The food was fantastic but thr service was far from it. Been coming here for years. We rarely had good service but it was tolerable. We have taken a break from the restsurant for months after discovering Indian restaurants that offer equally great food. We were in the area recently so we decided to have lunch. Our waiter looked like he found the tadk of serving us distasteful. He came to take our order and I explained that we were ordering drinks and appetizers first and need some time to decide on the main dish. I ordered naan and thw waiter told that it comes with the meal. I explained that I wanted a separate order to go with rhe paneer. He then waited again so I asked that we get the drinks and apps first. Our drinks and paneer arrives and we wait for the naan. About 10 mins later, we ask the waiter only to be told that he told me that it comes with the meal. So much for the customers request. I apologized since he looked irritated and explained again that I want a separate order to eat with thw paneer. My companions food, and finally our naan, arrives. I got ready to use my appetizer plate when it gets taken away. I try to stop him and explained that I will need to use it. I was told they will get me a new one. Instead of an appetizer plate, my order arrives. The garlic naan was great, the tandoori chicken was flavorful and fell ofd the bone. The salmon in the salmon tikka masala tasted like salmon that was previously frozen - no flavor at all. Although the sauce was good, it could not cover up the tasteless meat with bad texture. It was also a very small serving. Towards the end of the meal, the waiter comes back and we finally see him smile and make an attempt to be friendly. Overall, I never really expected great service to sta rt with and most of the food was good.

I was so impressed with the quality of food and service from the staff of Kabob and Curry. We stopped here for dinner on the weekend after Thanksgiving and found this place packed. I feel that says a lot about the food considering that most people keep away from eating out during a holiday weekend. We split two meals, the chicken tikki masala and the dal makhni which is a lentil bean based dish. Both were really flavorful and came in large portions with a side of rice. We also split 3 orders of the naan in rosemary, garlic, and parantha. The breads came at a price of 3/$8 or 2/$5 and I would share only 2 between a couple next time since the servings are so large. Everything else on the menu looks so good, it was hard to settle on our final decisions, but no regrets. Our server, Manny, was really friendly and helpful with the menu. The manger even came by more than once to check on us to see how our food was. There is a second level that was full as well, so I know they are a local go-to for dinner. Perfect spot for a meal on Thayer Street.

While the owner and servers are very friendly and accommodating, they cannot save the establishment from its mediocre food. I understand that this resturant is the sole option for Indian cuisine on the Brown University campus which probably allows them to be complacent. The highlight of our dishes ordered was the bhindi masala which was not too wet and still packed a crunchy bite. The Gobi 65 was too sweet - overloaded with the red sauce and lacking the Indian Chinese element. The samosa was bland with the potatoes instead being way too mashed instead of chunky. The dal tadka had a majority proportion or Chanda chana dal instead of toor. I may be wrong on this however. While the gravy for the malai kofta was acceptable, I could taste the dry cornflour within the kofta itself which rendered the dish a disaster. The mango lassi had higher amount of lassi and felt lacking in the mango department. All the naans we tried we also average, nothing exceptional to write about unlike the naans at Rasa.

Food was good but waiter was terrible. He was constantly sucking up to the white guests (thanking them over and over), but ignored us (were Asian). When I ordered the lamb kabob he asked me if I wanted the lunch or dinner portion. When I told him lunch, he made a disapproving sound and face, even though it was lunch time. He never checked up on us even once and didnt bring our naan. When we told him about it, there was no apology. He made us wait fifteen minutes for the bill even though the restaurant was now empty except another two Asian guests. They too were ignored and had not even been given a menu. Very poor service if youre Asian. Will never eat here again.

Ive been to some many different places for Indian food and I must say kabob and curry was the worst place Ive been for Indian food. And our server was so lost and forgetful and over charged us and brought us something we didnt even order, I had to ask another server to accommodate our table. The roasted chicken we ordered for the kids was burnt and portion were small for and adult. Its a hole in the wall place and badly needs an update and some more Indian decor. This is my first time posting a review and I love food and I feel bad that I even had to write a review but it was that bad. I live in Boston and they have way better indian food. Sorry Providence :(

Deplorable Customer Service. Ive been coming here for over ten years and the customer service was never great, however the food made it worth it. The last two times the service was terrible. Today, our waiter spent nearly 20 minutes fixing his hair in the bar mirror and chatting with friends. He was slow, unkind, and unprofessional, considering there were only three or so small parties in the entire restaurant. Theyve drastically increased their prices by several dollars per dish over the last several months. For the portion size, it is no longer worth the money. The food is good though, cannot argue with that.

Yesterday we visted KABOB AND CURRY for the dinner. We travelled over 15 miles each way to have a good experience.Unfortunately our overall experience was poor. The place was little messy specially enterance. We ordered for dhabey ki daal, matar paneer and roti. The food was good but our server was not so good.Even he didnt ask about the extra water if we need. They served papad and chatny to other customer but i think they forget to serve us and when we asked to our server then he said we served it with alcohol. what a policy?????great. After this experience it is unlikely we will visit this restaurant again.

What a local, hidden jem. It is tucked away on the street block, but has plenty of seating both up and downstairs. You could host a gathering here. They serve an appetizer of the chip-like naan and sauces/red peppers. I ordered rosemary naan and spinach curry. Both were delicious! The waiter was helpful when I had questions and service was quick. Would make a great lunch date. Still dreaming about the rosemary naan. They have cocktails and dessert if you are looking for something light, too. Atmosphere is again welcoming and authentic.

We went to Rhode island from Albany for two days. horribe food, if you are from india, you will never want to go there, because they dont know to prepare any indian dish. we were hungy and had no option other than to eat, but had to eat that junk and also led to loose motions. ex: briyani was like sambar rice., try avoiding this restaurant,.next day we tried bombay club which is few miles away, its cost effective and also very tasty.
