Honestly despite reading rave reviews about this place, I was hesitant to try it based on the name and location. Crazy Sushi? Is the main ingredient certifiably insane fish?? Sherwood?! I am SO glad I overcame my paranoia. Crazy Sushi is hands down the best sushi place that I have been to in Oregon. The rolls are fresh, innovative, delicious and FRESH. The staff is friendly and willing to do anything to please. The place is tiny and noisy, Ill admit, things that I usually avoid, but my husband and I sat at the bar and really enjoyed our meal and didnt feel like anything detracted from it. Also, dont be deceived from the online menu, this place has a full typical sushi menu with all the favorite standards in addition to their specialty rolls. Just dont order too many, they are not afraid to feed you. I could have easily eaten one roll for dinner. As it was we ordered sake, miso, three rolls, a sushi sampler, and one by the piece sweet scallop, not to mention the free goodies we got on the house (monkey balls, edamame, and a sweet orange cut to look like a mouse) and we walked away for $48 with 1 and 1/2 rolls in take out boxes. (And it tasted good the next day) Come early or late this place is popular and you will find yourself waiting outside to get in but they are pretty quick about getting people in, although they don’t rush you out if you are inside enjoying your dinner.

Just moved to Sherwood. My husband and I love sushi, and have 2 preschool girls. We felt like sushi for lunch, and I knew that I saw a few places in town in the strip malls. We found Crazy Sushi first, with dumb luck, and from the moment we walked in, we knew it would be great. The atmosphere inside is perfect. I was totally expecting the typical strip mall sushi shop fare, you know, lots of rolls with cream cheese and other such yucky stuff. Not here. This was some of the best sashimi I have ever eaten. On par with great fancy and expensive places I have been to in Chicago and San Francisco. Way better than anything we have had in Portland. The sashimi melted in our mouths. I also got a Hawaiian Poke salad, which was absolutely delicious. My husband got a seafood soup, which was also delicious. My younger daughter had the Yaki Udon, it was so good that if all this place served was noodles, I would still come back, but since their fish is soooo good, I think I will be coming back for that. And, oh yeah, the prices are soooo reasonable.

I was so excited to see a new sushi place was coming to town. Ive lived in Sherwood for the past three years and have been less than impressed with the one restaurant in the city which offers sushi. I just given the A-O-K from my doctor to eat sushi during my pregnancy (as long as it has been previously frozen) so I rushed straight to try Crazy Sushi and I have to say, it was honestly the best sushi I have ever tasted in my life! The sushi was flavorful, tender and delicious. The prices were fair too. I got my sushi to go and the presentation was amazing, even in the to go container. The service was great too. The employees were kind and helpful. I cant wait to go back. I have a feeling the employees of Crazy Sushi will be getting to know me on a first name basis before we know it! If you love sushi, I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. You will NOT be disappointed!

I have been getting sushi here with my weekly lunch with my mother every week for the last couple of years. Im so glad I discovered this place! i get the lunch special - bento box with 4 california rolls, 4 pieces of sashimi, and orange chicken. The sushi is very high quality, the sashimi is cut well and melts in your mouth and the joint doesnt have that fishy smell like some sushi bars have. Its a great deal and the food is consistently extremely high quality, as well as the service. Everyone is so nice and the food is always so delicious and made so quickly. This place has such a welcoming atmosphere and its convenient if youre about to see a movie at the nearby theater!! I highly recommend this place to ANYONE. You will get large portions, for a great price, with amazing quality. What more could you want out of a sushi place?

Two years ago we had originally moved from Vegas and were in search of great Sushi while living in Beaverton. We visited Crazy and each time the food never failed. The service is fantastic. They are real, honest, genuine people of their craft. The food is flawless. We have tried various items and never had a bad dish. I love their seared sashimi. We had left Oregon for about a year and a half..we returned and Chef Mike remembered us as the couple from Vegas. That time on our visit we were with our 5 month year old daughter. The staff then suggested our daughters first sushi be at Crazy Sushi. She is still a little too young but O guarantee her first piece will be here. This restaurant is clean, the food is top notch, and the team is beyond hospitable. Thanks for making us feel at home!

I had written a review about a year ago but for some reason it is not there anymore. This is place is as good as it is when it opened about a year ago. I have been to many different sushi places before Crazy sushi but have only been going there since we as a family discovered it.It is probably the best sushi in Oregon. I recommend to visit this place even for people who live on the east side and north Portland as well. It is worth the travel. Service is very friendly but not 5 star impeccable service which you do not expect from a small restaurant: occasional omissions are possible and are no more frequent than in other restaurants. And of course food is just indescribably delicious at this place.

I love this place. They have a very interesting menu which includes a jigimi, korean style pizza, and no joke it has these things on it like little leaf papers that actually move and keep moving in reaction to the heat as you eat. The flavor was a flavor that I have never tasted before and I loved every bite :) Try something new, you wont regret it. The sushi rolls are also very large and presented with such careful finesse, just breath taking beautiful. I was surprised to see that when I ordered togo last week they gave the same fantastic presentation as they did in the restaurant. I would give it more starts if I could!

I was so excited for this place and was greatly disappointed. The waitstaff was very standoffish and the sushi was mediocre at best. Almost every roll was a California roll of some variant. It kinda screamed (were a sushi place for people who dont like real sushi) The rice was cold and bland and the salmon nigiri tasted fishy (salmon nigiri shouldnt taste "fishy") You can get better nigiri at a cheap conveyer belt place. Only reason it doesnt get one star is that the baked and fried rolls are pretty good.
