I was in a large party and we stumbled into Orange Blossom by pure luck, and luck it was! They were totally slammed, literally a line out the door, we took that as a good sign and happily waited. While waiting a nice woman behind the counter shouted that they were incredibly busy and she apologized but assured everyone they would be taken care of - what a class act! The wait was worth it, I had an Apple Ugly, which was fantastic, it fed me for 2.5 sessions and I typically have a hardy appetite. My wife had a bacon and egg bagel, everything was hot, good and LARGE. Everyone who worked there was friendly and helped make our experience there one of the highlights of our trip - Thank you Orange Blossom!

APPLE UGLIES! The pastries are AWESOME! We did not have any sandwiches so I cannot comment on them bit the pasties are great even then next day! The Apple UGLIES are huge and will have to be shared with at least one other person. I ordered a dozen donut holes and ended up with more like 25-30, the girl behind the counter just grabbed a couple of handfuls and put them in the bag! The physical building is old and looks dirty and rundown past the point of "homie" but we didnt stay long. The food was good and the selection appeared to be robust but we could not finish what we had so we did not try anything else! I will be returning to thins place every time we come back to OBX!

Yep, its everything the ratings said it is, and more - went yesterday for breakfast, loved it so much, we went back again this morning on our way back home! Get the breakfast burrito - awesome salsa, perfect tortilla, and I just loved the sausage! Daughter loved the breakfast biscuit so much she got it both days. And the apple ugly? Its huge, and utterly flipping awesome!!! Their coffee was even awesome, too. Love the quaint atmosphere, customer service is extremely friendly as well. Just dont be in a hurry, theyre busy, and personalized. And not much room, either, so seating and parking may be a pickle, but all worth it and then some!!!!

I have been vacationing in Cape Hatteras since for 23 years. The Orange Blossom has always been the place for our traditional breakfast. The Apple Ugly is delicious along with everything else they offer. You do have to get there early, but its completely worth it. We even have a painting of the storefront from way back when it started out hanging in our home. Its a special place where families have come for breakfast for years, and I hope it doesnt change. Most of the Cape has been over run with tourists since everyone has discovered its beauty. Its nice to visit and still find some places havnt changed :)

Good coffee and basic donuts. The Apple Uglies are gigantic, so its easy to buy too many. But my breakfast sandwich was why I graded them down. Sandwiches take a long time when its busy (eg 8:30am), and my sausage was unnaturally hot -- like it had been in the microwave too long. I dont want microwaved sausage and mediocre eggs on a dry croissant. The giant fruit pies have a tasty crust, are full of pie "filling" rather than any semblance of fruit. Go for the donuts and coffee, but skip the breakfast sandwiches.

I tried the apple uglies, double dipped donut holes, and a donut - all melt in your mouth delicious! The java coffee was great with my chocolate donut. There are so many other pastries that I wanted to try, so multiple visits may be required. Im going to make another trip there before I leave Avon. It is a very popular place open limited hours, so the line may be long but moves pretty quickly. The parking is also pretty scarce, so you may have to squeeze in or park elsewhere and take a short walk. Worth it!

Its a really cute place. You can tell their sole focus is the food and coffee. We got the apple ugly and it was delicious of course. We also got the cinnamon bun with cream cheese icing (though we cant possibly eat all of it in one sitting between the two of us even!). Best cream cheese icing EVER - coming from a cream cheese super fan. Perfectly creamy, tangy, sweet taste without that powdery feel from sugar that some icings have. Will stopping again during our trip!

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Visited Buxton last week and went to this cafe probably 4-5x over the course of the week. Coffee = YUM! (Very good coffee, and Im picky.) Breakfast burrito is amazing! This was my daily breakfast. Also splurged on a cinnamon twist. Never ate at the cafe, although it looked like a great option. To Go can be busy, so just be prepared to wait a few minutes if you need a non-bakery item. Well worth it. All the ladies were super nice.

If they sell out you have to go to back of line and try your luck to get apple ugly... unless your are in good graces of the young lady running the register. Then she will let you wait. After 2 hours and 3 times in line and missing and being tired of being surrounded by now grumpy staff and customers we left. They are usually good but this year they turned old. Gingerbread house doesnt have the history but is as good and more dougnut variety 10 minutes south in Frisco.

Finally got to try a Apple Ugly from the Orange Blossom after some failed attempts. Make sure you get there early since they sell out fast. I recommend pre-ordering the day before. Dont try to get food at the end of the tourist season; they are out of everything. I digress...This Apple Ugly was a welcomed fried doughy goodness first thing in the morning. The croissant, ham and cream cheese sandwich was mediocre. Make sure you bring cash since they dont take plastic.

I love the pastries --- they are five stars. But line is so long, the coffee and breakfast sandwiches are very average and not the real scrambled eggs n thick country bacon of years before. AC is weak n the dining n serving areas are loaded with flies. I had a frosted pastry n it was stale like it was a leftover from yesterday. If the owner is the same, they need to check mgmt bc this place has fallen.

We love this bakery. They have great pastries and even have coffee too. We always have to get the apple uglies which are awesome! They are huge, perfectly baked, and perfectly sweet. We tried the reapers this time (which is a cherry pastry) which was totally as expected, awesome! Its a great bakery here in OBX. A definite stop every time we visit. The staff is really nice as well.

Cute little place. Some say it is run down I say its well loved. This place has a line out the door almost the whole time they are open. It is well worth the wait. Everything is made from scratch and delicious! We get the biscuits, croissants, donuts, donut holes, and of course the famous apple ugly. All super delicious and not over priced. Must go to this place when tou visit.
