Came in with a small group because we didnt want Starbucks. The staff could have starred in a follow up episode to Seinfelds "Soup Nazi." Not one smile or even courtesy. Its as if they didnt want us there. I ordered a shot in the dark and the pretentiousness I was greeted with was off the charts. I asked jokingly, "are you judging my order?" The response was a curt deadpan "yes." It was so unfriendly it was actually comical. Lighten up guys. You make a good cup of coffee but youre not curing cancer or anything.

Espresso and other coffee drinks are on the expensive side, although generally worth it, but the rotating (!) coffee selection is very reasonable priced and always an incredible tasting experience. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and will always make recommendations for what to drink and what to look for when you drink it (like flavors changing as it cools). The space is nice, friendly, and bright, and in the spring they open their big garage door. Definitely the best place in the city for coffee.

I walked in on a hot, early summer day after exploring the city. Where most places that sell alcohol or dont seem like tourist-traps are intimidating to the outsider, this place isnt so. There is a 20/30someyear old crowd and on the saturday night I went the atmosphere was surprisingly laid back. A couple of people chillin outdoors, a couple on their laptops, and two guys arguing about marvel vs. Dc franchise flicks. Love this place, friendly knowledgable staff, plus I can drink my IPA in peace

From espresso to mocha, sandwiches to cupcakes, the essentials for a cafe are very near to perfect. Coffee lovers/professionals run the place and all the staff are affable and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is wonderfully "Philadelphia." Great people from the local community. I have been a regular for over a year, I still hit some of the other coffee joints in the region but I keep coming back to Ultimo, the best.

so Im a coffee shop snob. sure I can enjoy a place just because its a coffee shop but this place is going to be a hit. they just opened up months ago. They make incredible latees have fantastic indoor and outdoor seating with tons of windows! its new, so the crowd isnt going there constantly yet, but they will be soon. a fantastic addition to the Philly caffeine scene.

Ultimo is pretty much what youd expect.. a bastion of gentrification in an old neighborhood. The coffee is really good (it better be for that price), and the staff is much friendly than that of similar places in South Philly. You can also get beer there, so what are you waiting for? Just dont buy your cheap domestic beer here. Because it wont be cheap.

Awesome coffee selection! African, Central & South American coffees. All supplied by the world renowned company Counter Culture. Environment is casual, happy & relaxed. All types of people come here. Meaning that its not known as hipster preppy or anything else. Come as you are and just relax and enjoy an exquisite cup of coffee.

This is my go-to coffee shop. Great place to study or catch up with a friend. They also have a good selection of draft and bottled beers that you can drink there or take with you. A great place to grab a beer and relax if you arent feeling a bar atmosphere.

Their beer selection is pretty great, and its located in a great area if you want to grab a quick bite to eat. The staff is ways friendly and they ways have great beer suggestions if Im not sure what I want to get.

It was a lot like Laptopistan but there was still space for the two of us to enjoy coffee without anyone looking at us like why dont we just shut up. The best part was we were able to buy a six pack on the way out.
