9/7/2015 Previous review ++Buca di Beppo I was told means Joes basement. (Robinson Towne Center - Pittsburgh, Pa.) It is dark like a basement but you wont notice because of the 2200 photos on the walls lit up with several lights. ++The hostess Casi gave me a tour of the rooms some of which are: The Cardinal Room, The Pope Room, The Peach Room, and more. ++There are photos of Sinatra, wines, love (1930s), Posters (1920s and more!! A virtual museum!!! Even the ceiling has photos!! ++You can book the table in the kitchen and watch them prepare the food. It appeared to seat 6 or so. ++I dined with my niece at lunch and also had a conversation with other patrons who are regulars and they love the food here. ++I had a bowl of meatless spaghetti (enough for two), a creamy Caesar Salad (just the way I like it) and the mozzarella garlic bread (splendido). ++My niece had the Chicken Parmesan (which was a huge portion) and the same bread. ++I returned from walking my niece to her car to take photos and met the Manager. He talked about the restaurant and gave me another tour of some of the rooms. ++As a food blogger and sometimes restaurant reviewer I must say the ambiance is great and so is the food!! ++There are locations in 28 states and the United Kingdom. They are owned by Planet Hollywood International. ++See my personal photos!! Read less

I only ordered take-out from this location, so didnt get to experience the table service, but based on the friendly nature of the staff at the take-out counter, Im sure this will not be an issue. It was my first visit to a Buca Di Beppo and wasnt sure what to expect. In general, the food did not disappoint. The portions were very generous, especially since I was traveling alone. The chopped anitpasto salad was huge, flavorful and carried over to lunch the next day. The pasta and chicken entree, though it was a "smaller" single person portion, could have been split between two. While I have not sampled much from their menu, the quality did not disappoint, especially considering the quantity. If I have any minor issues with the food, its that the entree was a touch on the bland side, particularly the lemon butter sauce that accompanied the chicken saltimbocca. The pasta was slightly overcooked, though that could also have been an issue of it sitting in the takeout containing for the trip back to the hotel. The restaurants decor was interesting, with lots of photos and Italian memorabilia filling the walls, which made the roughly 15 minute wait for the take-out order all that much more bearable.

The food is good. But after living in Boston for 30 yrs, we were able to enjoy the best Italian food cooked by first generation Italians. The only food better is in Italy. We have eaten here before with a 3 of 5 star feeling. However on this visit we waited to be seated. Three hosts passed us like we were invisible. When I asked a 4th guy if the manager was in he did not know who the manager was. But agreed to get their supervisor (after he took 2 more phone calls). One of the guys mentioned above returned to the Hosts station & asked "Can I help you ". I ask him if he remembered walking past us? "No" We left Manage Jackie came out to our car and begged us to return & they would pick up the full check. We got to talking & she mentioned they were going through some "Growing pains" with staffing. Perhaps they need to fire a few, starting with 2 hosts with the longest tenure because they should know better than to walk past patrons waiting to be seated. Plus this might get the attention of the rest of the staff. She agreed and again offered us a free meal if we came back in. We decided to pass anyhow.

After a long day of delays at the airport, my family was looking forward to a great meal. I looked at the reviews and was skeptical, but really wanted Italian food so we went anyway. After ordering 3 dishes, it took 45 minutes for the food to arrive. The chicken saltimbocca was cold and dry, the summer green bean blend was only green beans (and several of the ends werent trimmed) and the summer fettuccini was made completely incorrectly. It was supposed to be a zucchini, carrot and fettuccini noodle blend with shrimp. We were brought a fettuccini noodle dish with shredded carrots on top and no zucchini or shrimp. We decided to eat anyway since we were so hungry, but the dish was so peppery, it couldnt even be eaten. It wasnt labeled or intended to be that spicy. Overall, it was an incredibly disappointing experience. We certainly wont eat here again and will be sure to warn others as well.

We started with the calimari and bussel sprouts with prosciutto. Both were extremely good. For the main course we order the chicken parmesan and spaghetti and meatballs. The chicken parmesan was one of the best I ever had. Extremely tender. The spaghetti... not so much. The bowl was full of water. I had to ask the waitress to take it back, drain it and add more tomato sause. The meat balls that they gave you were the size of baseballs. That is no exaderation. My family did not like the way they tasted. They did not seem scratched made.

Slow service but decent food. I loved the decor and the receptionist who seated us was nice but thats about all we liked. The booth that we were seated at was dirty with crumbs all over it. Service was slow and they did not refill drinks -- we had to wait a while without any drinks while we had food. It took an hour to get food. Servers more interested in chatting than providing service.

The lunch portions were great. We all got separate meals, and three of us took our food home. The staff was fantastic and friendly. They did more for us than most, if not all, restaurants weve been to. If you ever do visit here, ask for the chefs table. It was a nice experience to sit in the kitchen and be in the center of it all. Would definitely recommend this place.

There is a weird smell about this place, almost like it needs to be stored out. The ingredients did not seem fresh, and the chicken was obviously reheated. You would be better off going to any other commercial Italian restaurant as this place tries to come off as authentic, but the same quality can be obtained from the never ending pasta no served across the street.

Awesome salad, neat atmosphere..we are Italian so we are used to some very authentic Italian food our entree was good but we wish we would of ordered the red sauce instead of the alfredo cream sauce we did. Just cause we our more red sauce people.... My daughter ate here before and said the manicotti was out of this world. So we will come back! No complaints though.

Made a reservation and waited an hour for them to completely ignore us and not even give us any update. The sad thing is there was even a manager running the host stand. The only good thing was the one poor hostess who kept telling him he needed to seat us. Finally we left and took our business else where.

Was only once, but got to sit in the kitchen. My young son thought it was great and I enjoyed watching and eating. Did not think the food was anything better than an olive garden or something of the link but the eat in the kitchen option is a nice touch.
