Went to location in Newtown. To start out with something good, the atmosphere is nice and the prices are average. The menu has all the standard rolls and whatnot, along with some house specialties, but nothing mind-blowing or unique. As for the food, lets take it one by one... unagi roll - below average, not sure whether the fish wasnt moist enough or the sauce wasnt sweet enough, but didnt hit the spot like it usually does. salmon roll - average, plain, boring... though really it would be like that anywhere smoked salmon sashimi - nice flavor, seemed fresh and decent portion spicy tuna hand roll - this is what killed it for me. First, it was NOT spicy, and the flavor was cheap. It was as if someone took canned chunk tuna and mixed it with buffalo and ranch or blue cheese dressing and slopped it onto a rice hand roll. Saved it for last since i usually love it, but ended up defining the entire dinner as regrettable. Conclusion - considering the other sushi restaurants in town, make this a last resort, as it doesnt hold a candle to Oisha

I have been going to Ota-Ya since it opened. This place is small, but the food is large. Bring your own Sake (chilled of course, that warm stuff is awful) and an empty stomach. The owners are very friendly and know us by name. You also get more sushi "bang for your buck" (there is no sushi bar and no hibachi). Enjoy!!!

Otaya is a great little secret in Newtown. The sushi and other items are great. Not a lot of fanfare...but nice for a quiet sushi get away. Byob. Watch hours as they close between lunch and dinner. Wish they didnt I like to go out when its quiet.

Ive tried all the sushi places in the Newtown/Yardley/Morrisville area and this is my #1. If I want quality sushi, I go here. Its above the standards of any of the other sushi places in the area and the service is the best.

Though the sushi is delicious, the staff is horrible. Youll be waiting for 30 minutes before someone seats you, even if there are tables available. Waited another hour to get our sushi. Highly recommend to do pick up.

A local gem. Food is always great. Eat in or take out. This place does sushi right. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Absolutely worth your time. I recommend the soft shell crab roll.

I got the sushi and sashimi deluxe boat and some other food it was all good. It was not the best I have ever had but it was worth what I paid. The other people seemed to enjoy their food too.

Overpriced and not high quality. If you want good sushi in Newtown, go to Oishi.
