A lot of the "supposed" Japanese steak houses are just fake. The place looks a lot like the others but the people are ACTUAL Japanese people! The service was really good, the food was great not to mention traditional, the cooks really interacted with you too. I didnt get a chance to try the sushi my son isnt interested in it, but the soba (fried noodles) were great be aware though that they are the large noodles not the small ones like you find in a ramen packet! Portions were enough to eat there and take some home. The ginger sauce really impressed me and the white sauce was great too but was a bit spicey so again some like this and some dont. The meal went the same as a lot of places with the soup and salad coming out first, then the chef came out you got your little shrimp first to kind of snack on, then the veggies, rice, steak and last but not least the chicken! Also the owner was there the night we were he was REALLY nice, when we left and gave a comlement he was very kind and cutreous and truly happy to have people eating at his steak house! As far as I am concerned AWESOME foot great taste and really cool people DEF a good place to head to and eat for the WHOLE family! PS the google map is kind of off with the street view it is a OLD picture and the empty lot has since become a strip mall which contains Sakura!

Extremely bad service, arrived at 630 and was immediately taken to a table as we had a reservation. Waited ten minutes after being seated for the hostess to come and ask for our drinks(2 waters,2teas) and this was only after the other chairs had been filled. We were there until 750 and during that time our glasses were only filled twice, and this was only after we had brought it to the attention of the lady who cleans the tables. When I went and asked the hostess if I could speak to a manager about our service, she seemed agitated that I had inconvenienced her. After explaining my situation to someone who claimed to be a manager about the drink situation and of our waitress asking us if we wanted to-go boxes for our food, when we werent even finished eating. She made the "claim " that they were busy ( not a good excuse). I made my frustrations extremely clear that I would not be coming back to spend my hard earned money on nominal food and piss poor service.

Ordered the $10 3-roll lunch special and a yaki-udon. The rolls were very low quality. A lot of tempura flake filler in the spicy "tuna" and spicy "yellowtail" rolls, and mostly cream cheese in the philadelphia roll. The yaki udon had NO flavor. Basically they just put hot water with udon noodles and the other toppings... To add to the horrible experience, the soy sauce was the cheap "Kari-Out Co" brand you get at Chinese Takeout restaurants. If they are going to charge premium prices, they should make a better attempt to make the food taste like something, and should use higher quality ingredients / materials. If you are looking for a bettter sushi experience, I definitely recommend Miyabis, Sushi Masa, or Tsunamis downtown. Ill give this place another shot in a month or two to check for improvement as the location is convenient, and update this review, but until than, 1 Star.

I am Asian (Hong Kong) and have been living in the US over 15 years. Based on my dining experience there, i have the following comments: 1) the sushi is not gd, me and my wife ordered the boston roll and california roll, the fish was fine, but the rice was too hard and too lose (couldnt hold the sushi together), dont have the rich and tenderness, in conclusion, we can tell the sushi chef is not very adequate at making sushi 2) the hibachi was ok, we had steak (NY strip) and salmon~ the fried rice could have been better (drier), the veges could have cooked a little longer (so the carrots wont be so tough), and steak medium rare was little over, the salmon could have been seared better; but i must give that the teriyaki sauce on the salmon was good. but then it comes back to a point that i think the sauces for the food should be a supplement, not the main ingredient.

1 star is the least I can give. We have been here many of times and this time has made it so we will not return EVER. They didnt acknowledge my daughters birthday. Also when I ordered my steak it was very well done and my husband asked for it off the grill, I ordered it rare. Both my kids got shrimp and chicken, they didnt want to eat there chicken, I insisted, then my oldest said try it mom, I did. It was the driest chicken I had ever tasted. When the check was brought we pulled the man to the side not to disrupt the other patrons he said to talk to the owner, a lady who had been over the phone for awhile, all she did was apologize, did nothing to try and make it right. When asked if the guy was new, no he had been there a year. We will never go back, when you spend good money for food, thats what you should get.

Favorite Sit-Down Japanese in Town # of Times Visited: Been there three times. Twice to the Hibachi grill and once to the general serving area. Food: cooked just to my specs. Thoroughly delicious. Not the best Ive ever tasted by definitely above par. My favorite sit-down Japanese in town. Service: service the first time was sub par, but the last two times were fine. Kept the my drinks topped off. The grill guys are very good; they keep things lively. Atmosphere: grill area has nice panel-work to give dojo feel. Common eating area has slightly weirder seating and more modern music. Prices: $15 for Chicken Hibachi, $17 for Steak Hibachi, includes cup of Miso soup and bowl of salad. The price was a little on the high side on first glance, but when they bring you the portions, the prices arent so bad.

Cant attest to the food because we didnt get that far. WARNING: this place did not honor our Groupon! While we did come in btw 15-20 min before they closed for the afternoon, the kitchen was already "closed," when we showed we werent pleased we were offered the option of take out. We agreed to consider that option since we came in so close to their closing time. But as we were looking a the menu we told that our Groupon was for dine-in only. Never did they offer to let us use the Groupon for take out since they were still technically open, according to Groupon and the sign on the door. We left 10 minutes until their closing time shaking our heads. Groupon returned the money after 4 -5 days.

Was a party of five. We had arrived 30min before happy hr was ending. Was told to wait thinking they were going to set up a table for us since there were multiple 4 seat tables. We waited there 15min before we walked out. Apparently they didnt want our $. But thats ok. We went to Ruby Tuesday. Had good food and great service. My wife and I think about going back but we have decided we are never going back. Who tells customers to wait when there are at least 8 tables available. Yes I counted. We were there are 15min . Best part is they missed out on a bill over $100 and i wont be spending my hard earned money on a place where they dont value the customers.
