I stopped in tonight, a frozen bitter windy cold night. I wanted 2 tamales to go, a beer at the bar, and to make reservations for Friday. Everything was spot on, but... They seemed a bit understaffed. It could be the bad weather. I forgive. The manager was amazingly friendly and accommodating. Friday night. As soon as my party got there, we were seated immediately with very friendly service. service was quick and attentive. Drinks were served appetizers were quick and meals were not too far behind. Food is good but a bit pricey for home style Mexican food. I will be back their tamales are amazing and the portions are good for the price.

Went here with my boyfriend and another couple. Was very impressed with the decor, cleanliness, and on point service. The decor for the Mexican style food was beautiful. The bathrooms and dining area were clean and smelled great. Drinks were refilled without having to ask. My boyfriend and I had the vegtable burritos and the shrimp tostadas. They were delicious! The prices were great for the large portion sizes! We left full and with leftovers for tomorrow. Highly recommended!

I am not Mexican but I am Latin and I thought the food was aweful. I have gone twice. The first time I went everything about the experience including the service was aweful!! The second time I went the waitress was friendlier , but the food was still awful. The first time I went I got a burrito and part of it was still frozen (tells you how authentic and fresh it is ) and both times the taste was so bland. I wouldnt go again. The salsa is disgusting

About a month ago during the severe thunderstorms, I was in Casa Herrera restaurant. They lost power and we were unable to order dinner. While I sat out the storm, the waitress brought drinks and salsa and chips for our table. When we were leaving, the manager said everything was "on the house". I appreciated his consideration. This is a really great place to eat. Good food and wonderful service.

Love this place. Come here a couple of times a month. Just got back from Cabo and this place has legitimate Mexican food and reminds me of the small cafes off the beaten path that I loved so much in Mexico. Very fun environment. I always get the tacos: asada, carnitas, and chorizo on single corn tortillas with cilantro and onions. Also the guacamole is awesome too.

If you want low cost food go here. Ill rather pay a fair amount for good food and being taking care of well. Just a load workers that don’t know how to simple work Stop over trying… Manager there I had was a female I think she was at bar place I’ll give her a 6.20. No the best place when it comes to food. Price is low too. If you on a low income go there .

Was so excited to get another restaurant in town AND a Mexican one to boot...our favorite! We have gone twice and wont be back. Prices are way too high. Their salsa is horrinle. It seems like they are trying to be a higher end Mexican restaurant with their strange menu (give me a simple taco, burrito, rice & beans combo for under $10). So disappointed!

Great authentic Mexican, good pieces. Really fun decorations. If you want Mexican in the Thornedale/D-town/C-ville, area, why go anywhere else? This location has had a sad cycle of dirty, terrible restaurants opening and closing. This is great, clean, good restaurant, completely unlike any of the others that have been in this space. You should eat here.

Not too thrilled with the place. The chips couldve been purchased at Walmart, same with the salsa. The service was good. The food was okay but considerably more expensive. This place would be good if youre classless and consider On The Border to be actual Mexican food but when compared to more authentic restaurants, theres no comparison.

I did have a positive review on here, but I had to go back and change it. The next time I ate here after I wrote the initial review, I got really really sick; so sick that I lost 10 lbs in two days. Thinking it was a coincidence, my girlfriend went there tonight and ate. Now she is just as sick! We will not be eating here ever again.

Food was good, staff was warm and welcoming and decor is nice. I got the steak Chimichanga and it was really good. I hope to come back at some point to try something else. Its a very quiet restaurant so if you want alone time definitely come here for lunch on a weekday mon-thurs it will be pretty quiet.

My husband and I have been here several times and often order take out. The food is very good, the service has always been attentive and friendly and I find the pricing to be very reasonable for the portion sizes. It can get pricey if you are drinking, but otherwise, I have 0 complaints.

We dont have many "authentic" Mexican places in the area, so this one is great. Its the old Pizza Hut, the decor is awesome and its good to see a place surviving in that spot. Most nights it can get busy, Ive never had to wait and they will take call ahead reservations.

Authentic Mexican food in a Mexican decor. Not your ordinary Mexican restaurant, a wide variety of different Mexican dishes to choose from, some of which Ive not seen on any other menu. Great service great food. Good margaritas and a choice of Mexican beers.

Really delicious! If you ever wondered what good Mexican food tastes like, try it here. Portions are generous. Had lunch with chicken enchiladas. Beans and rice are good, which is a first indication of good Mexican. Green sauce was delicious.

Every time I go in, I get welcomed with lots of love. The employees here are bomb af especially Maria Herrera, always so happy-go-lucky. Wonderful food too, great gringas and stuff. Another wonderful employee es La Julissa, YARK.

The food is _ridiculously_ great and the tables, chairs and decor are as authentic as it gets. Last time we were there, they had a legit mariachi band playing, too. (Also, they have beer and actually, a decent liquor list, too.)

Always great food. Authentic. Casual for families. Whimsical furnishings. Acoustics can be a bit noisy at times (tile floors), especially when roving musicians are there. Still, great food. Were "regulars" for good reason!
