Last week we visited Rasoi restaurant for dinner. We live in MA and traveled over 20 miles each way to have a nice experience. Unfortunately, our overall experience was very poor. We did not feel good coming out of Rasoi. Our server forgot to bring a few things even though we politely reminded him twice. Also in the To-Go package, similar experience happened, we had requested Indian chutneys to be added with our to-go package and at home when we opened it, and these were not there. When we asked for suggestion on the dessert, the server suggested Ras Malia and we ordered it but then he came back and told us it is very warm and not cold as it should be. Most of the servers seem to be college students and not professionals working at Rasoi restaurant. Finally when the check came, the tip was added by default which was surprising as we were just 2 people. But the tip was added with 33% of our final check and there was another category on the check to add additional tip. We were just 2 people for dinner on the table. It was confusing and we felt like this was a trick used to cheat customers. I mean adding 33% tip to the final check by default and then leaving the category to add Tip, it seems like pure greed. After this experience, it is unlikely we will visit this restaurant again. But I thought I will pass on my experience to fellow readers to be very careful in going to Rasoi restaurant in RI State. It is definitely not worth the trip from MA State, there are far better restaurants available in MA and they are very reasonably priced and donot cheat their customers.

Video Review : https://youtu.be/Ycthy0TX0Es This is first ever restaurant I went to, when I arrived in RI. In RI, this is one of the places which offer indian food that can be considered close to authentic. The ambience is very warm, with various pcitures of women from indian villages in their daily walks of life. This kind of reminds us of what rural india looks like. It is no surprise that there is variety in Indian food. The way it is presented and the taste is pretty good too. Service in general is good, but sometimes it can be a bit snappy. The Manager though was very courteous. Try out the Cauliflower 65 for appetitzer. It is amazing. I do enjoy the lunch combinations which comes at a reasonable price.

Rasois menu is incredibly helpful to people with any dietary restrictions. Theyve labeled items that are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free. Weve stopped in for lunch, dinner and occasionally the Saturday buffet which is also gluten free and vegan. This is a restaurant where I can bring my friends or family who want to enjoy meat based meals while still finding items I can eat on the menu. My friends rave about the lamb curry. For the veg*n folk, I recommend the Gobhi Manchurian (which my friends also loved), Chana Masala, or Vegetable Mango Curry. The Saturday buffet has many choices and I always look forward to the standbys likes the lentil donuts or the idlis.

My wife has Crohns disease and must eat totally gluten free, as well as free from a few other allergens. We thoroughly enjoy the Saturday buffet as it is a nice change of pace, and completely safe for GF eaters. I myself was skeptical of a vegan buffet, but with the wonderful flavors and cooking techniques, you quickly forget the lack of meat. We went to a regular dinner there as well. Wonderful attentive service, and once again, extremely mindful of our allergen concerns. We still talk about the (onion?) chutney brought complimentary to the table. We will be loyal customers into the future

This is primarily a North Indian restaurant. The food is ok. It may satisfy your craving for certain items. The masala dosa is acceptable, even though the sambhar and chutney disappoint. The paneer tikka appetizer was the highlight. You should absolutely stay away from the chana masala which was terrible. It went neither North nor South in style. The chef did put in extra effort to deliver bhatura instead of poori upon request. This resturant is related to Kabob and Curry which is also average IMO.

I used to go to Rasoi very often, for I like Indian food. Now that I think about it, Rasois food is just all right . Service is fine, but beware if you want to stay a little longer after dinner chatting with your friends for you will be thrown out. It happened to me, it was rude and inconsiderate and made us all feel very uncomfortable. We ate, we paid and then...they needed the table and out in the cold we had to go. Rasoi just made six unhappy ex-customers.

Very few things to like about this restaurant. Ambience and service is probably the only good things. Tried buffet earlier today and must say, was disappointed. There werent enough starters. Tandoori chicken was good. Main course was average. Dhal was bland. Chicken curry was sweet. Cant recollect having had sweet chicken during my 25 years in India. Dessert was the nail on the coffin- wheat porridge. Was disappointed. Wouldnt suggest the restaurant.

I love going to Rasoi for that special occasion or to have a nice, relaxing dinner with my husband. I have tried a lot of Indian restaurants (as an Indian, Im pretty picky when it comes to curry and Indian food), and love Rasoi. The service is fast, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the portions are great. Rasoi also has a lot of great promotions and coupons, like free entrées, when you join their FREE e-club. A great place to go for great Indian food!

Not a good experience. Guys, found a long hair in my nephews food and he left the food. Please be careful with what ever you order. The manager or the person incharge argued and said they do not have the female working in the kitchen. The amazing thing was our waitress was a lady. I will definitely think twice going there again. And, the waitress kept on asking to order the main course as if they wanted us to go out from there.

I had the Thali which is a selection of 5 savory dishes, naan, rice, and a desert. I liked everything I had was very impressed with the lamb. Great way to try different things and not break the bank. My one complaint was that $6 for a 12 once Dogfish 60 was a little much; I expected a pint. The mason jar is cute but I wont be ordering beer here next time I go.

The food at Rasoi is sophisticated, elegant, freshly prepared and marvelously appealing. Compared to most Indian restaurants anywhere, it is a head and shoulders above the pack. Not your usual Indian cafe, and yet it is not expensive. The atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable and the service attentive. Could not recommend any restaurant in the state more.

One of the best Indian restaurants that Ive ever been to. They have an amazing and super delicious Chicken Biriani. The lamb kebab and spicy cauliflower are delicious as an appetizer. The portion of the food is large and you can even eat it as two meals; however, you cannot stop eating because the food is awesome!

Food is good, but service is HORRIBLE. The people serving the food are never friendly. I have been here three times and had the same experience. Never polite or friendly. Specially this one guy who looks like he is on the edge and about to punch you !! I would suggest going to India Restaurant near-by.
