Its difficult for me to give a not so good review for a restaurant :( I was here at dinner with some important people and I wanted to have a good dinner...but that was not meant to be :( The drinks were good - that was the saving grace! And the guy performing (live music Thursday nights) was good too. Now with the review - I ordered Fajita Mixtas (combination chicken, steak, and shrimp w/ vegetables) and the only thing good in the dish were the onions! Steak was overcooked and hard, shrimp was tasteless, and chicken was to be left alone... Seemed like they took meats from different dishes and threw them together on the hot plate... Even the tortillas were under-cooked if that is possible. I tired a bit of my friends dish - Camarones a la Diabala - the sauce was very disappointing and looked like it was leftover from someones buffalo wings! Would I go back - no in the near future - sorry guys :(

I was in Harrisburg for a conference on June 22, 2010. The Hilton Hotel recommended this place since it was close by. We got to the restaurant at 5:45pm. The waitress never informed us it was Happy Hour but we saw it on the menu which said "Happy Hour" till 6:30pm. I had to ask the waitress for salsa and chips which came free since it was still "Happy Hour." I ordered a margarita and she said it was $7.00 top shelf but when I got the bill it said $7.50. I asked the waitress how come a price difference and she said it was because the margarita was "on the rocks." She never told me of the price difference. When I asked if Happy Hour was till 6:30 like it said on the menu she said it had been changed to 6pm, shortened by 1/2 hour w/o notice. I just went ahead and paid the bill; we did have dinner there which was good. I personally dont like "bait and switch" tactics in restaurants so I wont return.

Dined here today for lunch. Every time I come here for lunch it is packed. There is a big open dining area and a bar that is separated by a half wall. There are some very nice murals in this place and numerous sun related Mexican style hangings. Food - I have eaten the shrimp tacos, the tortilla soup and the fajita burrito. All of the portions are plenty big and I have never eaten a bad meal here. The tortilla chips and guacamole are fantastic. Some of the best guacamole in town. Despite the fantastic food and excellent decor, El Sols most amazing attribute is the unbelievable service. The entire wait staff makes sure that every table is never left unattended. Every waiter and waitress makes sure that they clear away your dirty dishes and fill your empty glasses whether they took your order or not. This fantastic teamwork makes for a phenomenal dining experience.

Ok, if youre tired of the same old tacos, enchiladas, my wife and I ate here and really enjoyed the freshness and taste of the food. We went on Cinco de Mayo- ok bad time to try a new place, but after a bit of a wait despite reservations, the food was delicious. My wife had margaritas and was very disappointed in them. First the house (cheapest), which was a lot of tequila and not much flavor, then the Margarita "special" (expensive) which was disappointing. My beer was fine, and people seemed to enjoy the tequila. Again given it was Cinco de Mayo, well try a margarita maybe one more time, but the food will definitely draw us back. Reading other reviews, we hope the margaritas were just rushed that night. The seafood molcajete was excellent, as was the ceviche.

This place was fantastic! We took our son and his g-friend there when visiting. Food was really excellent. Guacamole app was truly delicious. Had the ribeye carne asana and it was SPOT on. Cooked perfectly, delicious Pico dressing and the house hot sauce was solid. Wife had chile rellano and gave it A rating. Others had polloi diablo and chicken fajitas with glowing reviews. Beans and Rice were very tasty. Margaritas hit the spot! Decor was very tastefully done. Staff was well trained. Service was right there when you needed them, but not tripping over you. Great menu selection, so you will definitely find something to your taste. Well done all around. Parking behind and dont forget to give them your ticket as they reimburse you your $5 fee!

We stopped here on our way to Gettysburg. The parking was a bit tricky having to put in your license plate and then pay for your time, but it is downtown so thats to be expected. We are from Oklahoma so were craving good Mexican but was disappointed with this place. The chips, salsa and guacamole were okay, but our dishes were not very tasty. I got the Grilled Fish Tacos which were covered in salsa verde (should have gotten it on the side), and it was so spicy I could hardly eat it. Plus, it drowned out the taste of the fish. My husband got the Filet Medallions which he said was just okay.

It is THE BEST Mexican restaurant in Harrisburg. The Express place is near our house and we order delivery from there often. I wouldnt call the menu items 100% authentic, however the taste and flavors are reminiscent of the real deal south of the border. Top Menu Items: Nachos(occasionally on the menu) Queso Fundidito Fajitas Mixtas Anything with the Carnitas(shredded pork) They also have a pretty top notch bar with affordable and strong mixed drinks. This place is a MUST stop if you live in or are passing through Harrisburg and have a hankering for Mexican food.

This isnt authentic Mexican food. I got the fajita and it was alright. The chicken had decent flavor. They charge for the plate of fixins (lettuce, sour cream, Pico de gallo, and 2 random slices of cucumber), and they also charge for shredded cheese on top of your fajita mix. I had a server (Gabby) who was a b*ch to me, and didnt seem to care how she treated me and the rest of my party. I will not be returning ever nor would I recommend this place. Save the coins youd be spending here, and go to El Rodeo. I never had an issue with them.

Ive tried this place a few times and I am always underwhelmed. Some dishes are ok, and they do make excellent guacamole, but all the entrees I have tried are less than mediocre. The mole dish I tried last night was not even edible, hence this review. The chicken was burned and tough, and the mole tasted like the cook guessed at how to make it. The only bright spot here is the bar. They do have some creative drinks on the menu, but if you looking for good Mexican food, try somewhere else.

I was in the area for a meeting. I wanted Mexican and saw the reviews decided to eat here. Service was really good..but if you want chips and salsa you have to pay. Every Mexican restaurant does not charge. I order Carne Asada and the meat was overcook/burnt &tasteless the rice was overcooked. A little pricey too.The margarita was good. Basically the food was bad. The only good thing was the service and the drink. The cook lost hes touch. I wont go back.

Second time my husband and I went here - first time the place was nearly empty, but we were told we needed to have a reservation to be seated. This evening, same thing - nearly empty, but we were seated. Nothing Mexican about the food except the names. Bland, greasy, watery (!) chicken, server had no concern when we mentioned it to him. Pricey, not worth it. Weve eaten a lot of Mexican food - traveled and lived in the SW - this is the worst! Yuck!
