A great coffee stop with lots and lots of options, even macadamia and hemp milk, for fellow lactose intolerant people! The service is nice and friendly, engaging in conversation and not shy to treat you like a valued customer, which I approve of greatly. Unfortunately I can only award 4 of 5 stars due to a lack of knowledge about ingredients and drink crafting. It is a necessity for those in the food and beverage industries to know at all times what theyre serving, as it protects both the customer and the business. Knowing what ingredients are in house made Chai is critical information for those with strict diet due to allergies, diseases and intolerances!! Please educate your barristas!

This is by far my favorite coffee shop in South Carolina. The straight up coffee and espresso are roasted in house and delicious. The coffee drinks are inventive, unique, and not too sweet. Their baked goods are phenomenal; the baker really understands the textbook taste and texture of each pastry, and what she creates are fun twists on these standards. Besides that they do have hot food--sandwiches and so on--which is good and a very relaxed and comfortable environment. The place is really low-key and enjoyable. Seriously, go there now.

Tucked in the back through an alleyway, this place wasnt the easiest to find - but dont let that discourage you! The staff were awesome - personable and very knowledgeable about the brewing process. Like many smaller coffee shops, they make their own roast in house, but their espresso roast is one of the best Ive ever had: its bold, earthy, slightly nutty, and not at all sour like the roasts that many places seem to make these days. Im only in town for a few days, but plan to come here for the rest of my stay.

Im in love with their coffee and could easily spend my entire paycheck on just that. My kid got hot tea and was overwhelmed with the experience, but they are kind of newbie in branching in things that have more than simple flavors and their selection is VAST. It could easily take an hour just to process all the things they have to offer. I got salad, which was pretty good, nice green selection but the flavor was nothing I could remember to well. But the coffee... oh my, the coffee...

The coffee is good, but I ordered 2 original French toasts, which on the menu says it comes with home fries and fruit (all for about 9 bucks). Well I get the French toast, but I see nothing else, so I go back in and ask "arent I supposed to get homesfries/fruit with this". The guy literally just says "nope, sorry". No explanation or anything, even though I literally read what the menu said. Not to mention my French toast was oily/wet. Never again. I went right to Cafe Strudel.

A Boohags blessing to find this gem in Columbia! House made and local greens, eggs, meats and breads. Gluten free options for everything on the extensive breakfast & lunchanged menu! Inventive lattes, good black coffees, and great selection of teas. Witty, chipper staff every time Ive been here, and a great locale in old brick building off the main stretch of Gervais St. I now come here every time im in Columbia!

My new favorite coffee shop in Columbia. Tons of sweets to choose from and homemade syrups. The inside is spacious and has an upstairs and downstairs which is kind of unique. It also has a large, shared, outdoor seating area as well. Its kind of hard to find if youre looking for it from the main street - just walk down the alley and its on the right (or left, depending on which way your coming).

Mmm, I love the stroll down the alley to get to this cozy spot! I would hands down say its my favorite coffee spot, especially for the Horchata Macchiato & Californian Carolinian (breakfast). Just make sure you explicitly let your barista know whether youd prefer your drink hot or iced - they assume based on the season. Oh & late hours too... Love it!!

Best coffee, breakfast, lunch and atmosphere in Columbia. Baristas and Chefs are always helpful and friendly. The owner is a younger guy who runs both the Chapin + Vista stores. I really recommend the Bagel Breakfast Delight! Its refreshing to see food that is creative and a place that is thoughtfully set up.

This is such a great place. The coffee (and lattes, etc.) is fantastic, the pastries are delicious, the staff is friendly and helpful. They source everything (down to the milk) locally, bake everything in-house, and the wonderful smell will draw you in if you get anywhere close. So glad I found them!

Great coffee, friendly staff, havent tried the baked goods but they look awesome, not to mention theyre going to add a wine/beer bar in the basement. What part of that sentence would prevent you from going here immediately?

Not a lot of Places To sit unless you want to go in the basement. Pretty standard coffee shop fare, but the location and building are pretty nice. Quiet spot, good for doing work but Im not sure how many outlets there are

Very quaint, hip little cafe. Their biscuits and bread are homemade. The iced coffee is phenomenal. Great customer service, but can be slow when its one barista making the drinks as well as ringing people up.

Great coffee and eats spot in a reclaimed space of an old cotton mill . Relaxed and local healthy eats. We had Californian Carolina, Berry SC french toasts and Vanilla Lavender latte .All was excellent.

Very pleasant but more seating downstairs would be great. The food was delicious. I recommend the everything bagel. For a lite bite toast and fruit was simple but yummy! Overall great experience

Specialty drinks are their specialty. They do today their own beans too. I havent been overly impressed by their black coffee though. My last cup tasted like burnt water, or something like that.
