Went this past weekend for the "early bird." My boyfriend chose from that menu, I from the regular one. When the waitress asked for our order I asked if I was also entitled to soup and salad as mentioned with the early bird. She said that I was. A few minutes later she returned to tell me that I could only have the soup to which I said "fine." When she brought the food, there was a salad for me. My entree arrived which was the salmon from the early bird and not the one on the regular menu. I pointed this out and she took my plate and returned later with my proper order. She apologized admitting that she made the mistake. When out bill came we were charged for my entree plus $7.95 more which was the cost of the soup and salad. My experience as someone who comes from NYC and has eaten out all over the world is that when the restaurant makes the error, they "eat" the cost of their mistake. I did not speak up because I did not want to make a big deal at the time. For this, I blame myself. Good will is worth much more than $7.95. The food was a good value but not great and so we will not be back. We live in Newport part time and will be there all the time after this coming summer. We eat out every week and will not return and will not recommend this restaurant.

Very good value for the money. Has recently opened for dinner (BYOB), and dinner items include very good, reasonably priced seafood selections. Waitress was not overly knowledgeable about menu but was happy to get answers to questions. Decor of photographs of old Newport and old Newporters was attractive, and we appreciated the quiet atmosphere. This is more of a breakfast place than an elegant dinner place, but we were fine with that. They do not take credit cards but there is an ATM at the back of the restaurant and a BoA ATM across the street. I had stuffed lobster as a main course and a crabcake as an appetizer; both were quite good, with plenty of shrimp and scallops in the lobster stuffing. My husband and daugher had fried clams and fried fish, both just fine. In short, a good-value place in old 19th c. Newport for a quiet, reasonably priced seafood dinner.

Did not read reviews before we went, which is probably the case with most everyone. We went in for lunch there were chips and other small pieces of garbage under tables, I wanted to leave but teenage boys were hungry. BIG MISTAKE. Waited forever for burgers that came with no cheese, then the waitress picked them up to bring them back and spilled orange juice all over my son. She started wiping it up and burst out laughing. Then she is arguing with my husband about paying for drinks we did have. No apology about the $50 pair of shorts she ruined and the trip back to our hotel so he could change. But I believe that might of saved us all from a bout of food poisoning. Truly I hope you read this before you go!!!

The food was good. BE FOREWARNED: This is a CASH ONLY business! Of course, there is an ATM machine on the premises (with a fee). We had a Dinner Club book,which the server saw upon arrival. When the check was delivered, she reported it was not able to be honored because of the day.

Some of our other favorite spots have become unreasonably busy. We tried this place based on a review of corned beef hash. It was good, but the only photo I took was of the cinnamon roll I didnt order. Cash only. Dont skip the fresh squeezed oj. They dont butter the toast for you.

Love going here for breakfast dates ♡ The atmosphere is very cozy and the food of course is delicious. We park in the lot across the street and walked over and it was no biggie. During the holiday season they had the ceiling covered in ornaments. It was truly a sight to see :)
