I am a 29 year old Canadian living in the United States to write my PhD. I went to this bar with my parents (aged 70 and 68) and was denied service because I did not have my passport, despite showing two forms of government issued ID. I appreciated cutting down on underage drinking, but this is sheer stupidity.

Newports biggest Irish Pub. The Fastnet is a pretty big place, especially when the massive back patio is open. Tons of pub games with pool and darts inside and ping-pong out back. It tends to be pretty busy on Mondays for Blues Night and of course theres live Irish music on Sunday afternoons.

Stopped by randomly on a Sunday night, which has an Irish session (music) every week. It reminded me of Doolin, Ireland. The curry sauce is delicious. Service may have been slow but it was packed and there was no rush out the door. A definite place to go for a taste of Ireland in Newport.

Seems legit. Onion rings are typical pub fare, they hit the spot. Plenty on tap, 8oz burger at a good price. Two pokestops available. Seriously, Im talking about the things that matter. Its loud, on a Sunday night theres love music. Can still talk with friends. I like it, Ill be back.

We love the casual family atmosphere in the afternoons, the food and of course the great beverage selection. Parking can be tough during peak times but can usually be found within reasonable walking distance.

I liked this bar, had some nice Irish memorabilia on the walls which reminded me of home, i liked the Clam chowder, curry fries & chicken cugans! Pints were ok, Nice atmosphere in there too.
