I feel fortunate to live a stones throw from this homey establishment. The food here is classic diner faire - large portions, low prices, great flavor, and my health be damned. North Ave Diner is truly a gem, providing the best of everything youd expect. Not to mention the menu is enormous. Generally, the waitresses are attentive, quick, and pleasant. I say "generally" because of a number of experiences I have had with one particular waitress. And I would like to emphasize this is the only blemish on an otherwise exceptional eatery. In brief, this young, dark-haired (italian?) waitress has, recently, on a handful of occasions been blatantly... "out of it". By "out of it" I am referring to her incredibly bizarre behavior, which includes her saying part of an apparent phrase, or otherwise entire sentences that are utterly nonsensical; often she apparently has no recollection of having said anything or no idea that what she did say made no sense whatsoever. I have also seen her appear to fall asleep for brief stints while on her feet and doing something such as submitting an order to the kitchen. She is also clearly and inexplicably (given the nature of the job/restuarant layout etc.) disorganized to the point where her (quasi) chaotic/frantic service creates a general uneasiness (other patrons have more than once turned and asked if it was just them or if I also noticed all of these pecularities). In summary, diner is exceptional, what is going on with this one waitress is a mystery.

North Ave. Diner knows how to do breakfast. Often times, you walk into a breakfast spot and its crowded, the wait is long, and it takes forever to get your food. Not here. At North Ave. Diner, the waiters are great. Theyre considerate, friendly, and know how to be fast without sacrificing good service. The food is fresh, hot, and delicious. Its not fancy and it will definitely make you aware that youre in a small town joint, but thats part of the aura . . . and youll love it. My family has tried out their fair share of breakfast spots and this is where weve settled. Dont miss the fried potato side and all the amazing choices.

Nice diner with friendly staff and local feel. The spot is obviously popular on weekend mornings, so just expect to wait 5 or 10 minutes, thats all. There are tables, booths and a breakfast bar. The restaurant has a handicap accessible entrance and seating. I usually get the egg/cheese burrito at breakfast and a friend of mine swears by their steak tips lunch special.

Best breakfast and lunch spot around. I love their eggs Benedict. And didnt know this till recent they serve dinner and BIG portions too. If your ever in Wakefield on north Ave check em out. The service is classic old school diner, very friendly and just all around nice people. I try to get here once or twice a month.

I love supporting local businesses in Wakefield so I hope management reads this message. Its time to make some updates to the restaurant. Ceiling tiles are missing, and most need replacement. Bathrooms need and facelift as well as the dining area. Your food is good. Its time for the service space to match it

Stopped for breakfast on our way up to Maine. The food was good, ordered pancakes, hashbrowns, eggs, etc. Quick service, friendly waitress, would come back again. Cheap prices! Overall, good old fashioned American diner.

This is one of my go-to diners in Wakefield. Classic breakfast foods, and all of it is good. The coffee is maybe not as good as some other diners, but still acceptable.
