El Limon is our go-to Mexican place. We first got attracted to this place as we were seated at the restaurant across the street (Chiangmai) and having dinner. On impulse, we were checking reviews of places close-by and El Limon stood out in having very high ratings. A few weeks later, we came back to the area - this time to El Limon and were very impressed with the quality and value of the food here. I ordered a Cubana sandwich which went for the princely amount of $8.50 and was very filling and perfectly done. My wife went with a Alambre with mixtos - a variety of different meats + shrimp. It was lip-smacking delicious. The portions of the alambre were also so substantial that we took a fair bit of it home and enjoyed it later on. Since then we have been here twice and - just to give you a sense of how much I have enjoyed the cubana - I have ordered it on both occasions. My wife has had the alambre once and the fajitas on another occasion and both of us have been happy with those food choices. Given that my Indian taste buds are used to significant spice levels, I have had to use some of their spicy sauces that are on the counter but with those added in, I have found the flavor profiles excellent. As the decor of the place and menu prices will tell you, this isnt trying to be a fancy sit-down place and so when it comes to service, there isnt much too much to write about. However, the servers appear friendly and are happy to oblige with requests. The reason for taking off a star is the slightly ridiculous prices on the additions. Last night my wife requested guacamole and cheese on the side with her fajitas and from what i remember, a small cup of guac (the size in which you might have some ketchup served to you) was $2.50 and a similar-sized cup for cheese was $2.00 - those prices seem a little insane and out of place with the rest of their pricing. Also, while I have always gone back for the cubana, I feel as though I enjoyed it the most the first time around and on the last two visits, I have enjoyed it a tad less. In particular, I like my food to be served hot and my sandwich buns to be nicely toasted, and I felt that the sandwich had achieved both to a greater extent the first time I had ordered it. These comments notwithstanding - El Limon rocks and is an excellent choice for great, inexpensive Mexican food. We see ourselves going there on many occasions in the future.

I sadly have to give them two stars. There was no wait for the table and service throughout the meal was excellent. I ordered fish tacos and chips with guac. Fish tacos werent the best Ive ever had but not the worst either. Perhaps a little simple. Nothing I couldnt have replicated at home very easily. I probably would try something else if I were to return as other dishes around me looked better. I was seated by the kitchen and was watching them prep food. Usually I take open air kitchens as a good sign. Open air probably means nothing to hide, right? Unfortunately I watched the boy prepping food lay a cutting board, which had just been used to prep lettuce, on the floor. About 5 minutes later I watched him pick it up off the floor, back onto the table, and begin cutting onions on it. The number one priority of any kitchen staff is to protect the health and safety of their patrons. Number two is excellent food and service. Im not a clean freak but come on.... using dirty dishes off the floor? Couldnt believe it.

Delicious food, but could use work on the service in the restaurant. Weve always had great experiences when getting food to go, but one time we decided to eat in and had a pretty bad experience. We had gotten a table for the two of us, but when a larger group came into the restaurant, we were asked to leave our table and sit at the bar along the wall instead, which is not as comfortable for eating and less frequently visited by the server (who asked us to move in the first place). When we asked for the servers attention because he wasnt coming by to get our order, he seemed annoyed. That was a pretty big damper on our experience. We will happily continue to eat the food there, but probably will mostly be takeout due to this experience. The grilled chicken quesadilla is great, and chicken ting, carnitas and al pastor are delicious as well!

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! Went here with a friend of mine, and even though there were no tables available (on a Wednesday night too!) we were happy to have a seat at the back counter against the windows. perfect for people watching! service was fast and friendly. margaritas are FREE!! seriously. free. I had two. Best nachos I ever had, I could REALLY taste the lime. We each ordered the burritos, my friend ordered the chicken with mole and I had the steak with the green sauce. Best burrito Ive ever had. the meat was fresh and tasty. had just a bit of spice to it, but was extremely flavorful. The mole was dark and intricate, sweet yet savory. Definitely a place I will be returning to. Did I mention that 3 margaritas, 2 burritos and a giant plate of nachos was $24??? Totally, completely worth it.

I love El Limon. It is my go to mexican restaurant. When I have friends come to town, I take them to El Limon. Ive tried most of their foods and at this point I stick mostly with the loaded nachos and enchiladas with mole. Personally I find the flavors of the enchiladas are the best with the vegetarian option as it has a lot of variety of vegetables and really creates a complex flavor profile. The mole, is the best I have ever tried and nothing comes close to what you get at El Limon. Sometimes, the quality isnt as good as other times but I have never been disappointed. They have a nice tres leches for dessert if you arent full at the end of your meal. An added bonus is the margaritas which arent on the menu so you have to ask for them and they are free!!!

Since we moved away from the central coast of California 9 years ago through Denver, north Jersey, and Philly, this is the best authentic mexican food we have found. Legit tacos with nothing but perfectly marinated meat, onions, and cilantro. The mole sauce is something you would find straight out of the old country. Both their red and green sauces are very fresh and flavorful. It doesnt seem like it would be worthy of five stars but you would be surprised. This is how it is done in Cali and we are so glad we found a place we can compare to home. Super cheap also which makes it that much better. Just run in, grab three chicken tacos, and youll be good for a while!

the food is amazingly delicious, the prices are extremely affordable, the portion size are fair to more than enough and the service is very fast and friendly. However, the restaurant overall feels grimy and a little but dirty. Youre usually sliding or sticking to the floor. I always go during the evening hours (6pm or later) so maybe that description is not the case in the day. but every time Ive been to this location the floor have been sticky and and once Ive had to send back my cup for a dirt film along and on top of my drink. these issues have yet to keep me for frequenting this or other locations. so decide for yourself.
