Ive been by the building a million times but I never actually knew what it was. I always assumed it was a defunct business and not open any longer. Still, we tried it for lunch yesterday and to my surprise, not only was it open, but there were also a considerable amount of people inside! The first thing I noticed was that they have a sushi chef on staff. Ive never been to a brew pub that had sushi. The next thing I noticed was that they also had wood-fired pizza. I always take a restaurant with that many options as being a bad sign. Some of the best restaurants I have been to have featured only a handful of options. Having more than that can sometimes be a little overwhelming. Lets just say it was Sunday afternoon and Saturday night had been long and eventful. So, I was in the mood for a big, messy sandwich. When I saw the brisket sandwich my mind was made. I also got one of their house beers, the El Rio. The beer was great. A more complex take on mexican beers like Corona or Tecate. I would definitely get it again. Unfortunately, my sandwich was lacking. Maybe its just me, but I want my smoked brisket to have multiple levels of flavor. Beyond the smokiness of the meat, Id love some sort of spice from a dry rub or a sauce. This had neither. It came topped with jack cheese and a "Sriracha Slaw". The cheese was nice, but there was absolutely no spice from the slaw. I almost feel like they didnt include it when they prepared my food. Oh well, I was starving and didnt feel like complaining. The brioche bun was amazing and the sandwich together was all pretty good. Their house made chips are excellent. Very crunchy and tossed in a spice blend similar to Old Bay. Sandwiches and burgers also come with house pickles. Although Im not a huge fan of pickles, I have to say these were great! My dad got a wood fired pizza. The serving size was quite generous and he was quite full so he passed on a piece to me. I immediately regretted my decision. The pizza was awesome! The crust was of perfect consistency and the toppings were great. He went with the poboy and added chicken. The amount of chicken was generous and the chipolte ranch sauce was just right. I definitely want to check this place out again!

Dont even try going near this place on a weekend. They forgot that they are a "brewery and restaurant", and seem to fit more into the "drunken frat party filled with a bunch of raging idiots" category. My family entered and were not greeted with a Hello, but instead a disappointed "Oh, youre here to eat?" That should have been a sign. We waited over an hour and a half to be seated only after complaining to the manager. The hostess crossed our name out for no reason at all and we were simply ignored. He sat us in the outside area, where we felt like we were in a nightclub. Great atmosphere to have a family dinner with over 200 drunk college students and booming music. After being moved inside, we waited forever for our food (which was the only decent thing there), were never asked how things were, and then waited over 45 minutes for dessert and check. (half of us were standing and ready to leave without paying at this point) Long story short, the manager didnt seem to give a crap about us. Instead, the young inexperienced moron wanted to make sure that there was enough alcohol for the kids and that we were out of there. They should change the name from "Manayunk Brewery and Restaurant" to "Manayunk if you want to eat, dont even bother we only want money from college kids who we probably let drive home wasted, oh and we make our own average tasting beer too." Never again!

Customer service is a zero. After a night out for dinner at the brew pub, we left disappointed and are sure to never return. After ordering appetizers first and entrees later and even stressed to the waitress (who was essentially non existent in a barely filled restaurant) that we wanted time between courses, all of our food appeared at once. The runner and waitress seemed befuddled and the manager came out and was belligerent, she did not apologize or ask what she can do to make it right. Instead she tells us that it is a "Very big restaurant and the kitchen has many areas" so thats why the food comes out that way. I offered that regardless of the restaurants size, the waitstaff and kitchen need to coordinate these things. she then countered with "Well you ordered the fish and chips which cooks very fast, thats why everything arrived so quickly" really....? After returning the entrees, they seemed to spite us and brought the entrees 45 minutes later when the restaurant was near empty. Oh and did we mention our friend was pregnant and we had our two year old with us? Bottom line- worst customer service experience weve had in a long time. For a nice beer selection, better food and better service in manayunk - try Craft across the street!

My husband and I decided to stop for a late lunch along with our 2 boys and a friend. We frequent the craft beer scene and like Manayunk Brewery beers. While there were 2 larger parties that sat before us, there were multiple empty tables. Our table sat for 15 minutes before we were greeted. We asked to order immediately and requested that our sons food be brought as soon as they were ready. Approximately 30 minutes later all of the adult food was brought out (lukewarm) and our childrens food still had yet to arrive. The waiter did a great job keeping our boys happy with popcorn and was kind enough to offer to comp their meals. While we were waiting for our kids food, we witnessed the table next to us be bussed. The busser used the floor broom to clean items off the table. No sanitizing wipe was used on the table and it was immediately set to be used again. When brought to the attention of the manager on duty, his response was only that the individual was new and to apologize. Nothing was done to further clean the table before another family sat to eat. Between this vile health and safety violation, poor order management, and overpriced, cold food I will never step foot in this establishment again.

Service generally doesnt matter to me in a restaurant, the food does, but this place was just unbearable. I was so extremely disappointed with the service. Went in for some appetizers and drinks, ended up being there for 2 1/2 hours, secondary to the appetizers taking 1 hour to come out. Had to ask three different servers walking by what was going on, which they did not seem phased by, and got three different answers. Because my assigned server was no where to be found. It was not even busy! Also, given no napkins or silverware and had to go to another table to take the silverware off of it. This is restaurant and hospitality basics... come on now! I always give places a second chance, but I will never go back or suggest this place to anyone. The food was basic and the mixed drinks were weak and watered down. Honestly, dont think this place will last much longer.

The resident brewery of Main St is Manayunk Brewing Company, aka "Brew Pub". The best things about this place are a) the multitude of different bar areas, and b) a huge outdoor deck on the riverbank, which is gorgeous in the warmer months. The food is solidly American pub fare, and of average price and taste. Weirdly enough, they have a good sushi bar. Sometimes the beer can be a little muddy in flavor, but its nice to have a brewery in town. On weekend evenings, the pub is mobbed by the college crowd, and you will likely need to pay a cover and/or get carded hard. The payoff is some great live music, if you can deal with the crowd. There is a listing of all the floods on the brewery wall and the height they reached in the ground floor. This is a dubious point of pride, as Im sure plenty of brew batches have been lost to the raging waters...
