A visit to Han Dynasty is an experience. If you want the normal Chinese food you are used to, then you dont want to come here. This is real, traditional, Chinese food. The owner, Han, is also the greeter and biggest promoter. Talk to him, hell give his opinion of anything and everything. Some of his language isnt for kids or sensitive ears, as an occasional swear word does pop out, ok, on certain subjects, and if hes had a beer or 2, more then occasional, but it adds to the atmosphere. I miss having a place like this to eat at since moving from Pa to South Carolina. Its not cheap, and if you want to try some of the menu items, I suggest going at lunch and order from the lunch menu. You can get a single lunch portion at a more economic price. And its a great way to try out something new and not be stuck with a full sized left-over that you wont eat. Or better yet, go on one of his tasting nights. You get to try 20 items from the traditional menu. You also get to meet and talk to others who enjoy this type of Chinese food.

Authentic, premium Szechuan in Royersford? I know, right? A friend who had spent time in China took me here, and its been a wild peppercorn ride ever since. First things first: dont come here to order American Chinese food; the real deal is so much better. Han, the proprietor, is often there, and loves to share some great food, whether you like spicy or not. After many times visiting, my favorite dishes: dumplings in chili oil, beef with cumin, chicken with hot dry pepper, eggplant in garlic sauce, shredded pork in garlic sauce, deep-fried shredded beef, dan dan noodles, and green beans with minced pork. (The hot pots were a bit much, unfortunately.) Just come here and have a great time; experience something new or a great experience of great Szechuan.

OK food and service, nice setup, an easy Chinese dine-in. A variety of choices on the menu, from appetizer and snacks to specials. The food is authentic, and usually above average, but definitely not a top class. Some dishes are not freshly prepared. Some just arent cooked well. For example, the three cup chicken is overly sweetened and should use more basil and pickled cucumber. There is a sign on the window saying "CNN Best Chinese Restaurant in US". That may be true, although I never confirm it, but must have been years ago. Ever since their chef left in 2013 or 14, the restaurant is nothing compared to its previous glory. But overall, its just a mid-low priced place with ~$15 per entree. Still worth going.

Just tried this for the very first time since my usual place was closed - I can honestly say after having this today, I will not be going back to my old usual place. I tried the General Tso just since it is my benchmark for Chinese and found it to be among the best Id ever had. Not sickeningly sweet like a lot of places. The fried rice was actual fried rice instead of that weird yellow rice some places offer and the egg drop soup was good (although I could have had some noodles to go in it). I cant wait to try some of their other offerings - especially the authentic foods instead of the Americanized versions. Im looking forward to going back tomorrow!

I would have never guessed this place would offer such top quality authentic Chinese food! Whats more; its in Royersford! Such a wonderful place to get real quality Chinese food made with fresh ingredients. I ordered and was treated to off-the-menu recommendations that made my taste buds so happy! Although it offers authentic cuisine, the menu has many items for more Americanized taste buds. Very excited to have a place like this so close to home. A real sense of pride in the cuisine from the staff. Theyll adjust items to your preference or even suggest things you would have never thought youd love (read: pig intestines!). A great place!

Awesome. Period. After reading other reviews, I assume now that the friendly guy that gave me a suggestion off of the Authentic menu was, the owner, Han. I would never have ordered the Double Cooked Pork had he not suggested it, but I was sooo far from disappointed. It was definitely something new, but I found that once I started eating, I didnt take a break, let alone stop to breathe, until the whole plate was gone. Great place, great atmosphere, great people. Slightly pricey on the regular menu but reasonable for the high quality. The lunch specials are very reasonable.

Ignore that jackA that says, "Havent been there in over 2 years" If you havent been there in so long, how can you know if its still relevant? I am a waitress at Han Dynasty and I give nothing but my all to even the most OBNOXIOUS and rude customers.. and I know my fellow waiters do the same. The employees change on an almost monthly basis so one bad experience doesnt mean theyre still bad 2 YEARS later! Come in today and Ill show you a true representative of Han Dynastys delightful waiters who are comfortable with the menu and treat you as youd like to be treated.

On the list of CNNs Top 100 Chinese restaurants in the US, this place lives up to the billing. Note, wait staff is SLOW. this place is under staffed. However, the food, the food is outstanding. Back in the day, this place had an English menu and a Chinese only menu. These were NOT identical. Theyve since changed the menu to have "Americanized" dishes and "traditional" Chinese dishes. The Beef and Tripe appetizer is a good way to start. The Team Smoked Duck is always a winner, as is the Lamb in Dry Pot. You cannot go wrong here.

this restaurant was closed for a few weeks in November. We ordered three cup chicken for take out before it was closed, it was totally awful!! The sauce was very meshy, like glue. We ordered Singapore noodles after it reopened, it only has a few very tiny pieces of chicken in it, no shrimp and roast pork in it which are the main ingredients in Singapore noodles! The website for this restaurant is different from other real Han Dynasty website now. I believe this place has sold to someone else, I will never go back again!

I was extremely disappointed with the food. We enjoy spicy Asian duisine and this was not. The only dish that was spicy, was actually the wrong type of heat for asian cuisine. The noodles for the lo mein was over done as was the house fried rice. The spring rolls were closer to egg rolls. We have lived all over the us as well as Asian & European countries. Will never go back.

Food is delicious but they wont take a reservation for less than 5 people. Why is it that smaller tables are less important than larger tables? The lady on the phone was rude and even though we have dined there before and absolutely love their food I may choose a different location of Hans the next time around.

Have never really had authentic Chinese food but this was excellent. Our group of 4 tried 7 different dishes and they were all delicious. We actually bought another dish midway through our meal to try more. The service was great and everyone was very friendly. This place is definitely worth checking out.

Great Szechuan style chinese food place! They have an American menu as well as a more traditional menu. The cold pork belly is really good as are many of the other dishes. Since its Szechuan style it tends to be on the spicier side. They have a prefix tasting menu the second tuesday of every month.
