Ordered chicken chow mein, expected noodles and something similar to orange chicken. Got thin slices of chicken (like the chicken style in yellow rice) in a clear stew like mix of vegetables. Couldnt even see noodles really. Not sure if it was just how they make it (only reason not 1 star) or got wrong order. Threw out but called and asked for refund...mentioned I primarily expected noodles and chicken which consisted of 10% of what they gave me in the stew. They told me that was their chicken chow mein and I ordered the wrong thing. No refund and their website (ordered online) gives no description or pic for the meal. *Apparently they have chicken chow mein on their menu 2x, under Combo Plates and under Chow Mein. I ordered Combo which contains only rice and no noodles...and is a completely different style dish. Still feel jipped and guy still refused to consider a refund. He definitely never considered assuming customer could have even been half right.

This has been or go to Chinese take out for about 2 years. We use it about once a month. The standards are good and servings plentiful. Orange chicken, sesame chicken Tso, etc are all good. You can sub fried rice for white rice with all meals and we always do that. However, the fried rice is very weak compared to what I have gotten at others. It has essentially no pieces of pork, carrot, etc and occasionally has a few onion bits. Taste is decent but needs something besides rice in it. Egg rolls are good. Based on good serving sizes, prices are very fair. Depending on if one of the ladies is working or the owner (?) means service is with or minus a smile. The gentleman at the register needs a bit of people skills schooling. Wonton and egg drop soup are good although the wonton can be a bit salty sometimes.Overall it is a good steady place. However after trying Ho King up BBD, I will likely never return to China City

Literally nothing good to say about the food. They use a big rice cooker up front that overcooks the rice. They assemble the soup at the last second so that the noodles have just barely cooked. The meat in the meal is dried out and old and they just add sauce, veggies, and heat then serve. Crab rangoon was cooked hours ago and put in a foil bag. These folks dont care about FRESH. Good Chinese food shouldnt take 10 minutes. Paid $25 and threw most of the food away.

To all yall haters out there, the reason you most likely disliked the food WAS BECAUSE YOU ORDER "AMERICAN CHINESE FOOD" FROM A AUTHENTIC CHINESE RESTAURANT! if you expect to have "delicious" Americanized Chinese food do yourself a favor and TRY OUT ONE OF THEIR Authentic Dishes! its soooooo delicious! yall are missing out! so dont complain about the crappy food you ordered because you just dont know what to order! try out some of their hunan beef! good stuff :)

I did not like the food at all! I ordered sweet and sour chicken, it was very overcooked and I suspect that it was old food that they just reheated. I worked at a Chinese restaurant when I was younger, so I am well versed with this type of food. China city does not serve quality food. If you dont mind the drive, I recommend Yummy House on Hillsborough ave. I will never eat China City again....very disappointed.

If you like to pay 6.50 for a drink and a ton of onion and rice great! If not then I do not recommend this place. There is another place a few miles South called China 1 the quality is much better and you get some meat and not all onion and rice. I heard a customer while in line telling him the staff to take his food out of the microwave. Nothing is fresh or cooked to order.

I ordered two separate dishes while I was there. The fried rice was plain and extremely salty. My pasta was tasteless. The ONLY good thing I had there were the eggrolls. I would not recommend this place nor will I ever go back there. I ate one or two bites of the food and threw it away: it was that bad.

The only thing that tasted good was the fortune cookie. The fried rice was soggy, so was the the fried chicken, egg rolls are ok. The food reminds of a cheap Chinese buffet that had food sitting in the trays all day. This is the first Google review Ive left because I feel so compelled to warn people.

I love eating here. The service and staff are wonderful, very friendly towards us. My girlfriend is from Beijing and attests to his being very authentic Chinese cuisine. Ive lived in this area my whole life and its easily the best Chinese food. The food is made fast and reasonably priced.

The reviews were semi accurate, this was the worst Chinese food ive had. The rice was soggy and spongey, crab rangoon had a weird texture, and the spring roll was not what i was expecting. The orange chicken was probably the best but still very salty and not a traditional orange sauce

As I was standing at the counter waiting to pay I saw the cook pick several peices of broccoli out of the wok with his bare hands and eat them. Mind you, I had ordered beef and broccoli and I was the only person in the restaurant. Very disappointing. I will never order here again.

The worst Chinese food I have ever had. If you like very oily, bland, food this place is for you. Nothing was fresh. Vegetables frozen and soggy. Horrible. We spent $38 dollars and through all of it in the trash. I would never order from the place again.

I eat here with my girlfriend pretty often, and the food seems about as authentic as you can find in Tampa. My favorite dishes are the garlic chicken and "hot pot". Definitely recommend giving this place a shot if youre looking for some good Chinese food.

Old stale meat. The fried rice was not fried rice at all. It looked and tasted like it was scraped off the bottom of the pan and had brown sauce added, not normal fried rice. We didnt even save the leftovers.

I think ChinaCity is the best restaurant nearby the USF. The price and meals are great and reasonable for our Chinese students. I dont have pictures. But I order it like twice a week.

I was excited to see a chinese food place that delivers...but the food was poor. Everything looked and tasted like yesterdays leftovers. Will not be ordering again.

This place is fire. Been coming here for years. The food is excellent. Cheap lunches big meals. Probably one of the cleanest and best Chinese in Tampa.

Had the orange chicken and it had little to no meat in it and was pretty much just all bread. Rice also had a weird taste to it. Def not worth $11.
