Will never go here again. Saw all the great reviews & decided to give it a try. Sat for 15 mins before we even got menus. Lady who served us was strung the hell out and couldnt even remember who to give the coffee to (3/4 of us ordered coffee). Food took extremely long and came out wrong. I ordered porkroll/cheese on a bagel, toasted, 1pc of cheese and well done w a side of homefries. I was served pork roll on a non toasted bagel with 2 or 3 slices of cheese not undercooked and no homefries. Save your self the trouble - all of our food came out wrong. Do not go here!!

I do not know what the other reviewers are talking about! The food, service and the prices at the Athenian Restaurant are fantastic. The atmosphere is relaxing and the waitresses always makes us feel right at home. Whenever we want to have a wonderful breakfast, with top notch service, with very warm caring service, we choose the Athenian every time! We had a wonderful breakfast last Sunday before a trip to Baltimore. It was the perfect way to start our day and our long trip!

this is a perfectly fine diner. I had a lunch special. soup and salad were good. entre was much tastier than the same dish at Mayfair diner or the Country Club. Based on the name, Athenian, I went in looking for Greek dishes, but there were none. But the service was very good. Glad I tried it.

The best waitstaff and prices in NE Philly!! Great Early Bird specials, soups are so good plus a really fresh dinner salad. One of the last great diners left in Philly with reasonable prices. I had scrambled eggs, home fries, toast, coffee w/ refills for under $5.00.

The waitress was high on something and messed all our orders up and couldnt even bring all the food out at the same time because she couldnt carry the plates lol then the food was cooked wrong and she kept forgetting what everyone even ordered

Waitresses are great. Friendly and engaging with customers. Specials are very reasonable. I have been coming here for several years and have never had a problem with the food or waitresses. Owners are very nice as well.

Have only been here once...my experience was pleasant. It is a very relaxed comfy atmosphere. The pros = pleasant staff, reasonable prices and decent food. Cons = cash only with an ATM on site and limited parking
