My partner and I went to Asian Bistro last evening (5/14/13). The experience was horrible. The waiter took our order after about 10 minutes. The drink order arrived about 15 mins. later. We waited 20 more minutes for the appetizer, at which time our waiter said "Im sorry for the delay, I forgot to put in your order," when I actually witnessed him putting in the order directly after taking it. We waited another 30 minutes and still no food. Meanwhile he had not returned to out table, but waited on other customers. We began to question what was going on. People who came in later then us had received their meals and were finishing up. I asked to see the management, of course that did not happen. I asked for the food to go, then changed my mind. I cancelled the order, and refused to pay for the meal. I offered to pay for the drinks and the one appitizer that we had received over our hour (+) wait. Another waiter (maybe manager) said forget it. I was so angry by then, Im sure they wanted us gone. When I returned home, I phoned and spoke to the manager. He said the waiter had forgotten to put in the order and offered us a free meal. I will never go there again. I informed the manager I was not looking for a free meal nor do I want one from them, and told him I thought there was more to the lack of service then just a "forgotten order."

My husband and I have been coming to eat sushi as Asian Bistro for over a year. We have always enjoyed our sushi and had a good meal. However, today our dinner was very different. We ordered two rolls. When I was eating the last piece of my cherry blossom roll I noticed a small bug on my plate crawling around. I alerted the waitress to the crawling bug and she said she would go get someone. She did not come back at all. Finally, another waitress came over and asked if we wanted anything else. When we said no she brought us the bill. I am completely astonished at this poor level of customer service. I am hoping that management was not told about this problem or that I had requested to speak to the manager. I understand that these things happen but the way we were treated is inexcusable.

I know many people are accustomed to the big-portions of the American lifestyle... but in this case.. Asian Bistro did a real great job on presentation and food quality. I had their Miso soup, $3, fantastic. My friend had the house salad, $5, a bit smaller portion.. but he still liked it. For my entree, I had the chicken Pad Thai noodles, $10, it was perfect and a TON of food.. its noodles afterall... My friend had the General Tso chicken and it came with 5 semi-large chicken in the sauce, with broccoli and a small cup of white rice. He complained it was a bit small, but said the food was amazing. Id definitely would return and try out the sushi! ..looks good. I think everyone can all cut back just a bit ;)

I live in the area and recently had my first two experiences with Asian Bistro. The first day, we went for lunch and it was TERRIFIC! Not only was the food delicious but the presentation was great as well. The service was fast and excellent. I was sooo impressed that I ordered delivery the next day. BAD move! The food wasnt fresh and in NO way even resembled what wed had in the restaurant - though we ordered the same dishes. In that the restaurant is less than a mile from me, there was no reason for the food to be so warmed-over. So Ive split the rating: +++++ for dining in and 1 star for delivery.

I cannot believe how highly this place is rated. My fianceé and i were extremely disappointed in the food and service we received at this horrendous restaurant. As background, I have traveled all over Asia having sampled and learned how to cook different cuisines and my fianceé is Asian. This place is simply a cheap rip off making faux-dishes that are loaded with sugar so they appear to taste good but actually lack any vestige of authenticity or balanced taste that comes with typical Thai, Vietnamese and other southeast asian cuisines.

Came here for a quick lunch one day. Had some sashimi slices and went on about our way. Not much to write about here because we didnt really take the time to appreciate the place, although its kinda cute. Got in, ate lunch, got out. Staff was a bit rushed, even though it wasnt very busy, they seemed like we were bothering them. Food was average but cmon, it was lunch time sashimi slices. Staff 3/5, sashimi 3/5, staff 3/5

If you enjoy Curry this is the place to go. If you enjoy poultry on the other hand like me, this is not the place to go. I paid seven dollars for seven peices of sesame chicken. This well over priced in my opinion because I can go to any other place and recieve more chicken for a cheaper price. I expected quality if not quantity but received neither.

We have been going to Asian Bistro since 2008. They have wonderful service, delicious Asian Cuisine, and Authentic Sushi. Their food is fresh and the atmosphere can be casual or intimate depending on the time of the day or night. I would highly recommend this delightful find to anyone for dine in, delivery (after 3pm on weekdays) or carry out.

Date night out - Horrible experience and will never return! After being seated waited 10min before anyone served us water and then take our drink order. The red curry duck was rubber duck and barely edible. The Pad Thai had no taste. For the number for great restaurants in Alexandria, was disappointed by the service and the food.

Great atmosphere, convenient location, and oh, the food was great! I had the drunken noodles and they had just the right amount of spicy - I typically love spicy foods though. It was pretty empty, but we were there at 6 on a Tuesday, so your mileage may vary. Parking on side streets at that time was easy to find, too!

Ive been coming here for years to eat. The service is great, the setting is comfortable and nice- looking and the food is great. I recommend the yakisoba and vegetable gyoza. My mom loves their summer rolls with peanut sauce and my sister loves the wonton soup. On my next visit, I want to try their ramen.

Went there for lunch with a colleague, there was a hair in her soy sauce, my sushi was room temperature and the service was very, very slow even though there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. Over priced for what you get. All I left with was a stomach ache.

I ordered delivery. First of all...free delivery, secondly. ..the sushi was sooooo good. The service was prompt, tge drunken noodles were yummy, delish yofu. Did I mention how awesome the sushi is? Homemade wasabi...oh yea...and the sushi!

Just mediocre food. The nori that the handroll was wrapped in was stale; the panang curry was bland and watery. Restroom was shady. Their hot and sour soup was surprisingly tasty, though, given the poor quality of everything else.
