~I just moved in on the same block, & noticed the hordes of people lining up on Friday/Saturday before Easter. I had to see what Stocks Bakery was all about.. First impressions: Upon entrance it was like walking into my grandmamas kitchen as a child for desert time at a big family party. Mesmerized by the assortments of pastries & cakes on display, all the while drooling from my mouth, & the aroma teasing my sense of smell. I decided to go with the traditional white icing pound cake(pictured)...im not lying when I say a slice of this pound cake was so devilishly delectable, I had a 2nd slice & went to Heaven. I am looking forward to going back to try a new treat, after I have a chance to work off those previous slices of pound cake. Recommendations: Stocks Bakery is fairly easy to walk by with a small decal & window, inside décor is a bit dated, but I guess it adds to the 5 generation family owned business nostalgia. I would personally add a POS system to increase sales & customer base, but then again I can understand the "old world" way of doing all cash business. The Don approves of this establishment & will be back~

A small plain looking local bakery that has been around for decades. They specialize in a legendary pound cake. Locals have grown up eating this cake on holidays, weddings and if your lucky enough to live nearby any time they feel like it. Decorations and alterations are sparse but the quality of both the product and the people who work there is why this bakery is so loved in the area. The cake is firm, solid and heavy. It is to be eaten with milk and savored. It may be frozen for future use. Thawed out, it keeps its flavor and quality. Try it.

I was just in your bakery for the first time and pretty upset how the girl with blue hair and blue nail polish treated my sister. She has a bad attitude that needs to be fixed. I had to walk out before saying something to her. She had an attitude to my sister cause she ask if she wanted her to grab her order with her dirty look and rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing. If you hate customers so bad dont work there. Its a shame cause I wanted to buy something buy walked out cause of that lady.

When we were kids, my Dad worked at the Jack Frost Sugar Refinery (Now the Sugarhouse Casino) and would stop at least once a week at Stocks after finishing third shift. We bought all our birthday cakes and special occasion cakes from them. This place is awesome. Its the best pound cake Ive ever had. When I get down to the area I pick up a few to give one to my Mom and freeze. If you ever get a "under par" cake theyll replace it. Their donuts are to die for, too.

I heard about Stocks so I went there and got a cake and the pound cake was dry and flavorless. I went a second time thinking I must have gotten an old cake or something and told the owner about my first experance. He assured me the cake was fresh. It was fresh but I still found it dry and flavorless. I suggest people who go to Stocks never had a real good pound cake to compare it too. Try other bakeries and you will see what I mean.

Some of the best pound cake Ive ever had. I could tell that staff is used to folks just coming in and knowing what they want. However, this was my first time there and I had questions regarding their popular options. They were not super friendly to say I was a first time customer. Pricing here was also not transparent or listed for everyone to see.

Its good cake but BAD service! I called to add a name to a cake that had NOT been finished and they said they could not add a name to the cake. Also, they said they make the cakes 36 hours before you pick up the order. That makes me feel great! Freshness is always better. So Ill be taking my business somewhere else.

This is Stocks Bakery. Do I need to say anything more? If you have never had a pound cake from Stocks, then you dont know what pound cake is. Oh Yeah! We order our wedding cake here as well. What a great deal. They are the best. Love ya. Bye

Not sure why everyone at my job loves them. The pound cake was incredibly dry and tasteless. If this is what theyre known for Id hate to find out what their other baked "goods" taste like. Be sure to have a gallon of milk ready.

I love family owned businesses. This place was small but not at all lacking in quality. I had the chance to taste some of thier pound cake, cheese cake and a sugar cookie. All of which were pleasing to look at and very yummy.

Their pound cakes and butter cakes are some of the best. They also have a friendly staff. Be prepared to wait on the weekends because theyre so popular.
