown payed $5 to park and it was a complete disappointment! They said that we couldnt eat there because we were not dressed appropriately and kicked us out of the restaurant. Last time I check Columbia, SC is no were near Hollywood status! I mean come on they still have a Piggly Wiggly in town! Better off going to Saki! Dont waste your time or money at Tsunami Sushi

I am an avid sushi eater. If vibrant means having 8-12 sushi orders for other tables lined up on the sushi bar that you are eating, then I am not a fan. Then having waitresses constantly reach over and around you to get their orders...not a relaxing environment. The quality of the fish is so-so and the roll list is what I consider very "foo foo". There was hardly any nigiri going out and the sashimi platter was marginal. No uni. What sushi restaurant doesnt carry Uni?

Why I love this restaurant: 1. The sushi is the best sushi around 2. The staff is very kind and appear to genuinely enjoy their jobs I love this place and will go here any time I am craving good sushi and a good time. Its a favorite spot among my friends and we visit there often. It certainly isnt the cleanest or cheapest sushi restaurant, but that has never stopped us from going here. If you love tuna... try the creamy, spicy tuna or the tuna trio appetizer.

Atmosphere was great. Service... not so much. Dont expect them to keep their reservations. Forgot about us, multiple times. Dont bother making any. In fact, just go in and bother the hostess until she seats you. If they forget you, it is because they thought you left. Sushi was alright. Not the spider roll. Just alright. Nothing great. Price was somewhat decent, considering what youre going for — bad service, ok sushi and drinks. Have at it.
