I have never left the country place hungry and displeased until tonight. I took my friend out for his birthday tonight and a few other friends of mine joined us. The "Manager" (old lady with white hair) as she called herself came over with an extra menu before our server got to us and singled out a member of our group and said in front of everyone eating he will not be served tonight!!!! No ALCOHOL Thinking to my self my co worker who attends The Country Place multiple times a week for a meal after work, who is known by all the bartenders, that had just worked a 14 hour day got accused of being intoxicated. I could not believe the nerve of the lady who does not deserve to represent the country place as a manager. There is no reason on a Monday night to act like a big shot at a high end club and say someone is intoxicated simply because he looked tired. Waitresses at the establishment sided with my good friend because they know him as a good responsible customer and even told us that the manager was disrespectful and that they them selves would walk out if they were treated like that.

The best part of my meal was the Smithwicks. The entree was very marginal (crab cakes, steak, and fettuccine Alfredo), very little textural difference between the crab and pasta, (both very mushy), and the Alfredo tasting more like mac-n-cheese. The steak was charred, not to be confused with carmelized, on the outside to the point where it overpowered the flavor of the steak. The Black Forest Cherry Cake was a dried out German chocolate cake with a thin layer of chocolate icing with a few pieces of diced maraschino cherries mixed in between the layers, and frosted with a thin layer of what tasted like cream cheese frosting, either that or whipped cream icing that had gone bad. I guess you get what you pay for. Not going back there. Oh, and hardly anyone that was working the evening we were there looked happy, from the hostess, to the seater, to the buss folk, dont think they knew how to smile; and it was a very loud environment. Like I said, not going back.

Best restaurant in the area I have friends and family that always want to go here when visiting from out of country, out of state or even one county over. Highly affordable dinner for my family (5 adults) (3 kids too) with alcohol and apps probably around $85. With entrees starting at $6 and beer as low as $1.50 per pint, and liqueur options almost as low, youd expect the food quality to be lower. But its SOME OF THE BEST DAMN FOOD IVE EVER EATEN!!! Large dishes hearty wholesome homestyle cooking. I like to always order a cheese steak for later at home, theyre only $3 and because of that its always in the cards. The service is top notch these servers are wonderful, nice, sweet, knowledgeable of the menu and always eager to please. Tipping is hard here because with the low prices the standard gratuity percentage calculations are always underwhelming so remember to tip them appropriately, they deserve it!

Yes, this place is very affordable - if you are a meat and potatoes type of person - this place is great. My family went here today and my kids had the pizza - they said it was mediocre (soggy crust). My husband had the steak, it was bland and slightly undercooked. I had a tuna fish sandwich which was terribly soggy. I would not go back. Place seemed a little dingy and run down. If you want alcohol - then this is the place to go - also very cheap. I was looking forward to this place after reading the reviews, but I was left unimpressed - I couldnt finish my sandwich it was so soggy.

I did not like this place. I heard it was a favorite among the locals. So I went and tried the place. Looking at the menu, I noticed how cheap the prices were. Now I know why, food was not good at all. No flavor, weird mussy textures, obviously cheap food. Our waitress was not helpful, not very friendly. She looked tired and fed up. I cant blame her, the table next to us, was very needy and rude. The place itself was old and it was obvious. Oh, they are cash only as well. Again, you get what you pay for. Overall, not good at all, I will not be going back. I do not recommend.

Over all good experience. The food is pretty good for being cheap and our waitress was extremely pleasant. As I was paying our bill some old lady who I assume is a manager of some sort walks up to my ten year old son and says "You know it only takes one person to pay the bill, the rest of you couldve waited over there" I couldnt believe my ears, so rude! To a ten year old child no less. It took what should of been a 4/5 experience and brought it down to 2/5 and thats being generous. Needless to say we wont be back.

This place is terrible they made us wait for 37 minutes to tell us that because we had a baby stroller we couldnt be seated. I have a 2month old baby and they wanted me to place him in a dirty high chair, how can you possibly place a 2 month old infant in a high chair. The hosted had the nerve to tell me strollers and wheelchairs are not allowed. LIKE REALLY thats just plain ridiculous, never will I go back or recommend this restaurant. So make sure if you have a baby or your handicap you stay away from there!!!

If the food wasnt so good and the prices werent so cheap Id never eat here again. Terrible customer service. The waitresses always look miserable and never go out of their way for customers. Multiple times that Ive come in Ive been left waiting to be seated while the staff walks by, glaring in my direction, clearly knowing that Ive been standing at the front for awhile, but instead of getting the hostess or offering to help themselves, they just ignore us. Disappointing.

I have only been here once, however after a long day of fishing, my buddy suggested we eat here because it was cheap. I figured that it would be bit sized servings - however after ordering their $3.20 Weber (cheese steak hoagie) I soon found out that it was a full sized cheese steak! I was very impressed - I am definitely taking my wife here for dinner sometime since we both like to eat out, but dont really like the prices at just about every place in the area.

The food and the atmosphere was horrible. It was so loud my fiance couldnt hear me talk and the tables were so close together you had no room to move. The steak was so overcooked we couldnt chew it. The lobster was crunch, dry, and had no flavor. My butter was watery and didnt taste like anything, my mash potatos were runny. The only thing we got that tasted ok was the cucumber salad. That is the second bad experiance in a row. I will not go there again.

Was there last nite. Bad service in bar area. Will need alot of improvement. Juke box was blaring. Ordered coffee, got a half of cup. Took almost 15 min, for refill which I didnt get because couldnt stand music. Only serverer any good is John, I think thats his name. He waited on us two weeks ago. Very attentive and aware of our needs.
