Garden Vietnamese Restaurant is a nice little spot in mid-town. The food is excellent and I would suggest it, well worth a try. My favs: Pho w/ steak, tendon & tripe. Steamed rice w/ shredded pork, fried egg, grilled pork and pork loaf. and crispy spring rolls w/ peanut sauce. Their weekend specials are good took, it took awhile to get it (they sometimes were out-of-stock), but the Beef Stew is really awesome, the Hue Pho Soup is alright, not my fav. spring rolls are awesome too. this is a long narrow building with a small parking lot next to it that can fit about 10 cars or 8 suvs. has been open since 1999. This neighborhood used to look so ghetto and shady before they built that HACC campus. There used to be drug dealers and homeless people on the same street. Now you wouldnt even recognize it, compared to what it used to be. the parking is alright, they have a small lot beside the restaurant hat can fit about 10 cars. they also have on-street parking available. If you look at the doorstep is the color of south vietnams flag. UPDATE 01-27-08 I havent been here in about 4 months and their prices really have sky rocketed! small soup price: 5.00 (was 4.50) Large soup price 6.00 (was 5.00) Viet Iced Coffee 2.50 (was 1.75) , Grilled Porkchop 7.25 (was 6.00) Ill admit the portion actually seemed slightly bigger, but holy crap was I upset. since they opened that HACC campus across the street, their prices have risen by at least 35% thats kinda crazy. the food is very good, but the prices are a little salty.

The food is excellent, reasonably priced, and promptly made. The service is also very prompt, although you will have to flag down a server when you need something additional. The decor is what youd expect in a Vietnamese place. This is the restaurant I patronize most frequently. I go there at least twice a month, if not more, and the experience has been consistently great. Reading over some of the other reviews, I cant help but notice that the "poor" ones were written by morons and/or jerks. The guy who said he got sick was either flat-out lying or mistaken as to the cause; the food is fresh and well-prepared, and Ive never had a problem with it. And the person who said the staff are rude is clearly just a dick.

Garden is a great little Pho shop. Any of the Pho soups are great, and the spring rolls as well. My wife has had other things, and liked everything. While the prices may have risen lately, its not like they are outrageous, just a bit more than they used to be. This isnt a function of HACC being next door, but a function of the costs of food these days. Dont hold this against Garden (or any restaurant for that matter) for having to raise prices due to the economy. Still the best ethnic meal two people can get for under $20!! Go to the Garden for dinner, then the Reily for a movie :-)

This is my favorite restaurant in Harrisburg. I thought about saying "favorite restaurant dollar-for-dollar" because its so cheap, but I like it more than that. Every time I go, I get one of two things: the vermicelli or the pho. And the spring rolls to start. And probably a Vietnamese coffee. The prices are ridiculous.

This place is phenomenal. Great pho, especially their Garden Soup which is not vegetarian despite the name. Its really spicy and full of beef, tofu, sausage, noodles, sprouts and other vegetables. Its only available on Friday and Saturday. Prices are very reasonable. I was a regular after my first visit.

Stopped in for lunch one day to check it out. Service was prompt but the server hardly spoke any English. She didnt understand when I asked for chicken pho. And they didnt have any bean sprouts which was very disappointing as its one of the ingredients I enjoy best.

We loved the food that we ordered and were surprised at how low our bill was when we were finished. I couldnt recommend this place more. Parking is a bit of an issue though depending on the time of day you go. Worst case scenario you have to feed the meter.

Food is amazing, however they are always extremely rude. I also dont like how they let someones small child run around and scream. I love that its a family-owned business, but its not your living room. I get take out to avoid them.

The BEST place to eat for the price in Harrisburg! Number 33 (Ginger chicken) is a meal and a half and tastes amazing! Dont miss the Fri & Sat Beef stew special!!

When you eat all the meat and noodles and the broth is still roiling, its a sign the restaurant uses a thickening agent as a shortcut. Good pho doesnt need that.

First time visit. Had a little piece of menu items. Need more visits to determine a more accurate rating. Food size was very good in relation to price.
