Gyro Platter "A Grecian delight of gyro meat with Athens exquisite tzatziki sauce, onions,Roma tomatoes and lettuce on open-faced grilled pita bread. Served with Greek potatoes and a pickle".......This is what I ordered at lunch today. I received a salad before the Gyro Platte, which had a large amount of lettuce, one narrow slice of a Roma tomato, and one Greek olive. My platter arrived with 8 large chunks of Greek Potatoes, another handful of lettuce, 2 thin slices of Roma tomato, 2 Greek olives, one large pita bread, with about 2 ounces of gyro meat, smothered with tzatziki sauce. The pita bread dwarfed the meat. A loaf of bread, accompanied with oil was put on the table too. The restaurant was empty, except for my companion and I. Lunch cost me about $11-$12. I asked to speak to the manager. I received polite service from everyone there, but did not receive any satisfaction when I pointed out that most of my meal was potatoes, bread, meager amounts of tomatoes, olives, and a SCANT amount of meat. The managers response was the portion is weighed. My response was this was the first time I ate at Athens, and it is definitely the last. My main complaint was the portion size of the meat. This wouldnt even count as a childs size portion. My plate was chockful of the inexpensive ingredients...potatoes, bread,..but not the ingredient that heads-up the name of this dish..GYRO! Get your magnifying glass out...Youll need it! "A Grecian Delight"???? I was not delighted.

I had a horrible experience at the Pizza Express location and will never return. I have also told all my family and friends to beware of this location. Joseph R. was at the cashier counter. I asked for a gyro. I asked if that came with fries and he said no. I said I would like to add fries. He said that I would want a gyro platter then, not a gyro. I said OK, but I wanted a gyro rolled and not just a flat on the platter. He made a huge deal about it and acted disgusted. I told him whatever he called it, I just wanted a gyro and fries. He was extremely rude. When my order was finally up, he brought it to me and very loudly for the entire restaurant to hear pointed out that in the future I needed to order properly and that I should order a gyro platter and request for it to be rolled so that I dont create confusion. I am sorry, but if it is that complicated to order a gyro and fries in a greek restaurant, there is a problem. I certainly did not appreciate the obnoxious approach that Joseph made and will certainly never return. By the way, the gyro was mediocre at best after all that. Customer service is totally lacking at this location. During the lunch hour, bery few people were dining there. I can see why. I will be surprised if they stay in business much longer at that rate.

Host greeted the couple before us very pleasantly. It was obvious they were regulars. He grunted at us, picked up 2 menus and walked away. No, "Welcome to Athens restaurant please follow me,." No smile. Food was good and arrived promptly. Our plates were not taken away and our check was brought to us without being asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. A very strange restaurant. Its obvious they prefer their regulars. This was our first & last time to eat there. Too many really good restaurants in our area to waste time on the bad ones.

To be fair to the circumstances, we went to the restaurant after Hurricane Mathew visited the area. The food was boring and bland and did not feel authentic. The service from the wait staff was sub-part. We had to wait 20 min for our water with lemon. And then 20 additional minutes for the lemons. The feta cheese was yucky. We were told it was cows milk feta by the owner. We are accustomed to goat or sheep feta and cow is not very good. Honestly, the food seemed more like a low end Italian restaurant. We will not be going back.

Foul food, made by dirty people, ran by dirty owners. The owners stick their filthy fingers in everything. I was told NOT to make new shrimp Alfredo sauce because "it tasted fine" according to the owner. That sauce has real pieces of shrimp in it, and had been sitting in the cooler, barely covered for over 3 weeks. I went to throw it away and make new sauce, when the owner told me not to. This is when I quit. Also- that is NOT lamb as advertised on the gyros. It clearly says "lamb-flavored beef product" on the box.

We have gotten food delivered before and it was very good. Went in on a Sunday and stood at the front for 10 minutes before we were greeted. We finally got seated and it was extremely hot in the restaurant. Our server was quick, we ordered a couple of sodas and the tzatziki app. When it got to the table it was time to run. Tzatziki was some kind of running looking sauce and the meatballs were just bland and lots of gristle. Would not come back. Went to mcdonalds instead.

Wow!! What a great overall experience! The food was the best Greek food in the area, the Greek wine was wonderful, the atmosphere and the service were fantastic. We drove an hour just to get Greek food and we were not disappointed. We will definitely be back with the kids. Soon! Not only was our experience phenomenal, but the owner, George, was extremely pleasant, easy to talk to and made us feel like our business really mattered to him.

Really good experience! Everyone were really nice and friendly! I loved the inside! Extremely clean, and nice decor! We had a family of four, two adults and two small children. We ordered a 16 pizza and it was delicious!! Perfect size, just enough! Price was fair under $25. Cant complain about anything! It was super quiet like a library, which was hard with little ones, but really peaceful! (Which is nice when having dinner with family!) :)

Love this place! The food is awesome and the price is just right for what we get. I normally split a plate since the portions are so big so we end up spending about $30 when we come here. The bread they serve before the food is always hot and delicious, you can get butter or use the oil on the table. The salads and soup are always good and the waitress we always seem to get is a fun attentive woman.

I used to think the owners were friends as my family has been going there for years. When Bill asked for my help to sell the building I obliged. Now that the brothers have their millions they act like they dont know who I am. Its sad - the days of a busy Athens seam over. Its never crowded ---no one goes there anymore. All the customers are dying out. Go back to Greece where you belong.

I got one entree for take out and I was impressed with the generous portions and wonderful taste of the food. Not only did I have a great lunch but it will be my lunch tomorrow as well so what a value. Very fresh Greek food which is exactly what I was looking for. No greasy food that makes you need to sleep for a week!
