Mediocre at best. Used to come up with interesting/creative burgers/sandwiches, now tends to just offer basic burgers/sandwiches that arent as creative. Had only gone back a couple times after they moved from portsmouth, just went back the other day and it was meh...Wife got chourico mac and cheese, it was ok, but flavor was a bit weird. Seemed like it was lacking chourico and peppers or the chourico didnt go with their base cheese they used in the mac and cheese or something. It didnt actually appear to have much if any chourico and there were no peppers, but the color suggested there was, so maybe they puree it all in the cheese base, I dunno. I thought it was ok, but the wife didnt like it. I got a Cheese Steak Bomb sandwich, which sounded good, but was incredibly one note/bland. The cheese sauce they make tends to overpower stuff, but not in a good way. It seems to be something like a cheese roux with too much flour, so its a bit grainy, and the flavor is simple. Its like if you just add a lot of sharp cheddar to a flour-y roux, thats what you get. The garlic fries in the sandwich were not particularly garlic-y, and the boursin cheese was minimal, and the steak didnt taste seasoned. The sandwich wasnt inedible, but it was incredibly bland and one note. I got some cheese sauce on the side for the fries, which went ok together, but the sauce needs things to either add complexity to it or flavors to offset its single note. Probably wont be back again at this point. It seems like theyre focused on heavy/greasy food flavors and dont understand how to balance/combine flavors. Not that you have to do that with a burger, but as an alternative to something like five guys, Id probably pick five guys now over boss man. Their previous special burgers/sandwiches were amazing, they had one that was a beer brined chicken (they called it "The Manchester"), topped with boursin cheese, onion rings and bbq sauce (and maybe some other cheese and a tomato?), the beer brined chicken was incredible, and the sweet/savory/salty mix of boursin and bbq sauce were fantastic. They now have a basic bbq chicken sandwich. I didnt try it as it doesnt mention the beer brined chicken, and it now has lettuce, tomato, and ranch, which sounds pretty mediocre. In the past they also did some interesting burger combos, but I dont remember the details of those that well. I want to taste things I cant make at home easily when I go out, and unfortunately most of their menu now appears to be much less interesting. I wouldnt say dont go there, as the food isnt horrible, just dont go there expecting anything other than basic burgers/sandwiches. To me theyve lost the magic they used to have.

I just finished a quick bite with the wife and son for dinner at Boss Man Burgers; its about 9:30 pm June 26, 2015. I got the All American Cheeseburger, an order of chili-cheese fries and 2 Yuengling Black & Tans. Absolutely fantastic. For folks from Los Angeles to truly appreciate the flavor, take a leaner Fat burger and add a fried egg, some perfectly made bacon, lettuce, tomato slice, and cheese, then add some french fries under it all (on the bun) and you got the All American. Some how they have less grease on their burgers and fries or perhaps the oil or grease they use is really fresh. For the Chili-cheese fries, take some skin on fries, add on Tommys chili with about half the grease, add some cheese sauce and some green onion slices. As for the beer, I havent found a West Coast equivalent of a Yuengling. For the Yuengling Black & Tan, the closest thing, from my perspective, is a Newcastle brown. Just with a bit more zing. Guys, they have a great selection of beers, and from what I can see, wines as well. If you find yourself anywhere near the Middletwon/Newport area of Rhode Island, and you like burgers and appreciate good beer, do yourself a favor and stop in for a bite to eat and a beer to wash it down.

We come to boss man about once a month and have yet to have an experience where our order was timely and correct. That being said they always make it right. The big problem is that They dont take allergies seriously. I would imagine that anyone in the food service industry would hear allergy and immediately think "lawsuit". Instead we received a burger which included our specified allergen. This seems to be a specific problem with young teens taking orders who assume rather than verify that there are no issues. Basically you need to ask about each individual part of your order and ask them to check the boxes for allergy issues, dont trust them to do it on their own. Food is still worth going back and dealing with the service. (EDIT:) I contacted them via message on their Facebook page and received the following response. "I put an allergy button in the computer system today it appears in red and breaks it down by allergy....all employees know that soon as you hear allergy push button and verbally to the kitchen...thank you for bringing this to my attention" Im very happy to see that they are taking this issue seriously. I have updated my rating accordingly.

Quite simply, the best burgers in Rhode Island; made perfect every time. Try one on a portuguese bolo! More than just the burgers though; sandwiches, seafood, and Portuguese specialties, all of it fantastic every time. Service is always fast and friendly. A little bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Tip - A small fry will easily feed two; a large will satisfy a small army.

I went here for the first time a few weeks ago after moving all day. We ended up getting take out but the burgers were still delicious even after driving them home. I cannot speak to the staff but the bartender and the girl who rang me out were both very nice and helpful. I would go back here again if I was looking for a delicious burger and a few local beers on tap

Love this place. Service is always attentive and the food is absolutely amazing. Would be five stars accept all the seats in the place hurt my back and are old busted booths I think they got for free and just reupholstered them. Eating in can be a painful experience... literally.

I ordered their Portuguese Burger which consisted of chourico, cheese, fried egg and grilled onion on a garlic bread roll. The bread was soft on the outside, crunchy on the inside and the fresh hamburger patty just melted in my mouth. What a great hamburger place! Go now!!

Poor service, unseasoned food. Cheesesteak sandwich had hardly any meat. Husband ordered jalapenos on his burger and instead of pickled jalapenos like hes received at every other restaurant, he received 1/2 inch thick slices of fresh jalapeno. Weird.

Way overpriced, use to go there all the time with my friends but prices were bumped up multiple times and we all agreed to stop going. Good food but ridiculously overpriced Im not going to pay $11-12 for a little wrap without even a side
