Market Cafe serves lots of good food, even if the service isnt always so speedy. Youll likely spend $7 to $10 for lunch here, unless you go with something like soup. Pretty much everything they make is tasty. I just need to drop a little warning about the service. It isnt unusual for it to take 10 to 15 minutes to get your food even though they are very ambitious folks. I guess you could say that good food takes time and the problem becomes compounded when they get busy over the lunch hour. Other than that, I do think the workers are generally courteous and friendly (unlike the complaints of a different reviewer). The building and location by the railroad are both quaint and unique but its deafening when a train roars through, especially if you are sitting outside. Seating is a little limited, especially over the winter when it isnt convenient to sit outside. They have about five tables of varying sizes inside and about 8 or 9 tables outside. While it at first appears that parking is limited, there is actually plenty of parking since the gravel area behind the building is Market Cafe parking. The Market Cafe serves good coffee (from Reading Roasters I think). In spite of the slightly slow service, I highly recommend The Market Cafe. Their food is much healthier and much better tasting than the chain fast food restaurants.

The Market Cafe in Topon, PA was an INCREDIBLE experience. I hosted a farm tour to Rodale Institute on Saturday, August 1st and they provided us with a fresher than fresh meal that all of the attendees enjoyed. What made the experience even more enjoyable was the friendliness of the gentleman, Alex, who went out of his way to create a dynamic lunch and accommodated every single need that I had. He even created dishes that arent normally on their menu. Our spread included: kale salad, fresh gazpacho, tomato and cucumber salad, fresh fruit salad, Mediterranean wraps (he also provided some gluten-free bread) and strawberry infused water. Everything was delightful - even the pretty dishes they served the food in. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend The Market Cafe for any meal/event needs. We all felt right at home during our lunch - they were a perfect fit for our farm tour experience. I will certainly use them again for our next venture to Pennsylvania.

The food is great! The problem: CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!! The business I work for often orders from Market Cafe for lunches, business meetings, when clients are visiting, etc...recently weve all been turned off to Market Cafe. Deliveries are consistently late and ordering on the phone has become a nightmare to deal with. There is one particular woman who answers the phone and is always so rude! She yells at customers, tells them they are wrong, and accuses them of not ordering items correctly. Its rediculous. I will not be ordering from them again...hopefully they fire this woman, and if shes an owner, I hope she sells the business to someone with a little class.

The cafes idea was sound but the food quality is inconsistent. The other problem is their hours. They close around 6:00 or 7:00PM and many times I see people coming for a lite dinner or desert only to find them closed. Their weekend hours are also too short...I think if they were a bit more creative with deserts they could do a great business in the evening hours. For example, the ice cream stand (Hermans) in Topton has home made waffles with ice cream every Tuesday evening and they always have a line waiting for the treat! The Cafe could easly compete and make money if they only tried and improved their quality a bit.

The Food is delicious and very fresh. Wonderful variety of soups, sandwiches, quiches, daily specials, muffins, goodies! The owner and staff are pleasant and courteous. The atmosphere inside is eclectically colorful, yet peaceful and is great place for casual dining. I give the Market Cafe 5 stars! And you will love that this Cafe was once a train station and has maintained that look especially on the outside! Lori Deal

Food and drinks are excellent. If you are looking for something outside the box, this is your place. Soups are the best!! Beware you maybe taking your meal to go even though you planned to eat there. Limited seating. Summertime is better due to use of outdoor seating areas. Staff is friendly and they have gotten better with speeding up the service. Just wish they had a line for people who called ahead!!!!

This is a quite lovely lunch spot and I love the repurposing of an old train station into an eatery. They have a good selection of sandwiches made fresh to order and the ones Ive tried have proven to be tasty. I particularly like the outdoor patio they have but the train rolling by every so often is something youll either love or hate.

Our cycling club stops there when were out on rides. Its a great place to get a slushie and cool down. It may be small but it makes you feel at home. There are tables and a couch to sit on inside and a deck with tables outside. Plenty of room to park the bikes too.

The food is always excellent, tasty, and they have a great variety. Their homemade soups are delicious and unique. Wish there were more places like it in our area. The Market Cafe is truly one of a kind.

The food and coffee are very good. I only gave it 3 stars because its closed on Mondays. What food establishment closes on a Monday? Oh yeah...the White Palm Restaurant. Also in Topton. Weird.

The food was great and is a welcomed addition to the typically lack luster restaurants found in our area. Its a shame theyre not open for dinner though.

Its a cute, small place. What came to surprise was that they had live music going on a beautiful Sunday morning. It was just amazing !
