Went there tonight and was extremely disappointed. No idea how this place has 4.4 stars. The food is decent-nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about. However, the service was absolutely atrocious. It took about half an hour to receive the first dish and a solid ten minutes or more between each dish after that. The appetizers (cold sesame noodles and dumplings, neither of which require much prep time) came last. We would up cancelling two items we ordered that hadnt come when we were finishing up, two hours after we got there. There was only one waiter (for 10+ tables) who was assisted by his 10 year old daughter. She was more on point than he. The space is small but nice enough if youre in the front. We were shoved in the back in a table without a light (all other tables have a light above them) surrounded by boxes since they seemingly do not have ample storage space. Despite the decent food, the service and overall experience were extremely subpar. I would not go back here again and I certainly dont recommend it unless you want to waste over two hours on just decent food and are not nearly hungry yet when you arrive.

After trying so many far from good chinese food take-outs in the area, tonight my other half an i decided to try New Star. Ordered General Tso Two Delight (chicken and Shrimp) Sesame Chicken Steamed dumplings Chicken fried rice The food was fantastic! - tender chicken in both dishes, the shrimp was perfectly cooked, vegetables very fresh and not overcooked or undercooked. The sauce in both dishes was great and the servings are generous. The chicken fried rice, so wonderfully light in flavour, not greasy like many a place we have tried, the bean sprouts even still had a light crunch too them, the chicken was tender in the rice. The steamed dumplings, were moist with a dough that wasnt too thick or too thin, their dumpling sauce was really tasty. Our order also came with a QT of white rice, and they added in a bottle of coke. So after sitting down and not being able to eat it all due to being full, we have decided it will be our new chinese place to go to in this area. Reasonably priced great food.

@ Noah Halperin As the owner of the business, I feel the need to satisfy all of my customers. Tonight (Christmas), was way busier than we had planned. Rather than expecting more business coming from the take-out, we had much more in our dine-in area. Therefore, when you arrived at the restaurant, most of the dine-in area was occupied. Not wanting to disappoint anyone, we decided to make a table in the back of the dining room. Most of the time, the back is not occupied. As a result, there were boxes around your seated area. We were so busy that the only person that would be able to monitor the dining area was my son. I tried to go in and out of the area to take care as much customers as I can. The order of the food and its timing were also thrown off by the busy orders that are thrown into the kitchen. I am very sorry for this upsetting experience with us. If there is anything I can do to make it up to you, please notify us. I guarantee you that if you visit us on any normal day, you would expect food and service that lives up to our 4.4 rating.

This was a really good healthy restaurant. My family and I were staying at Camelback Lodge and water park and we needed somewhere healthy to eat with vegan options. BTW, Camelback food was awful and poor quality. The chief at New Star was really nice and made foods to order and even gave the kids free watermelon. The veggies were fresh and food did not have much oil or sauces. It tasted more like authentic Chinese food rather than American Style Chinese food laced with oils, salts and too much meat. Thank you so much New Star. Keep the healthy movement going and eat more plant based foods!

We have lived here 21+ years. We started at New Star way back when, and loved it, but a few years ago we noticed the food was not as good; and, it took an nose dive when they opened the buffet place in Giant Plaza; seemed like they were neglecting the storefront in Tannersville. We stopped buying from them. However, we tried them a few weeks ago and again tonight. Looks like all new people; probably a new owner. The food is better than ever! In fact, the ribs are the best I have ever had at a Chinese restaurant. We are extremely pleased again!

I go there weekly and the quality is consistently good. The service is great and the woman in charge will go out of her way to keep customers happy, so if youre displeased about anything, just let her know. Ive tried other Chinese restaurants in the area (not fond of buffets), the dishes are above-average in quality and the service is excellent. I cant speak for the sit-down experience, though.

I was very happy the food was excellent. And so many variety Of food. I watched it. Being built and looked foward to going as soon as it open i would definitely. Recommend people to go eat there . the only thing i found. That needs apporovement is the customer service it took a little to long foe someone to come and get my plates and ask what we were. Have for drinks. Other than that excellent

Green curry and red curry looked and tasted identical. Large portions. We went 30 minutes before closing and we felt rushed. If the restaurant wants to close earlier they should change their closing times. Will not come here again. Average Chinese food. If you like Vietnamese go next-door. Much better food and probably the same price

Was in nearby Camelback resorts looking for good Chinese food, and this is the place. Great food, generous proportions. The owners were very friendly and kind. Its a small shop ideal for delivery if you are near. We went for pickup both nights at the resort. Their chicken & broccoli and Thai fried rice were our faves.

This is one of the best Chinese food, we ever had. We ordered chicken fried rice, chicken with Broccili, Kung pao Shrimp and chicken lo mein. Every thing is fresh, tasty and awesome. Prices are very reasonable and they deliver. They appreciate cash payments. We (family) enjoyed the food very much. Aj
