Although I enjoyed most of the food we had ordered my overall experience in this "restaurant" was absolutely appalling. The experience equal to what you would find ordering food for take out, in which you order and they take it out to your table. Not once, in the hour and thirty minutes my family of 3 was there, were we asked how we were doing let alone how the food was. Before the "server" came to our table he was "assisting" another table, take down their order, but in the middle of the customer talking the phone rings and the"server" picks up his portable phone!! I was shocked! What restaurant does this?? When he finally made it to our table I had a few questions about the food and the answers, if you want to call it that, were so vague. He couldnt describe the level of spiciness on mild or spicy. We first ordered out appetizers and dosa and said that we needed time to think about our entrees. After waiting about 15 mins until he came back to take our order, in which he never came in between to check how our appetizers were, I asked him if there was anything my 3 year old could eat that wasnt too spicy. He chuckled and said no. Yup, they didnt even have a simple kids menu. He suggested chicken fried rice which came in a a heaping plate filled with rice onions and cut up chicken. I couldnt even eat it let alone my child because there was onions in every bite! Last but no least after spending $75 dollars for 2 and a half people they had added a 3% "service charge"!! FOR WHAT?? WAS I ACTUALLY BEING SERVED?? 3%?? This was enough for me to never go back ever again. Oh and the "server" didnt even offer dessert! As we were leaving no words of thank you or, again, "how did you enjoy your meals?" This is most of the things that bothered me about this place e that I needed to write this review. They need to reevaluate their mission. I would rather do Chinese take-out than step foot in this place again.

Google should allow us to give zero stars and this place would be the first to get. Had a terrible experience today. I am so surprised to see it has good reviews. We were a party of 4 and ordered a variety of food and none of them were even okay to eat and a a few were inedible. The breakdown is as below. 1. Chicken lollipop and chicken 65 - my friends took it and according to them - too dry, over crispy and tasteless. 2. Gobi Manchurian - I have never eaten such dry gobi Manchurian and the waiter is so stingy to give us the ketchup. He gave us two spoons of ketchup in a small bowl - pathetic. 3. Dahi aloo puri - you will be happy to get dahi in it. It was full of sev. 4. Pav Bhaji - this was the worst of all. I can see how someone can mess up the bhaji, but how can you spoil the pav? It was so hard and looked like they used some expired bread. It had no butter in it. 5. Veg noodles - I had to hunt for vegetables, very bland and was torturous. Bad taste is magnified by unfriendly waiter. This place deserves to be closed. Management should close this place and save people from this torture.

Dosa Hut, at my very first visit last year was good. We visited it again this year in June 2013. To my dissatisfaction, the overpriced menu, along with poor quality of food forced me to write the review. If you are an Indian and you are aware of South Indian and North Indian food, you will know the difference once you taste the food there. $11 for a dosa felt exorbitant. In the name of Chicken Biryani for $15, what came was heaps of rice with chicken. Although, they try very hard to name different biryani in the name of price, they all are same. The table doesnt even have the basic chutneys served. Upon asking they get you very little chutney with Biryani. Sheer business and fooling people in the name of food. I doubt they will be in business for long if all they want is earn money by any means.

The Chat House deserves a "Most Improved Restaurant" award. I used to have a love hate relationship with this place. The food is simply amazing. This is place that got me addicted to Indian cuisine. Its hot, fresh, and tasty. This is the place to get a curry around here, hands down. The atmosphere and service used to be purely awful, but the food kept me coming back despite that. Im happy to report both the decor and the staff have improved significantly. Theres even a TV showing Indian soap operas or cricket matches, a nice touch. The food is very pricey, but I wont complain much seeing as how delicious it is.

I was there few days ago and ordered masala dosa. They have given me sambhar in very small bowl and chutney was hardly some spoons. when I ask for extra sambhar and chutney they charged me for that.I dont mind to pay extra but they already charge so much for 1 dosa.and their bowl was so small so I believe no one can finish dosa with one bowl. I feel so CHEATED AND DISAPPOINTED.All other restaurant gives free sambhar and chutney.I will never ever go there and whomever I know I will personally contact report not to go there.after my experience my 5-7 friends already stopped going there....PLEASE DONT GO EVER.....

Horrible service, Bad Food, Overpriced. Went in for lunch to only be ripped off but also insulted. Toothpick chewing attendant give me a glass with his plam on the rim with warm pitcher of water. Waiter delivers microwaved rice with his thumb on it. Rocky tables. Missing napkin holders. And Food...was really bad. Over salted and other than that no taste. Chicken literally looked like left over meat from other dishes. Small portions and poorly presented entree @ $13 is a ripoff. Also, told attendant that his food was bad and his reply "Ok, Thanks". That sums up their attitude.

Good food, prices were a bit on the high side- I have to agree with some of the other reviewers on the prices and lack of standard table fixings. Our friend suggested Dosa Hut for a small birthday dinner, it was good! We sampled about half the menu, what shined best was The Chicken Tikka Masala . Lots of chicken and they served with a mountain of nicely cooked Basmati rice. I cannot reference authentic Southern Indian cuisine as Ive never been to Southern India, but have been told the Dosas are authentic as are the chat & chutneys.

The food is good and prices are about where they should be. Ive only ordered takeout but the place needs a new paint job on the inside and the staff could be friendlier. I once waited in the restaurant while they made my food and after 10-15 minutes, they rang me up and then were incredulous that I had a credit card. Apparently (although it isnt posted anywhere) they dont take credit cards for bills under $15. Had I known that, I would have gone to get cash while I waited. Overall, the food is good though so I would go back.

Online ordering is a nightmare. They charged me for the same order twice. On speaking to the one of the managers, they said we will give you store credit. It was a large amount of $75. I only redeemed $35 or so once. Next time when I wanted to redeem, they said no credit available. I explained my situation. They said the management changed so they cant do anything and did not seem like they care. They owe me so much money, still. This is really not fair. Is this how they run a business, by taking other peoples money?
