We have been going to Old City Buffet for about 6 years now and we thoroughly enjoy it. This is buffet style restaurant not a wait table restaurant and is run by a very nice family. The owner does speak fluent English and is very personable. You are seated at a booth or table (your choice) and go get your plate and help yourself. Someone will bring a beverage to your table and take away your used plates. If you need a drink refill that hasnt come fast enough to suit you, just wave your hand, and like magic, it will be done. We rarely have had to request a refill as usually it is done for us. No need to get into a huff over it though. You one or two star people must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed that day. As to smaller quantities of food at times, we appreciate this also. This is good stewardship of perishables. Everything is fresh, checked often, and promptly replenished as needed. This is better than a big pan of food thats been sitting for an hour or more. We have never gotten sick. Yes, some of the sauces are richer than our "systems" are used to- you just have to know yourselves and make other choices. Do not come in just before closing and expect the food to be at its absolute best. It is still very good but the restaurant is winding down at that point. One cant get a better selection of delicious Chinese food for the price. Coconut shrimp, egg rolls, roast pork, chicken ,beef, soups, salads, some American favorites, whiting fish, salmon, sushi, stir fry, steak, mushrooms, noodles, rice, mussels, crayfish, desserts, Hersheys ice cream, etc. etc. etc. Yummy. Leave that critical spirit at home and come on out, enjoy yourself and some very tasty and satisfying food! Its our favorite place to eat. The Bennetts

I came here to eat about 3 in the afternoon on a Monday. There was one other couple in the restaurant so I was a little worried about the food being fresh. I worried needlessly. Everything was tended to as if there where a hundred people and not just three. Hot and fresh, each dish I tried had good flavor. They have a stir fry station and sushi also not everything was chicken which is good they had variety even late afternoon on a weekday.They seem to do a brisk take out business. While I was there at least eight people came in just to get to go boxes. I hope to be able to come back for their dinner buffet sometime.

If I could Ill give them no stars I would this place is so terrible I wouldnt even give my dog the food they put out..... The worst place to eat do not come here !!!!!! You could probably catch food poisoning from the food here they had their little kids patrolling around the place on tricycles and the man could not speak a lick of English all the drinks taste like sugar water they even had the audacity to put out dollar store cookies animal crackers and Chex CEREAL NOT THE MIX.....cereal in the dessert section like how low could this place get the only thing this place had that was decent was the fish tank

The food was ok, but each item hardly had enough to cover bottom of pan. Because of that food didnt stay very hot. Mt Dew was VERY watered down and when I asked for a refill (empty cup) and said they needed to adjust the syrup waitress picked the cup up and looked at the bottom .. like she was expecting to see something? We used bonus book coupon and when I gave it to the cashier he claimed it wasnt valid for children (coupon says "4 persons") He did eventually give the discount. It wasnt terrible, but we certainly would go out of my way to try it.

Carpet really looks bad im betting its quite old and was probably never proper cleaned. The soda must be intentionally watered down it wasnt flat and tasted sweet but was not at all as strong as it should be. Some of the staff were nice and friendly. Others kept to their work. I decided not to try out the bathroom or dessert after a small roach ran across the edge of 1 of the buffet tables. Very unfortunate.

Food is usually pretty good, we were regular customers. The last few times we have had TERRIBLE customer service! We will not be going back. The lady passed our table several time when we had empty cups and asked the table behind us THREE times if they wanted refills whIle blatantly ignoring us. Even though the food was good, bad customer service will make someone never want to go back!

Nastiest place Ive ever had the dis pleasure to try and eat in. Food was horrible service stinks . Food tasted spoiled. Then the supposed to be manager can speak English at all. EXTREMELY putrid restaurant. No stars honestly! I would vote this best restaurant to be closed down!

The food was terrible. The service was terrible. The fish in the decorative pond were even trying to commit suicide. My son noticed and told an employee and they laughed and walked away. We will not go back and do not recommend going there

This one of the best places in Waynesboro. The service IS the BEST around! More likely than not, the other two comments disparaging the restaurant are by bigots or idiots (or combination if the two due to inbreeding?). Have a GREAT day!

The food is cold and nothing fresh put out and the restaurant doesnt close for an hour. I will NEVER reccomend this place to anyone. I hope the board of health comes in and shuts this place down for food saftey.

Poor selection, extra chewy meat, bad tasting crawdads, shrimp tasted like freezer. Almost all of the food had a weird taste. I love Chinese normally, but I wont be surprised if I get sick from this.
